I was one of PO's cheerleaders when he was governor because I liked his prudent, program based approach to governance. However, I didn't support his presidential bid because I don't believe that anyone no matter how competent will be able to dig us out of the hole we have found ourselves.

We need fundamental structural and even constitutional reforms to surmount the challenges we face. I hope to be proven wrong but this is just the beginning of our troubles. If and when a) Ukraine and Russia get tired of killing each other and b)Saudi Arabia is able to extract the security guarantees it needs from the USA, oil prices will crash, That is when our real crises will actually begin.

i agree with you that nigeria can not be dig out by anyone without fundamental change but while waiting for that to happen of it will happen, we need someone to help us stabilize the status quo from what buhari did with reckless spending not someone that will even spend more, not someone hasty in making decision and definitely not someone with much baggages. we need someone who is tight fisted and wont waste money, someone with fiscal prudency and that person s definitely not tinubu and here we are with that fact.

Yinmu. If you go and commit crime because of this lie you tell yourselves, you will learn the hard way niyen. Same people will abandon you when your poop hits the fan.

Ifeanyi Ubah's case is more of civil case and once he agrees to pay, just like others, he will be let off the hook. I am not surprised that most oil companies are paying their debt or agreeing to pay, this is because oil price has gone up and the downstream deregulated. It is obvious you don't know that.smh.

This favourable period has made the value of the unprofitable assets of oil and gas to now enjoy better valuation.

The banks that most of them owed had written them off as impairment but now selling the oil and gas assets at big value now.

I know one that it's shares stayed for years at around N12 but now touched over N100 since this year that the oil price rally remained high largely due to the Russian-Ukraine war.
So try and get yourself educated and don't imply that the Judge is not responsible for agrreing to approve their decision to settle.

This doesn't mean they can not return back to the court if any of the parties fail to fulfil its part. Amcon will not write it off because he is now in APC .The debt is now under public eyes and nobody will go to jail for him.

is it not you again?? you that will defend anything and everything provided its to support APC..you have no conscience na, its being dead a longtime ago

Depends on what you went there for. But I can tell you no place like home (Nigeria) at the end of the day.

These advanced countries can turn you into a slave working the rest of your life to pay taxes and service debt without ever experiencing true wealth.

In few short years since I’ve been back to Nigeria I have experienced progress at a rate that would have been almost impossible over there. You see the advantage Nigeria has over those counties is that it’s easier to cut corners here. As long as you have the right connects 😉
Meaning you would never have achieved what you claimed to achieve without being duiiusand cutting corners.. Which means you are one of those destroying the countries.. You came back to the country because you couldn't be fraudulent and cutting corners I those country u were and run back to where your devilish behaviour will not be checkmated..

Politics / Re: Ogun State’s IGR Is Higher Than The IGR Of All SE States by hegelian: 3:40pm On Oct 02, 2023
yoruboid:
Dataphyte’s review of Nigerian states’ first quarter budget implementation reports indicates that many states may fall below their projected revenue for the 2023 fiscal year based on their performance in Q1.
Every year, governments at the federal and state levels make a budget for the financial year. Beyond the expenditure part of the budget, a critical component is the revenue as well as the sources (where the revenue will come from).
For states in Nigeria, the revenue to fund their budgets usually come from the internal/independent revenue they generate, FAAC allocations from the federation account, aid and grants, and capital development fund.
This report shall focus majorly on the internally generated revenue (IGR) and how states performed in the first quarter of the year.
IGR are generated by states through the collection of Pay-As-You-Earn Tax (PAYE), Direct Assessment, Road Taxes, and revenues from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
As noted by Dataphyte in a previous report, IGR shows the fiscal wellness and economic viability of a state. It is the main source of funds for states to build infrastructure and execute developmental projects. It helps states to fund perennial financial obligations associated with governance, such as fixing bad roads, hospitals, and other infrastructural activities.
For the 2023 fiscal year, the 36 states in Nigeria projected to generate a total IGR of N2.64 trillion.
Lagos State has the highest projected internal revenue, followed by River State. Ogun, Delta, Kaduna, Imo, and Oyo projected to generate at least N83 billion internally.
On the bottom of the chart are Kebbi, Yobe, Jigawa, Gombe, Ebonyi, and Taraba. These states’ projected IGR for the year is below N20 billion.
Recently, states published their Q1 budget performance reports. With four quarters in a year, it is presumed that states should have generated one-quarter (25%) of their projected revenue in each quarter. However, from the available data, a number of states fell short of that 25% revenue projection for the first quarter.
Some other states, however, hit over the 25% target.
For instance, as of the end of Q1 2023, data showed that Kwara State had generated 45.03% of its N41.04 billion IGR for the year. Delta State also generated over 40% of its projected IGR for 2023.
It is worth stating that the 42.64% IGR performance of Delta State was because revenues were collected from some IGR codes that were not budgeted in the first quarter of the year as explained in the state’s budget implementation report.
Kebbi, Ondo, Kogi, Ekiti, and Gombe generated at least 30% of their IGR at the end of Q1.
Jigawa, Bayelsa, Plateau, and Anambra achieved at least 27%.
Apart from these 11 states, every other state generated below 25% of their IGR at the end of the first quarter of the year.
Akwa Ibom, Imo, Enugu, and Katsina generated below 15% of their projected internal revenue for the year as of the end of Q1.
For some of the states, their low IGR performance was attributed to security challenges and electioneering activities.
However, for Akwa Ibom State, which realised less than 2% of its projected N47.85 billion IGR for the year, it was disclosed in the budget implementation report that some MDAs, as of Q1, had not submitted its documentations.
On expenditure performance for Q1, Delta State had spent 33.6% of its budgeted expenditure for the year. Ekiti State, on the other hand, had spent one-quarter of its budget for 2023 in the same period.
Aside from these two states, at the end of Q1, every other state had spent less than 25% of its budget for the year,
Plateau, Imo, Abia, Cross River, Enugu, Adamawa, Taraba, Benue, Nasarawa, Anambra, and Borno States spent less than 10% of their budget at the end of Q1 2023.
This wide-ranging low-budget performance in the first quarter suggests that some states may record a low-budget performance if the events remain the same in the other quarters of the year.
Wuyah Yunana et al, noted in their research that low IGR hinders the development of a state. While the research focused more on local governments, it bears implications for the respective states.
An economics lecturer at the Benue State University, Dr Princewill Okwoche, who commented on the Q1 internal revenue performance of the states, expressed concerns about low performance from many of the states, noting that lower revenues than expected would put the states in a difficult position when they try to fund their fiscal responsibilities.
He added situations like this also lead to budget deficits which push states to resort to borrowing to meet their obligations

That sickness was what gave him away. His search for medical help online was tracked and monitored over a period until he was arrested in the clinic. He was already dying from the cancer and had been convicted of murder of especially the 12- year old boy son of a top Don who squealed on them all to the prosecutors (a film had been produced for the crime), his rival and 3-month old pregnant girlfriend so he really never faced the justice system to answer for all the multiple serious crimes alleged against him.

He would have been replaced in the hierarchy and his body may likely be released to them codedly.

The police made life so so difficult for him that he never had time, never married, never had peace of mind and freedom to enjoy the wealth which the state may take over to compensate any or all of his alleged victims. For years, he kept changing locations, names, jobs and even lived underground!

At 61, he died sick, unhappy, lonely and stripped of his wealth, freedom and dignity. Ha!his pitiable sight when he was arrested showed how life itself can be vanity.

Those Italian police guys really made his life a living misery till the end and he did acknowledge them for their brilliant and patriotic job. Check my signature for free stuffs!

always sympathetic to evil people.. police made life difficult for him kill u there, what abut how he made life difficult for others, killing innocent people and corrupting the system?? i dont blame u sha cos your boss sef na colleagues in the same job and your job is to defend all evil people...oloshi jatijati

I'm not even playing or joking. Please what can this mean or what could be the interpretation?

The summary is that I had a dream that Naira Marley came to visit me in my former house (my dad's house) and we chatted and spoke a lot for a while but I can't even remember what we spoke about. In the dream, it never occured to me that Naira Marley is someone wanted or someone with a questionable character. It was a cool hangout and here is the twist, while I was walking him out on his way home which happens not to be far from my house (according to the dream) and as soon as I stepped out of my compound with him, my brother called my name and without asking in why or what the reason was, I just remember I'm walking with the wrong person and I told naira Marley to wait for me while I went back into the shop inside my compound . What I was doing inside the shop I can't even remember but I think my brother came to meet me there. However I did not go out and meet naira Marley again in that dream and I also remember at a point in the dream, I saw myself walking with Don Jazzy. What could this dream mean? Who has an idea of the interpretation

Naira Marley is tinubu whom you have been shamelessly supporting without knowing how wrong you are but someone close to you is nudging you to think twice, the outside is telling you about the timing before it will be too late for u and become a victim of your ignorance.. Don jazzy is like an epiphany for your salvation.. Our minds have a way of playing parables for us to dig deeper.. Hopefully u can think twice..
