Health / What You Should Know About Alcoholism - Healthboxes by Healthboxes: 2:11pm On Sep 09, 2019
Alcoholism, now known as alcohol use disorder, is the inability to control drinking due to both a physical and emotional
dependence on alcohol.

In the past, an individual with this disorder has been referred to as an "alcoholic." However, this is increasingly seen as an unhelpful and negative label. Health professionals are now saying that an individual has a disease with alcohol use (AUD).
Symptoms of Alcohol Use Disorder include:
• Drinking alone or in secret
• Feeling an urge to drink
• Not being able to limit how much alcohol is consumed
• Storing alcohol in unlikely places
• Drinking in order to feel good

Treatment includes counseling by a health care professional.

A detoxification program in a hospital or medical facility is an alternative for those in need of extra help. Medications that decrease the willingness to drink are accessible.

Health / Re: How Do I Handle Tonsillitis In My 2yr Old Pls Help! by Healthboxes: 2:02pm On Jul 16, 2019
kay0195:
Hello all pls I need help from someone that d child or children has passed through this tonsillitis of a thing, I was on admission with my two year old almost two months back due to highly inflamed tonsils. The temperature was something else even some brand of ibuprofen (u have to get a right brand) could not beat down d temperature. Antibiotics couldn't until they had to give via d veins then after about 5 days he was better and we were discharged to continue with oral antibiotics(one kind brand of cefuroxime) which they gave to us in d hospital. we gave him but the thing is after some days d body started getting hot again we had to go get orelox which was quite expensive but he got better. It's almost two months now but he has started running temperature again and d tonsils are inflamed again. I'm stressed this period as I have issues with bp. Pls is there any home therapy or any way to prevent d tonsillitis stuff? I know about having d tonsils removed but we are just looking at that as d LAST option though. He doesn't go to creche and he hasn't started school. He's mostly at home. We just treated his elder sister of severe tonsillitis though could it be she reinfected him? But with all the plenty antibiotics he has been taking I didn't expect he would catch it so easily. He's been on antibiotics now for 5days and just finished antimalaria but is even getting worse. Pls any ideas?
