Good morning, great people of this forum! As we all know, the governorship election in Anambra State has been scheduled to hold this Saturday, Nov 6. But truth be told: many of the electorates do not feel secured about the safety of their lives on that day; especially going by the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in solidarity for their leader, Nnamdi KANU, who has been in DSS custody. Hence, we've heard many of the potential voters say they will not be coming out to cast their votes on election day. This, to me, is disenfranchisement. The government - both at State and federal level - need to restore confidence in the people of Anambra concerning the elections. Reason why I think the elections be postponed so that more time be given to do this. If things remain the way they are, then, the election result may not be a reflection of the wish of the people. I am not from the East; but I believe Prof Soludo will become a better governor of Anambra State than the other candidates, going by his antecedents as a former CBN governor. He brought a lot of innovations in the financial sector, particularly the recapitalization of the banks and insurance companies. He also brought the idea of decimalisation of our currency against the USD, which was largely rejected by the northern hegemony. I think he was also the brain behind the National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (NEEDS), during the OBJ administration. So, Prof Soludo has been tested and trusted! However, we can still settle the matter right here for us to have an inkling of what to expect on Saturday. Hit the 'Like' button if you think Soludo of APGA will win the election on Saturday. I am not a Tinubu fan; but I think this article is more of character assassination than... However, I still believe the odds of Tinubu becoming Nigeria's next President are not in his favor. - The office of the President of Nigeria is one that is alternated between a Christian and a Muslim. The current President is a Muslim. He took over from a Christian. For an ethno-religious country like ours, and to strike a balance, it will be safe for us to have a christian as Buhari's successor. - Although constitutionally, Tinubu has the right to contest for President. If he does, is he going to choose another Muslim from the north as his running mate? Thereby having a Muslim/Muslim ticket, which may be inimical to our ethno-religious coexistence as a nation. Which other powerful, popular and well-acceptable northern Christian can he then settle for that can guarantee him victory in 2023? Your guess is as good as mine. - The issue of corruption: I say this without mincing words that Tinubu is the face of corrupt politician in Nigeria. President Buhari-led APC administration, which is claiming to be fighting corruption, now making Tinubu the Presidential flagbearer in 2023, after all the Bullion van video...it will simply make a mockery of the so-called fight against corruption. OP, do you want to hear the truth? The truth about your post is that I didn't even understand the first paragraph of your write-up. Having said that, me thinks basically that development is always elusive to any land or region where there is chaos, anarchy, civil unrests, violence, etc. However, I want to believe what IPOB is fighting or agitating for is primarily EGALITARIANISM, EQUITY, FAIRNESS, AND JUSTICE. Seccessionism is secondary. It is visible to the blind, and audible to the deaf that the South-East region of Nigeria is highly marginalized. They are not carried along in the scheme of things in this country. When there is an unwritten agreement that the position of the president of this country should be rotated among the geopolitical zones in the country or among the major ethnic nationalities and it gets to their turn to produce the president and you say they cannot be trusted with power. What do you call that? And you expect them to seat back, fold their arms, and watch it slide away. It's not done!
