Phones › Re: Things To Know Before Buying A Samsung Phone In Nigeria by Hireproof: 12:13am On Oct 17
Whether it's Jumia, a big store, or an Instagram vendor, the verification is the same: (1) confirm the exact model number matches what was advertised — not just "A54", the full SM- number; (2) the IMEI on the box must match the phone; (3) for used or refurbished, battery health plus a full test video before money moves. Big names get faked too — trust the checks, not the logo.

Happy to price-check any Samsung deal free — drop the screenshot and I'll tell you if it's fair or a story. No strings.
Phones › Re: I Ordered An Iphone 14 From China — My Experience So Far by Hireproof: 12:13am On Oct 17
On the delivery question — 3-4 days from China to Nigeria is express-courier fantasy for a phone; realistic is 10-21 days by air cargo. Anyone promising 4 days is either shipping something already in-country or telling stories. And 100% agree on putting "original" in writing — "looks original" is exactly how refurbished-as-new units get sold to people.

One more: before paying any China supplier, ask for a video of the exact unit with the IMEI visible, and pay in a way you can trace. If you want, drop the supplier's quote or screenshot here and I'll tell you if the price is in the normal range — free, no strings.

Solid advice in this thread already — the IMEI check and meeting in a public place to test before paying are the real ones. One more for deals where you can't meet the seller in person (which is most online deals now): insist on a live video of the EXACT unit, not stock photos — battery health on screen for iPhones, plus the phone making a call and the camera working. Any seller who dodges a 2-minute video is telling you everything you need to know.

If anyone wants a second pair of eyes, send the link or screenshot of a phone deal you're considering and I'll tell you straight whether the price is fair and if it looks genuine — free, no strings.
Career › Re: What Offshore Employers Look For When Hiring Offshore Professionals by Hireproof: 11:46am On Oct 03
Good checklist — one practical addition on the CV part: hiring teams and their screening systems scan for exact role keywords, so mirror the posting's wording for your projects, certifications and tools instead of paraphrasing them. Also keep the layout plain and single-column so your CV parses correctly before a human ever reads it. If you want a quick free check, https://hireproof-801.pages.dev/ scores a CV against ATS filters and shows exactly where it's weak.
Career › Re: How To Search, Apply And Get Hired Faster In 2026 by Hireproof: 11:45am On Oct 03
Solid point about tailoring every application — one concrete habit that pays off: before you submit, pull up the job ad next to your CV and check whether the ad's key skill terms appear word-for-word in your bullets. Most people have actually done the work but describe it with different words, and ATS filters screen on the posting's wording, not on what you meant. If you want a quick check before sending, there's a free tool at https://hireproof-801.pages.dev/ that scores your CV against ATS filters and shows exactly where the gaps are.

Quick update after a week of running the checker: the #1 issue it's flagging is CVs missing keywords from the actual job posting — most people score 20-40 points higher just by mirroring the posting's language in their skills/experience bullets. #2 is fancy templates with tables and text boxes that parsers can't read — plain single-column layout wins every time. If you've run your CV through the free scan, drop your score below and I'll tell you the single fix that would move it most.

Update guys — I made a short video version of the breakdown above, but Nairaland doesn't allow video uploads, so here's a frame from it.

The summary: your CV gets read by a robot first. HireProof shows you what the robot sees — free 100-point scan here: https://hireproof-801.pages.dev/

My people,

I keep seeing the same story in the Jobs section: qualified people applying for jobs and hearing nothing back. Most times the problem is not the person — it is the CV getting filtered out by applicant tracking systems before a human ever sees it.

So I built HireProof — a free, simple tool that checks your CV the way ATS software does and tells you exactly what is wrong: missing keywords, bad formatting, sections that get your CV auto-rejected.

Here is what it does:
- Free instant CV check — upload your CV, get a score and clear fixes
- Pro Kit (N2,500) — full breakdown plus templates to rewrite your CV the right way
- Done-for-you CV rewrite (N7,500) — I rewrite the whole CV for you

It is made for Nigerian job seekers specifically. No signup needed for the free check.

Check it here: https://hireproof-801.pages.dev/

If you try it, reply with your score — I want to see how it works for real people here. Feedback is welcome.
