This how it all went down, on the queue I noticed, the guy in window 7 hasn't been nice with peeps and was like God don't take me there, heard the convo going on btw VO in window 4 and he granted two people in front of me and was like God that's where i want... Tz my turn and mum, luckily I was directed to window 4

ME- I work in mum's company (a.o Aina Nigeria enterprises)
VO- what's the company into?
ME- we sell building material, transportation and general contract
VO- when do you plan to travel?
ME- 15 sept and will be back 28th cos I need to resume back to work on 29th.
VO- how old are you?
Me- 27
VO - at this point have come to 2 diff decision and passed my passport back with blue paper and gave mum the white paper to pick her visa in 3working days.
Me- can I know why am bn denied?
VO- you're not eligible now, check the blue paper it will explain better.

Note: no document were ask, he only collected our PP that's all

I must be sincere the VO is accommodating and friendly with us compare to other VO's..... Pls I'll like to know where I get it wrong? Special shoutout to the gurus in the house in @ladyg @seyewest @omobendel24 I app8 everyone's contribution and keep the gud work going.

His crystal ball *VO* must have told him you are young and vibrant, you can probably abandon everything for the states, am sorry bro. Just try build your tie and trust me you'd be a strong applicant in the nearest future.

A friend of mine is applying for B1/B2 I guess he filled all information himself and he encountered an issue, this was is message.


O Boi! How far I don hang o, I don fill my DS-160 form with an email, I tried to schedule an appointment and the porter revealed "username or password is incorrect" so I decided to use another DS-160 form with a different email address while trying to login as to book my appointment *missing text*

After filling my info 2 book the appointment the Porter produced a command stating my info is in their database so I cannot progress with the new email address and DS-160. Wetin I go do because I no fit continue?

In my own opinion, I believe the VO sees the reason of your application as not too tangible and also, coupled with the information you earlier filled about yourself.

Saying you want to go to the US just to attend a wedding when you are not the child of Dangote, Adenuga or Sai Buhari will make any VO to be suspicious of the motive behind the application.

Since you did not say much about your kind of person, what you do or where you work. I think the VO asking you if you had a child was trying to see if there exists something that could make you return back home to Naija to face the daily epileptic power supply, bad roads and the rest after attending your socalled wedding.

I think you met a kindhearted VO that attended to you cos it is very rare to see them deny someone a visa and give you a reason for such actions!

And that was why I said I was so surprised to hear him reply my questions, even advised me not to apply soon.

I asked him when does he think i can reapply he answered me "AGAIN" to say maybe 2-3years.

But I never wanted to be too forward because I answered what I was asked.

But I really appreciate this pointed pitfall of mine.

What you replied with was NOT asked and that was why I got confused, guess he was comfortable with my DS-160 if not he would have requested for those.Every consular has a different concept and pattern of approaching an applicant so I guess that was his own kinda technique.

Well! To my small understanding, I feel ur HOD can sign but the point still remains what happened to the Registrar or the Deputy Registrar or your RECTOR sef, or him dey claim big Boi ba?

So far its a authentic letter head and it has school seal or stamp and information incase the NA wants to make a contact with your previous Institution.

I have to say this, I don't know how I came in contact with this thread maybe na because I dey find wetin no loss but I sha found myself here.
This was an event that happened in February. If you don't mind me still posting it.

Me: gave it through the small space at cubicle 12

VO: So y are you going to the US
Me: am going for a wedding

VO: whose wedding ?
Me: ****** and ****** wedding.

VO: okay! What's the relationship BTW you guys
Me: ******* is my relative

VO: (Typing profusely) Have you ever travelled out before?
Me: Yes! Benin Republic

VO: (waited a yl and asked) okay! Are you married?
Me: No

VO: You have kids?
Me: No!

VO: Not even one?
Me: Na! My religion would not permit that.

VO: (smiled and said) I understand what you mean


At this time I didn't know what to expect either WHITE or BLUE and suddenly he went for the blue in a great smile saying

VO: am sorry at this time you do not qualify for the visa.

While packing my stuff I just took d courage to ask.

Me: Why am I not qualified?
VO: You don't have a strong tie with your country

Me: what do you mean tie. ( surprisingly this consular replied me)
VO: probably get married have a kid.

My question is what in the name of Christ was he typing while he paused before asking me d next question, don't forget I didn't want to lie because I could do that but I didn't.

Me: NY because I am a big fan of tennis and I am hoping to see the male or female us open final on so so date: my wife is also big on shopping and we have heard NY is great on good deals: we would look around and see nice tourist attractions too. And we are going to Florida cos I want to take my kid to disneyworld.
VO: what do you do for a living?
Me: I started running a school I inherited from my mom in 2008 and also floated my real estate company in 2012.
VO: have you travelled in the past?
Me: yes I have been to South Africa, UAE: Ghana and Gambia. My wife has also been to the UK.
VO: so all these travels; are they work related or what?
Me: vacation basically actually
VO: so madam: when did you visit the uk?
Wife: 2007, 2009 and 2011.
VO: so have you guys ever travelled as a family?
Me: nope(wifey and I echoed NO)we haven't: this is our first time and I am hoping we do make it very memorable

VO smiles now,I am kinda smiling too but still focused as no mans business.

VO: so madam, what do you do for a living?
Wifey: I sell baby ready to eat and drink.
VO: so sir; how many kids do you have in your school?
Me: ***
VO: don't you get involved in the day to day running of the school: the small details?
Me: nope I don't: I have very good hands and heads of department: they report back to me and I basically deal with the big stuffs.

VO: okay, your visa has been approved and you can pick up here in 3 days,
Then she passes the almighty white paper!

I hope someone learns from this the same way I learned from so many other transcripts on here in the past.

I don't think there's a good cop: bad cop there like some people have claimed here: the lady who approved ours had been refusing all day even to the person just before us: applications are treated differently and the confidence and facts being said by the applicant is the most important part of it all.
