The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) would like to clarify that the 2025 Direct Entry (DE) Registration will not be closing on Monday, April 7, 2025, as being speculated.

The registration process, which began on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, will continue until a closing date is announced. Therefore, candidates who wish to register can do so at any of the Board’s designated Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) on Monday and continuing until the official closing date is revealed.

This liberalization of the registration period allows the Board to complete ongoing investigations into candidates who have been arrested or are under scrutiny for attempting to use fraudulent A-Level results for registration.

We strongly advise candidates with questionable credentials to refrain from participating in the registration process, as the Board has implemented measures to identify individuals with such credentials, both now and in the future.

If you have previously used fraudulent results, we urge you to withdraw voluntarily, as the Board is expanding its investigations to include students who have already been admitted.

JAMB has now enabled the portal for the printing of the 2025 UTME Mock slip. Candidates, who indicated interest in writing the mock, can now print their exam slip for the mock, which is expected to be held on April 10th, 2025. The mock slip will indicate the venue and time of the exam for eligible candidates. We have now provided the steps candidates are to take to print their Mock slips directly from the JAMB portal. The National Examination Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2024 Senior Secondary School Certificate External Examination results.

According to the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Council, Professor Dantani Wushishi, 57,114 candidates secured credits in English and Mathematics, representing a 67.53% pass rate.

A total of 86,067 candidates sat for the examination, which saw a significant reduction in malpractice cases.

The number of candidates booked for various forms of malpractice decreased by 27.7% compared to 2023, with 6,160 cases recorded.

The results were released just 62 days after the final examination, marking a notable improvement in the council's processing time.

Candidates can check their results on the NECO website using their registration numbers and exam details.

If you are not attended to at the jamb office, return back to cbt center to retrieve your former profile code with just your jamb registration number for a Token.

Conditions attached is that when this year JAMB result is released via SMS, you won't be able to see your until Jamb create a link or Releases original JAMB result officially on the jamb Caps.

during this morning's JAMB SPACE on X that
⁃ NO CHANGE OF DATA (e.g., name, age, gender,
state of origin) WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER JAMB
REGISTRATION.
⁃ Ensure all data is CORRECT before registering for
JAMB. Failure to do so may result in irreparable
consequences.
To correct your data,
1. Visit NIMC to pull out your wrong details.
2. Send REQUERY NIN to 55019/66019.
3. You will receive a message saying your updated
data has been successfully pulled from NIMC
4. Proceed to any CBT Center and inform the
registration officer that you've made corrections.

To correct errors in profile code. Firstly understand these errors are from NIMC not Jamb.

STEP 1: correct the error at NIMC office
STEP 2: do NIN VALIDATION
STEP 3: send SMS to JAMB// REQUERY (leave a space) NIN NUMBER TO 55019. You get a response "your details have been successfully pulled from NIMC proceed to register". Or you get "no recent data changes pulled from NIMC" if you get successful message gud proceed to step 4. If you get no data pulled message redo validation or complain at NIMC office.
STEP 4: get COURT AFFIDAVIT matching your desired change
STEP 5: visit an accredited CBT CENTRE during Jamb registration period with the following "NEW NIN SLIP showing correct data, APPROVAL SMS RECEIVED FROM JAMB, COURT AFFIDAVITS and Payment"
STEP 6: CBT centre will provide you NIMC BIODATA FORM TO FILL.. Kindly fill correctly to avoid error.
STEP 7: Make payment to CBT CENTRE FOR NIMC BIODATA CORRECTION
Step 8: PROVIDE all documentations and your correction will be done immediately.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS CORRECTIONS MUST BE DONE BEFORE YOUR JAMB REGISTRATION IS COMPLETED. Remember to tell the Operator attending to you at CBT CENTRE that you are doing NIMC correction before they start. Once your PIN is validated without notice of correction you may not be able to do the corrections.

Each candidate will now have to take atleast 2mins to read and acknowledge Jamb Prosecution before application can be submitted
Hence, delay at CBT centers nationwide. Your Jamb form must be printed properly with all edges showing.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), a body charged with conducting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has announced dates and guidelines for the 2025 tertiary institutions entrance examination.

The UTME is for candidates who have completed secondary school education and wish to gain admission into universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education.

According to JAMB, registration for the 2025 UTME registration will commence on *January 31st, and ends on March 5th, 2025*

"All prospective candidates planning to register for JAMB in 2025, need to meet the following requirements:

Candidates must possess an 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN) obtained from any NIMC enrolment centre or NIMC mobile app to create a JAMB profile and register for examinations.

Candidate must have a JAMB Profile Code created from the 10-digit code that is sent to you after sending your NIN to 55019

Candidates are now required to generate their profile codes. This step is mandatory for all applicants. This initiative is part of JAMB’s broader effort to align with national identification policies and improve data management for university admissions in Nigeria. Here are the steps:

1.Send NIN to 55019 or 66019: Send your NIN to 55019 or 66019 via text message. For example, send "NIN 12345678000" to 55019 or 66019.

2. Dial 55019*NIN#: Alternatively, you can dial 55019*NIN# to generate your profile code. For example, dial 55019*12345678000#.

3. Receive Profile Code: Once you have sent your NIN or dialed the code, you will receive your JAMB profile code 2025 via text message.

Things to Note

Here are some things to note when generating your JAMB profile code:

1. Use a Permanent Phone Number: Make sure to use a permanent phone number to receive the profile code.

2. Use a Valid NIN: Ensure that your NIN is valid and correct.

3. Keep Profile Code Safe: Keep your profile code safe and secure to avoid unauthorized access

4. You should have at least 50 Naira of Airtime on The SIM you are using to generate the profile code.

In this post, I will be making the difference between general and departmental cut off marks known. A lot of aspirants take them for each other.
Firstly, when we talk about general cut off mark what we mean is the specific mark or score that an institution has fixed for aspirants who wish to gain admission into them.
For example, institutions like UNILAG, UI, OAU among others set their general cut off marks at 200. This means that any aspirant that has less than 200 is automatically illegible. It doesn't matter if a candidate had 199 in UTME and the general cut off mark is 200, such a candidate is not eligible to apply.
On the other hand, departmental cut off marks means the marks that the departments and faculties within the institution set for candidates who are aspiring to study their courses.
A candidate might meet up with the general cut off mark and be eligible to apply but might not meet up with his or her departmental cut off mark. In a case like this, the candidate may or may not get the desired course.
Consider: If an aspirant had 230 in UTME, he or she is eligible to apply to a school like OAU. Then, if the aspirants picked a course like Medicine whose cut off mark is around 290, such a candidate is not meet up to the departmental cut off mark. Such an aspirant might end up getting another course or probably nothing as the case may be.
There are few exceptions though.
That would be discussed later.
