Foreign AffairsRe: UK Is Open To Overseas Talent Unlike US, Reeves Says by HealthExpertCLI: 10:16am On Sep 26, 2025
Honestly, the UK isn’t the only place in need of care workers. Countries like Germany, Canada, Ireland, and even Japan are seriously short on caregivers right now. The demand is real because of ageing populations and healthcare gaps.

At CLI College Nigeria, we’ve been following these trends because we train people to become care workers. For anyone looking to work abroad, the big question is always: what do you need to qualify, and which country makes the process easier?

Has anyone here tried Germany or Canada recently? What was the experience like compared to the UK route?
HealthThings You Should Know About Emergency Response In Nigeria by HealthExpertCLI(op): 4:44pm On Aug 01, 2025
CLI College recently hosted a powerful webinar titled “Before the Nurse Arrives – Be the First Line of Care.”
It wasn’t just about healthcare — it was about all of us.

Here are some of the biggest takeaways from the session:

1. First Aid is for everyone not just medical professionals.
2. Mental health matters too: knowing how to respond to emotional distress is just as important.
3. Foundational care skills save lives CPR, bleeding control, staying calm.
4. You don’t need a medical degree, you just need the right training and presence of mind.

In a country where emergency services aren’t always reliable, everyday people are often the first to act. And that action can make all the difference.

If this speaks to you and you’d like to learn practical, life-saving skills, CLI College is here to help.

HealthWhy Are So Many Young Nigerians Getting High? What No One Is Saying About Drugs by HealthExpertCLI(op): 11:48am On Jun 27, 2025
Yesterday, June 26 was World Drug Day, but let’s be honest—most of us probably scrolled past the hashtags and moved on. But the truth is, the drug abuse crisis in Nigeria is real, and it’s getting worse.

From “loud” to tramadol, codeine syrup, crystal meth, Molly, and even refined drugs like Colorado, substance abuse is now a daily reality for many young Nigerians. This isn’t just a “ghetto” problem anymore—it cuts across all social classes.

So, the big question is: why are so many young Nigerians getting high?

Here’s what nobody is really talking about:
Mental health is being ignored.
A lot of people are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress—but don’t know how to talk about it. So they self-medicate with drugs.

There’s pressure to keep up.
Everyone is “hustling” or trying to blow overnight. In the process, many turn to drugs to stay awake, feel confident, or escape the weight of unrealistic expectations.

We shame, instead of support.
When people show signs of addiction, the first reaction is often mockery or judgment. Very few get real help—and by the time they do, it’s sometimes too late.

There’s no proper drug education.
How many of us were ever taught what these drugs do to our brain, body, and future? Most people only hear about it after someone ends up in a psych ward or dead.

The Effects Are Bigger Than You Think:
Damage to the brain
Heart and liver failure
Depression and psychosis
Broken families and relationships
Criminal records
And sometimes, death.

This is not to scare anyone—but to remind us that substance abuse is a public health issue, not just a “bad habit.”

So what can we do?
Start talking about it—at home, online, in schools, churches, etc.
Support those struggling, instead of shaming them.
Learn the signs of addiction early.

Get trained to help. Not everyone needs to become a doctor or therapist, but basic mental health and addiction training can save lives.

That’s one reason I respect CLI College Nigeria. Their Mental Health & Addiction Support program is built for times like this. It helps people like you and me understand addiction, provide care, and become part of the solution—not just spectators. More people need this kind of knowledge.
HealthRe: World Sickle Cell Awareness Day 2025 by HealthExpertCLI: 2:45pm On Jun 19, 2025
Sickle cell is one of those conditions we don’t talk about enough, even though it affects so many people around us. The pain, the hospital visits, the emotional toll—it’s a lot, both for the person living with it and their family.

Awareness is great, but I honestly think we also need more people who understand how to care for individuals with sickle cell—not just medically, but emotionally too. Proper caregiving, pain management, and even mental health support play a big role.

That’s why I’m glad I’ve been exposed to programs that actually train people in these areas. (CLI College Nigeria https://clicollege.com/ has one that focuses on caregiving and mental health—it really opens your eyes.)

We need more empathy, more knowledge, and more people who are ready to show up the right way.
HealthRe: My Friend Is Addicted To Hard Drugs by HealthExpertCLI: 1:57pm On Jun 10, 2025
This one really hits home. Addiction is something a lot of people around us are silently battling, and sadly, many don’t know how to talk about it or where to get help. It’s not just about taking “hard drugs”—it often starts from emotional pain, depression, peer pressure, or just trying to escape from life’s challenges.

I’ve learned that addiction is deeply connected to mental health, and until we start treating it like a real health issue (not a moral failure), many people will keep suffering in silence.

Sometimes, friends and family want to help but don’t even know how—and that’s where proper mental health education comes in. Imagine having more people trained to spot the signs, offer support, or guide someone to the right resources early enough.

That’s one thing I appreciate about the mental health and addiction program at CLI College Nigeria. It’s not just theory—they train people to understand, support, and care for individuals going through addiction or mental health struggles. Whether you want to build a career in it or just want to be better equipped to help someone you care about, it’s a solid place to start.

We definitely need more of us in this space.
CrimeRe: NDLEA Busts International Drug Syndicate At Lagos Airport, Seizes 51kg Of Loud by HealthExpertCLI: 7:14pm On May 26, 2025
This NDLEA bust at Lagos Airport shows how serious the drug problem is—getting 51kg of loud is no small thing. It reminds us that drugs are still coming into our communities in big ways.

But catching these drugs is just one part of the fight. We also need to help people who are already struggling with addiction. That means education, support, and good mental health care.

Programs like the mental health and addiction courses at CLI College are important because they train people to understand addiction and help those who need support. We need more of that kind of help in our communities.

So, while the arrests and seizures are good news, the bigger challenge is making sure people get the care and education they need to stay healthy and safe.

HealthRe: World Hypertension Day: Young Nigerians Under Burden Of Hypertension by HealthExpertCLI: 11:19am On May 21, 2025
This is actually scary, but it makes sense. The way young people are stressed out these days—work wahala, no rest, junk food, zero exercise—it’s not surprising that more of us are getting high BP.

I think it’s time we start taking small steps. Like, checking our blood pressure once in a while, cutting down on salty and processed food, drinking more water, and just trying to get better sleep. Even walking more instead of sitting all day can help.

We don’t have to overhaul everything at once, but little by little, we can do better. Health really no be something to joke with.
SportsRe: How Do I Conquer Gambling Addiction Please by HealthExpertCLI: 4:29pm On May 20, 2025
From what I’ve seen and learned, here are some things that will help
Try to remove betting apps from your phone, avoid betting websites, better still have someone you trust help with managing your money

Understand the “why.” Sometimes, gambling isn’t just about money—it can be a way to cope with stress, anxiety, or even just escape. Finding the root cause makes it easier to heal.

Talk to someone. Whether it’s a counsellor, a support group, or someone you trust, having a space to talk without judgment can make a world of difference. Some people find mental health programs helpful too—they give structure and support, especially when trying to break a cycle.
You can try CLI College's mental health program.

Wishing you strength and healing 🙏🏽
