Congratulations on the birth of your baby.

Yes you can make arrangements to pay while you in Nigeria and keep receipts for your next visits

Any idea why your baby was early, did you have any pre existing conditions or was it just spontaneous early labour?
Thank you.
I’m honestly not sure why he was early. None of the antenatal checkups pointed to that and no history of early labor in my family. But 2 days before my water broke i visited a friend in Philadelphia and we walked a lot (not a lot to her but to me it was quite the workout) so maybe that had something to do with it lol

Congratulations on your baby, I pray God provides for you to clear your bills don’t worry everything will be okay, just let the hospital know you will like to draw up a payment plan to clear the thing while you’re back in Nigeria and they will allow you do so $34k is a lot and not many Americans can drop that amount cash down.
I’ve read a story of someone here who was still paying small small for the previous birth while she went in to have to second one and she wasn’t sent back.
Thanks so much for that little prayer and for the info. Hopefully I’m able to sort it easily smiley

That is perfectly fine. Ensure you document that payment. Keep all of the original billing and then however you need to pay for them, international wires, credit card transfers etc. When you want to renew your visa the Consular Officer will almost surely ask for that documentation.
Thanks so much for the info.

Hello house

I came to US to deliver my baby, New Jersey to be precise. I wasn’t due until June 2022 and planned to deliver at a birth center for cheaper option. However, he came 6 weeks early and I had to be transferred to a hospital as the birth center doesn’t do any birth that isn’t full term. He spent 7 days in NICU and i received a total bill of almost $34k after discount. My question is is it ok if i choose a payment plan where ill pay a certain amount each month? This means that ill leave the country but will be paying my bills back home. Is it acceptable? Has anyone paid their bills over the course of 1 year?
