Again, if you've had your interview, you will know how much of a disadvantage those who share their questions have put themselves and others. In the scheme of things, an engineer and an accountant share both safety and behavior questions even if the technicals are different. It's not also about being afraid someone might snatch your job, it's simply what a competition is.
Thirdly, are you implying that NNPC will change the entire panel groups ranging close to 100 or more every week? Bias is a part of human nature and it's not a strange thing to compare two people. If anything at all, it's the whole essence of the interview process, to compare and pick whoever is considered the better person.
I agree that dressing(nobody dresses stupidly to interview of that magnitude even if they have to borrow), eloquence, confidence are ingredients but you exhume these attributes better if you have armed yourself with likely questions.
Finally, don't live in the delusion that this is not a competition or that someone from other profession does not threaten you. When you share your interview questions, even people from your own profession see it, and use it, and shine brighter at their interviews. I'm not again sharing tips but don't share interview questions under the guise of sharing tips and tilt the scale unnecessarily, for likes and commendation, in favour of people who cannot remember your name after reading your 'robust tips' on the group.
Good luck to everyone. |

Elipsis: I beg to disagree with you. First of all, not up to 10,000 people were invited. It's probably about half of that number. However, remember that this is the first major recruitment since NNPC was privatized, and they are recruiting for all their subsidiaries. They intend hiring many people.
Now, the essence of these Whatsapp groups is to share knowledge and tips. Nobody knows it all. If you go through the last 2019 recruitment topic on Nairaland, it has over 1000 pages. People shared ideas on how to scale through. They gladly did this and still got the job. This year, this topic is still on the 20th page. The Experience Hire topic is just on its first page after several months. It is not good at all.
Besides, how can a Petroleum Engineer be scared that an Accountant will take his role? How would a lawyer be afraid that if shares his interview experience, an IT guy will snatch his job from him?
There are also many other considerations that the interviewers look out for...Dressing, Eloquence, Confidence, Experience on the job etc.
Lastly, there are chances that the people who conducted the interview last week, won't be the same Panelists that will do it this week too. Everybody will be rated without bias.
Don't discourage people from sharing tips. Everybody's race is different. Thank you for your response. Firstly, the over 10,000 I have mentioned is not up for debate. Take it or leave it but you will know better in the future. I also believe you have not had your interview. After you do, you will have a better idea regarding the numbers. Beyond that, I can assure you that the number is greater than 10,000 but I will not share further information regarding that. Your second point reminds me of a group where someone asked for interview questions after gaslighting others by saying, "what will be will be." Another person responded by saying, "if what will be will be, why are you looking for the interview questions when you can simply wait it out." That's on a lighter note. There is a difference between sharing tips which the 2019 set did and giving out interview questions which the '25 set is doing. If you check the '19 set, apart from one or two person, the tips shared were general information and not interview questions. For the period of the interview, the thread was unusually silent. Questions were later shared after the interview. |

These are some of my observations regarding this ongoing exercise.
1. The number of people invited range between 10,000 to 15,000. It's massive.
2. People on Whatsapp groups think this exercise is a team work. They go back sharing their questions on those groups, literarily handing over their advantage to strangers for validation. Not sure why - maybe to be seen as nice people or because they feel they have done too well in the interview and their own fate is sealed already. This will backfire in a manner many of them would not imagine possible. The competition is crazy and the odds are very low. This is the first thing you will be told at the interview.
3. Everyone's date has an advantage and disadvantage. Those whose dates fell in this past week are at an advantage because they can set the standards for others. The disadvantage, however, is that if their questions leak, those coming afterwards would be better prepared.
For those whose interviews are at a later time, they have the advantage of getting leaked questions that put them at an advantage. The downside is that the panelist have seen it all by that time. They subconsciously compare them to those who have wow them in the past. It becomes harder at those points. |

Iweakbro: How will you advise your sons blindly? You need to sail in these waters if not, you will have kids that will do and undo, but pretend to your face. I stated clearly, to run a test with any girl you intend to go down with; this will eliminate the risk of herpes or stubborn bacterial infections.
As for hepatitis and HIV, vaccines and PreP will help you. If you stay in Delta, I will link you to an NGO that will run these tests free, and give you free PreP, lubricants, and condoms for free. You must keep taking the drugs for at least 7 days after your last unprotected exposure.
PreP is taken before exposure. It is different from PeP which is taken after exposure. You must take 1 tablet 5 to 7 hours before intercourse or two tablets, two hours before intercourse.
I've been on PreP, I only had a running stomach for a week and that was the only side effect I experienced. It's fine if it works for you. |

Iweakbro: Little kid. From all the bullshit you typed, you're scared of responsibilities and consequences for your ACTIONS.
As for money, we will all spend money on something we like, clothes, accessories, cars, drinks, smoke, women, supplements, hairs, phones, etc. The excuse of wasting money and time is a dumb one too.
Only a food will make statements without research. Sex has lots of benefits for your body. As for infection, you could get a consistent sexual partner and run periodic tests and treatment if necessary.
For viruses, all you need do is get vaccinated for HPV and the like. For HIV, get your PreP and take it as directed.
If your reason wasn't based on fear, I wouldn't quote you, but I hate to see a weak male who chickens out at the slightest discomfort. What about herpes, hepatitis and many others? How often do you recommend taking pep after every exposure? Have you even used it before? I think it's just irresponsible to parade one's self as a strong adult to justify putting one's self at all these risks for a pressure of 10 mins max. |

Mune: He resigned before he was appointed NNPCL GMD by the Buhari administration. This was after the passage of the PIB and the transformation of the company.
Whatever the case, Tinubu should not reappoint this man. If Tinubu decide to do it, then he has erred big time. Kyari need to go Oh... That's what is ideal to do. I don't know how it's possible to retain your previous position while you're CEO of the company. So, if he did, these newspapers are simply being mischievous because they know these things even if the average Nigerian on the street doesn't. |
Politics › Re: Kyari’s NNPC Tenure Sparks Legal Debate by Helloworld123: 4:40pm On Jan 08, 2025 |
BoldBrainz: Your second paragraph aptly answers your enquiry.
Mele Kyari is an employee of the government before continuing as an appointee of the NNPCL upon its incorporation.
Consequent upon your admission, he is due for retirement having clocked the labour stipulated age of 60. When you're appointed by the government, you resign from your position. It's a call to national service, you cannot do it while keeping your job. It also a conflict of interest. I think that's where many people get it wrong. Modified I just looked it up now and there's no record of him resigning from his position first. This might be the reason for these speculation. I agree with you that if he still has his job, then this issue is unavoidable. |

Politics › Re: Kyari’s NNPC Tenure Sparks Legal Debate by Helloworld123: 3:51pm On Jan 08, 2025 |
BoldBrainz: By Nigerian labour laws, he's due for retirement this month.
By corporate laws which the NNPCL are now subject to, since its incorporation as a business entity, his tenure still stretches until 2027.
Therein lies the debate. There's no maliciousness about any of it. So, on what basis is he now expected to resign? And that begs the question, where is the controversy? The only people who should resign at a particular age are those employed by the organization. Today, anyone who's 60 at NNPC Limited would retire. Those appointed like executive director and managing directors/CEO will complete their tenure. They are there on contract. |

Will I still be eligible to attend the interview, considering they require applicants to bring their birth certificate? How did you pass the screening stage? Did you lie on your DOB? If you lied, that will be an integrity issue. It may disqualify you or get you embarrassed. If not, I believe you should show up as you were properly invited. |

Would it ring in the presence f Biden or Trump? Believe me, there is always that one person. When dealing with a crowd, it will be in one's interest to know that one cannot control everyone. |

TimiRume: Importance of having elders in a church
Modified: Haven seen his previous videos from years back on this matter of phone ringing, and also the recent one where he walked out, I don't think he is wrong. In short, I agree with him. He has been preaching about the need for discipline in the body of Christ and why we need to show reverence to God's word when we come for it. Eventhough I think the person whose phone rings should be asked to leave instead of the whole congregation paying for one person's carelessness, he said he finds it difficult to ascend in the spirit when there are phone distractions. So even if the person at fault leaves, he won't still be able to impart much on the congregation( though God can be merciful).
My conclusion is that disciplinary measures like this may appear cold and unloving but at the end they would prove effective. Unfortunately, phones will never stop ringing. People who attend church come from all walks of life, some are first-timers, others are, in themselves, not disciplined. Reminds me of back in school, lecturers also have this policy but at the end, there is always that one person. |
