she got it via hard work from 2 Masters degree, to PhD , worked with IRCC and then with a Tech company as a Senior Project manager, never seeked asylum , it was my fault as I was comfortable living in Africa due to my business, we agreed they would come back to Africa , I never wanted to live in Canada due to my business but now I understood better, I have started the spousal sponsorship application too.. Hmm.. let me think like a VO here. Your wife is a citizen and you are now just applying for visit visa? You have not seen your child that was born in Canada and yet your wife is a citizen? When did she get to Canada that she became a citizen? How did she get citizenship and you were not included in her application even when she applied for permanent residency. This your story no clear and I think I see why the officer refused it. Maybe your wife got her PR through asylum and she claimed a domestic violence story. Now that same person wants to come to Canada, of course they would reject it na.

I used it once and when I tried to use it again they said I wasn’t eligible to.
As for the US visa part, I think I agree because you’ll be asked for it specifically and even asked to put the visa number

Please quick question, please is etax certificate the same thing as TCC, cos what I got from LIRS shows my tax remittance for the previous years. I asked about that of 2025 and they said TCC shows only previous years

I was thinking it will be better to show a transaction history that shows that I’ve been paying tax all year but there’s no official statement like this on the portal
Do you think the TCC is enough or I need to get a supporting documenting?

You are right using the new portal with a US visa, without US visa using the new portal is hard. I also know someone who has a US visa and used the new portal yet was refused just last month, I don't just understand frankly.. I feel it's just depends on the Visa officer. Usually the old GC key works better.

Good evening, Everyone.

I aooloed for TRV in May 2025 and submitted my passport yesterday at VFS Abuja as instructed by the Canadian Authorities.

After dropping off, I got an email/SMS which said:
" The envelope for the decision on the results of your visa that has been processed has been received at the Canadian Visa Application Center at Lagos OC on the date. We will then send this to the Canadian Visa Application Center Lagos OC Your decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the 'Buy Services' page of the VAC website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC"

My office is a few minutes walk from the VAC, so Courier is just a waste of resources in this instance. I told the VAC Staff when they asked if I wanted Courier and they smiled.

Pls what can I do?

Yea,You need a clear purpose for your application now like this case is about a parent and brother attending a graduation ceremony in Canada as family visitor , not just someone with no travel history and huge funds in their account going for tourism in canada,. Officials are stricter now because many past applicants overstayed or claimed asylum. If your application isn’t well-prepared with a clear purpose of visit but you only rely on showing money in your account as a visitor with no travel history, family or ties to Canada, you’re most likely going to wast your money, as Canada’s visa rules are now very strict!

I have a valid US visit visa and I submitted my application for Canada V V on 30th of October 2024.
Biometrics request mail was sent same day and I did my biometrics on 1st of November.
I got a mail today (13th Nov) to submit my passport.
please am I supposed to book an appointment on the VFS website or I can just walk into their Abuja office to submit my passport. I can only see the option to book an appointment for biometrics on their website so I am a bit confused.

Stating twice is good enough nd that is not misrepresentation when u make error with actual refusal date but you can update via webform if u so worry about it

If you reach out to them before they do it will not be a problem.

That thing comes with a 5 years ban. Some people have challenged it up to the federal court and still have not gotten the 5 years and have reversed it. See excerpts of a Judicial Review below;

JUDGMENT AND REASONS

I. Overview
[1] The Applicant, Ms. Ying Wang, is a Chinese citizen. She seeks judicial review pursuant to subsection 72(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, SC 2001 c 27 [IRPA] of a decision of an officer [the Officer] of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] in Beijing, China, refusing her application for a temporary resident visa. The Officer refused her application for a visa because Ms. Wang failed to respond properly to a question and omitted to disclose a prior US visa revocation.

[2] For the reasons that follow, this application for judicial review is dismissed.

II. Background
[3] In 2019, Ms. Wang applied for a temporary resident visa to visit her son, who is a permanent resident of Canada. On her application, she answered “no” to the following question: “Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country or territory?”

[4] During the course of the first review, an officer of IRCC learned that Ms. Wang had failed to disclose a prior US visa revocation. The Global Case Management System notes indicate that an initial procedural fairness letter was sent to the Applicant, but no response was received. On October 30, 2019, an officer refused the application.

In my own case i stated by twice refusal of TRV to Canada but i mistakenly wrote wrong years( which was not necessary) i wrote 2019 and 2022 instead 2019 and 2021. I hope they wont feel i lied but i declared i was denied Canada visit visa but its only the years i was wrong about . House hope i am not in soup already

Appeal? Was there a preocedural fairness letter issued? your brother should be happy as he just escaped a 5 years ban. Forget about appeal. Nothing to appeal there.

Your chances are high but I don't know why they are not using fast track CAN + to process your visa.

You can send a web form attaching your valid US Visa and ask for CAN + processing.
