To delete an inventory record in Sage 50, follow the steps (OUR PREVIOUS POST) to open the Maintain Inventory Items window for that item of inventory. Once open, click the Delete icon. You will be asked 'Are you sure you want to delete this record?' Clicking Yes will delete that inventory record from Sage 50. Note that you are not able to delete an item of inventory if any transactions have been applied to that item, including beginning balances. However, if you have transactions recorded for an item of inventory that you want to delete, you really should be questioning whether you should be deleting that inventory record in the first place!

Modifying Account In Sage 50
A situation whereby all general ledger account have been created by default but the DESCRIPTION not perfectly matched or you need to change the ACCOUNT ID of an account.

To modify an existing account you need to open that account in the Maintain Chart of Accounts window. There you can change the Account ID by clicking the Change ID icon, enter the new Account ID number and click on OK. You can also alter the name of the account by changing the Description field, or you can change the account classification using the drop down menu of the Account Type field.

Once you have made your changes to modify the account, remember to click Save to save your changes.

The chart of accounts will include accounts that are available for amounts and even if the accounts have had no amounts recorded in them.Some accounts listed in the chart of accounts will NOT have amounts recorded in them, especially if it is early in the accounting year. Thus, A chart of accounts is a listing of the names of the accounts that a company has identified and made available for recording transactions in its general ledger. A company has the flexibility to tailor its chart of accounts to best suit its needs, including adding accounts as needed.
