England is the current king of Europe. Last time I checked Barcelona has on record as being the worst performing team in Champions League semi final history, after being drubbed 8 2 at HOME by Bayern Munich.

the players aren't as good as the hype
there talents aren't as raw and genuine

It depends on what aspect of the game you appreciate. If you enjoy individuality and trickery, then you will like la liga, but if you appreciate team organization and efficiency, than EPL and Bundesliga is the way to go.
