Exactly a year ago, I over overheard a jambite telling her friend about her suicidal plan in case she fails to hit 200 in jamb,cause she won't be able to bear the shame and humiliation. It is so sickening that our generation most especially the youths see suicide as the only way out of depression.
On Monday 28/1/019 an undergraduate of Niger delta university reportedly committed suicide by drinking a deadly insecticide known as sniper because she had carry overseas in 4courses.
The question remains HOW DO WE HELP YOUTHS GET OUT OF DEPRESSION?
First thing first you should learn how to use situation to your advantage,failing academically isn't the end of the world ,on the contrary it is a wake-up call for you to discover yourself. Ask yourself are u passionate about schooling? No? There are 1,101,101 other aspects where you can find what you are really passionate about. Do what you are passionate about and happiness will follow.
Sure, challenges will arise but remember , at every turn of the road, A new stretch of the road begins,don't stop at the bend,go a round the bend (problems) in turning,you will see a new stretch of the highway (opportunities).

Why university of Ibadan ASUU chapter is the main cause of the continuation ASUU strike.


UI (University of Ibadan) is generally known for its academic prowess and strictness in education matters . It’s also a school that takes great pride in being at the forefront of every plans to uplift academic standards. But this time , it’s a different ballgame . UI’s over zealousness is the reason why students are still at home .

The union and the federal government reached an agreement on Monday 7th of January ,after a two-hour meeting in Abuja.
The government released N15.4 billion in salary shortfall for the University teachers.
The union was expected to call off its indefinite strike action after consulting its chapters.
Unfortunately DR deji omole,the chairman of university of Ibadan ASUU chapter kicked against the money and radically agitated for full govt compliance.

Subsequently on the 16th of January Dr deji omole walked out of ASUU meeting in ekiti demanding the strike continued till government complied fully. As a result of the Veto Vote by The School, the strike was Continued .

- Nigerian music star, Davido, held his music concert at Eko Atlantic on December 27, 2018

- Things seemed to have gone smoothly till reports filtered out that the star had slapped another musician, Kizz Daniel’s manager

- The embittered manager, Tumi Lawrence, took to social media to call out the star and express his disappointment

- Kizz Daniel also made sure to show support for Lawrence by declining to perform at the show

Organising events is not easy as the pressure often lies on the show host to bring out the best. However, that is no excuse for bad behaviour.

Let me put this straight to you. This is a diary, my diary so don’t expect me to follow any rules of writing and grammatical construction and it’s +18. I hope you enjoy spending time in my head lol.
So where do I start? Alrighty,let me take you down the memory lane to 2015. When the naive , innocent wimpy kid experienced the ritual of libertinage for the first time . The year a renowned Brostituide was born ��*****

May 27 2015.
There was this very pretty girl in our street, I was crushing on that year . Faith as she was called , was a girl with a smile that could melt the heart of the fiercest of dictators . She was 5.6(5.6 is the normal height , I don’t care what you think ) , melanin in complexion�, had straight legs and these dimples that set my heart on fire whenever she opened her set of perfectly arranged teeth. I was this shy and morale-lacking kid so anytime I saw her,I lowered my eyes down and muttered greeting. I couldn’t have the guts to look at her smile . The smile was so powerful and charming, it had the power to root me to the spot and leave me grinning sheepishly. I was Yinmushly in love or so I thought .

A week before May 27, I started attending a tutorial center for my exam coming up.Coincidentally, she was attending the same tutorial center. In the tutorial center , almost all the students were dull asf so I was just shining , answering questions and all. Everyone was then admiring me including the girl.
First day, she asked for my pen to write something. Ah , I can still remember how my hands trembled to pass ordinary pen ( for the records, she had a terrible voice tho. Voice of a tomato seller �). She smiled as she noticed my nervousness . I took that as a good sign and made a mental note to talk to her whenever I got the chance
Second day, I forgot my notes and I offered to assist her write . She started a conversation with me in hushed tone.
“ Why don’t you talk to me whenever you see me ?”

“ How I don’t understand “ I replied like I wasn’t guilty of the accusation

“ Stop lying jhoor . You will just pass me by like that . Shey ya forming or don’t you like me ?”
The word “Don’t you like me ?” Resounded in my ears like the the echo of a voice in an empty room . You know that useless butterflies in stomach and your heart running to your throat , that was how the stupid idiot felt . I was just starting at her dumbly .
“ So you hate me abi?” .. Her voice snapped me out of the fantasy-turned reality trance I fell into.
“ It’s not like that . I ....” My speech trailed me as the government teacher snapped at me and asked me to change seats . In my mind was like, “las las you will not see half of this year for ending this talk “.

The rest of the lesson continued with me feeling like some Prince Charming . When tutorial ended , I escorted her home and we talked pretty much . Well enough for me to know , she was so into me as well as I was into her too and she had been giving me green light (wen the only light I knew was traffic light and up nepa) but I ignored . Much to my chagrin, she had dated 6 guys and she was 16 oh . Bottom line , we started dating before the end of that week and by Sunday , after taking her to a local eatery and all , we had our first kiss and smooch and a promise to meet again. Man, I still remembered the speech she made when I kissed her “You are a bad kisser “ . I interpreted that as a sexy kisser . To this day , anytime I remember me knocking my teeth against her teeth all in the name of kissing, I shake my head at my foolishness.
Wednesday 27, May 2015 was Children’s day. As early as 9am , the entire family had gone out for flex and all. I was actually asked to come along but I had plans . I can’t forget the mischievous grin my cousin gave me . He knew about my street sweetheart and he was to be my informant just Incase the family started coming home .
Sharps , I ran to fuel station, with my last card bought fuel . The night before, I had sent one of my street guy to buy me CD plate to play music (IYKYK) so all was set . I quickly called her . No time to waste time . As soon as she came , I firstly handed her broom to sweep the entire compound . Feck is important but cleaning my house is importanter �. Even though I am super lazy ,I’m a stickler for clean environment.
She cleaned the house and even mopped everywhere ( those good old days before girls became wise ) . While she was arraigning the film case , I was just trying to get her eye to meet mine and she was just avoiding it . Boys was naive then and didn’t know how to start things. I watched as she swayed her tiny ass ( it was just a handful of cheeks but to me that year , it was the biggest thing �). While she was sweeping, as a big boy I stupidly thought I was , mans was sipping 5 alive juice mixed with water �. All of a sudden , it hit me in the brain and I went to her and placed one hand on her waist and the other heading for her underpants .
“What are you doing ?!!” She yelled .

1.Born on November 25, 1946 to a Fulani trader and farmer Garba Abubakar, and his second wife, Aisha Kande, in Jada village of Adamawa State, Atiku Abubakar is his parent’s only surviving child – His only sister died, when she was just a baby.

2.Atiku lost is father in 1957, but his parents had long divorced and his mother even remarried.

3.Atiku started school at the age of 8, after his father had been jailed and paid a fine, for refusing the young Atiku to pursue western education.

4. Taking off from Jada Primary School, went on to Adamawa Provincial Secondary School Yola in the year 1960 – And left secondary school in 1965 grade three in the West African School Certificate Examination.

5. Atiku got admitted to the Nigerian Police College, Kaduna, but left because he didn’t have credit in Mathematics. Later became a tax officer in the Regional Ministry of Finance, but soon got admission to study at the School of Hygiene Kano in 1966. In 1967, he graduated with a Diploma. That same year, Atiku Abubakar was admitted for a Law Diploma at Ahmadu Bello University on a scholarship. He graduated in 1969 and got employed by Nigeria Customs Service that same year.

6.Husband of four wives and father of 28 children, Atiku met Titilayo Albert(19-year-old at the time), while he was a Custom officer at Idi-Iroko. He secretly married in December 1971, in Lagos, because her family was against the relationship initially.
7. Abubakar worked in the Nigeria Customs Service for twenty years, rising to become the Deputy Director, as the second highest position in the Service was then known.

ASUU ( Academic staff Union of universities ) was founded in 1978. Since its inception , it has helped in raising a standard in Nigerian Tertiary Education. It’s a pity students have often seen ASUU in a bad light. In this article , I’m going to give you points that suggest ASUU is the best thing that ever happened to Nigerian academics
1. ASUU strikes in the 1990s, succeeded in raising salaries and allowances and attracting massive funding to universities.
2. ASUU strike in 2011 forced the creation of the TETFUND(Tetiary Educational Trust Find ) by the then President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan .Today , TETFUND is awash in billions of naira that it disburses to universities for capital projects like building of labs, hostels , lecture halls e.t.c.
3.ASUU helped in increasing the revenue allocated to education through the revenue allocated to education through the 2006 indefinite strike that lasted for 6 months
4.1n 1999 the federal govt of Nigeria sacked 49 Uni-Lorin lecturers without any concrete reasons . All thanks to ASUU for expressing their displeasure over the sack of 49 lecturers and helping the like lecturers secure back their jobs .
