Hmmmnnn! Very touching. What else could Monica have done?! Well, she tried, even though it was wrong. She only wanted to save herself from the everyday insults and embarrassment from her mother-in-law. Thank God for the kind of husband God gave her, dude is understanding and gentle. Kudos to him. May God continue to bless their union, that's if this ain't some fairytale. I'm right in support of what Monica did, obviously, 'cause I praised her already. The decision to pay or not solely depends on any intending corper. 4grand ain't huge but it's not little too *its just enough to get a cool cologne* I personally think the whole "NYSC is extorting unsuspecting students", was blown way outta proportion cos the reasons for the fee are overtly clear and perfectly justifiable. At the end of the day, if you feel going to your school to pick up ur number and letter would cost less than 4grand!*i doubt* especially if your primary dwelling is nt in close proximity with the school,then I would personally curse you out if you pay...

Sabiguy was just trying to say, have the right reasons to decline payment. If you can't afford the fee now, because of financial constraints but you know deep down that there's an attached advantage to paying, then do the needful and PAY! Even if it means gettn it from a friend.

Everyone just lamenting about 4k, some rushing to pay, some forming street credibility as an excuse not to pay (poverty na BASTARD), some just reading and passing by while some paid from way back.... Anyway, the thing is that... It all depends on individual circumstances to determine your decision... If you know you won't spend upto 4k to go and pick up your letter, then you don't have to pay the fee, but if you will be spending more than 4k to travel to and fro for the letter, then you are even a bigger mugu compared to those that paid 4k.
Don't take it too serious, the answer is within you if you think you should pay or not!

Smh, as much as this whole comment would have made sense, the fact that you mentioned "poverty na bastard" ruined it all. Not all who ain't paid do not have the money. Well, true, maybe, that those panicking are those who want to runs their posting, but from another angle, some of us are vexed 'cause NYSC never stated these people will get their call-up numbers nor letters before we others do; everything is meant to come out at the same time, the only advantage for 'em is they get it by mail, while we go down to collect ours, but now, contrary is the case, they've gotten theirs, while we are yet to get ours, and 15th/16th is still far. It's just annoying, frustrating and unfair! This wasn't the deal!!

Well I am not forcing anyone to pay the 4k oh, just saying I am enjoying the benefits, also remember nysc will want to justify the 4k and favour those who paid so as to make further registration compulsory in future without opposition, our set is more or less guinea pigs for this experiment, better to be on a safer side.

All I'm thinking and hoping is that they've sent the call-up numbers to our various schools, it's just the holidays delaying us from getting it. Because, NYSC never stated "ahead of time" as one of the advantages of paying 4k, it's becoming annoying. Alotta people has gone to pay the 4k already since those who paid earlier have been getting their call-up numbers. This is a bait, it's unfair, it's annoying and at the same time frustrating. I'm calm anyways, 'cause something is telling me ours have been sent to our schools.....but if by Wednesday, no such news is heard.....sebi na one of their sons them shoot yesterday or so yen?!.....

Ma'am, hold on a little, they might have sent to our various schools, but holidays still delaying us from getting the info yet. It's advisable you find out from your DSA, if you can, so you'll know whether or not it has gotten to school. All the best.

Thinking of it, you travel to school to check to confirm if you are mobilized. copy out your call up number and return home, then on the 28 you travel to school again to collect call up letter, few days before posting, imagine you school in kano and you are posted to lagos, the journey has just began, it's better I paid the 4k oh, someone told me with this online registration we may not need to finish clearance and collect statement of result before camp, since they have everything to authenticate us, which will make things faster on first day in camp, I don't know how true sha, master sodiq should help us confirm.

Well, we get your point. The 4k has its advantage(s), but writing up call-up number ain't one. I don't necessarily have to go down to wherever my school is before I get my call-up number; anybody present in school can do for me...and as for the call-up letter, I can do once the statement of result/ID card are ready, by that, we'll prolly be on the same level. Thank God NYSC didn't promise you your schools will mail to you your statement of results and ID cards.

And where the heck have I been all these while...was always looking on Google for stuffs and some DIY, not knowing there's been one thing on here I've been missing. Just read the first page and I was wowed! I'm on this already, no going back. Still have 16 more pages to go through...no sleeping tonight. BTW Ms/Mrs Efosa, well done. God bless you!!
