From our inbox: When you are twenty something as a lady, there is a lot of pressure that keeps building and it gets worse when you approaching your late 20's and you are still not in any steady relationship – or worse single. I have a great relationship with my mum and you just need to listen to the kind of advice she gives me – especially when it comes to relationships. She is one of the most realistic persons I have ever met in my life. She is more of a friend than a mum. Trust me, I don’t agree with her on many advice she gives, I am almost a complete opposite on her philosophies about life – especially relationships. Truth be told, maybe what had kept me as a good and strong lady all this while is because she hits the nail right on the head and doesn’t try to sound sweet and paint life as a bed of roses to me. Okay, enough talking now, I am sure you are really eager to know the relationship advice she told me. Read the advice here: http://www.helenamag.com/the-relationship-advice-i-got-from-mum/ |

halfricanadian:I am glad I could offer them |
halfricanadian:You are welcome ![]() |
halfricanadian:And life doesn't hate you. We all have down moments, no relationship is perfect. You just have to open your heart and believe there is someone special out there made for you, that will treat you right. This is only a passing phase. |
halfricanadian:I can relate with what you are saying. First, you have to open your mind to the fact that issues may arise that will make you feel hurt. Your partner lying or cheating is an extreme issue that you may find hard to let go and come back to the way things are. That's why I said if there is genuine repentance - the person is deeply sorry and has stopped or changed from what they are doing cos they don't want to hurt or loose you. Sometimes they say they are sorry but keep doing the same thing over and over - this is a different case. I mentioned something on respecting your partners feeling on the concluding part of the article above. You can read it to get a better understanding. |
mackhunter77:That's a new angle to look at it from. But guess no one would want to function less as a human or there is no way to achieve that yet. |
Flexherbal:Very true. I buttressed this fact in the remaining part of the article. You can go read it to get more idea on the topic. |
halfricanadian:Hello halfricanadian, I understand how you feel. But we are all humans bound to make mistakes. What happens when someone hurts us is to forgive and let them have another chance so far as there is genuine repentance. |
