Admitwithschola: I think if you coordinate well, you can go to very top schools in the US, not just any school. There is a boy here who got into Stanford with your same GPA, but engineering. His GRE was very/excellent too and comments about his score led to a long debate. He hasn't even done MSc - US don;t need MSc for the most part.
I strongly believe your profile has a big potential for top places, or at least places just below the top.
Come back to these threads when you have your GRE scores ready. In the mean time, try to get people who will write you really excellent letters of recommendation. This was what I usually advised in my past posts. Letters are extremely important for PhD
Do you have research experience and possibly research papers beyond BS/MS projects? Thank you, I guess I have to focus on acing the GRE before anything else, as per my research experience, that's another aspect of my profile I have to improve on since I have just one research paper at the moment. |

Admitwithschola: All things are necessary in admissions. Nothing is sufficient.
That said, many programs require subject test, but there are some that only require general. Perhaps getting a long list of schools split into 'need and not need' subject test could help.
In case you also have a sound BS and MS GPA, strong research experience, great letters from your professors and maybe some working papers or publications, you will be at an advantage if your GRE scores turn out well too. Thanks a lot for your tips |

Admitwithschola: I agree with this, if you have the resources.
But it's not just taking sha, these tests have to be blasted, both general and subject. Thanks a lot for your kind response |

Thank you so much, I have a 4.69 BS CGPA, I hope to finish with a strong MS gpa as well, as per research, I have just one paper, considering my financial situation I can only afford to take the GRE general test and TOEFL |

Good day everyone, pls I need your advice, I'd be wrapping up my MS in physics soon, I want to apply for PhD in the USA, and I'm planning on taking the GRE general test, but I also found out that there's a physics GRE test and some graduate programs in physics would require one to take it, my question is this, will taking the GRE general test and TOEFL be sufficient enough for me to get into some of these programs? |

Lolzz, that fee in naira is a whopping sum , we're talking 50+k, I'd advise you refer to earlier messages on this thread, specially for UBC a method of doing the application without having to pay the app fee was discussed explicitly, but then , I don't know for certain if same approach can be used for Berkely |

Samyokporua: Hi Admin, please what do they mean by this:
"Completed scholarship application forms must reach participating universities and the local Nigerian consultant not later than April 15, 2020". Because if we just applied to the universities in the UK, amid this pandemic, does it mean the university has to grant us admission then give us the scholarship application form that we then have to fill and upload back before 15th? The scholarship just barely came out as well Exactly bro, did u eventually apply? |
