"Acapulco Bay" is the 1995 American version of No One But You. The cast were mostly Americans, Spanish actors and actresses playing supporting characters.

-Tony Newman and Raquel Gardiner played Tony and Rachel
-Jason Adams, today known as Ash Adams played Max
-Maree Cheatham played Victoria

Who remembers Antonio and Raquel? Who remembers Max- who tried SO HARD to ruin their marriage and keep them apart? I'm willing to believe a lot of us still do.
NO ONE BUT YOU (TU O NADIE in Spanish) aired on NTA CHANNEL 10 sometime in 1993/1994; the second telenovela Nigerians got treated to, the first being THE RICH ALSO CRY (Los Ricos Tambien LLoran in Spanish). Actually NO ONE BUT YOU is a lot older than we assumed at the time, it was made and released in 1985.
The drama, tension and passion left us all on our seats ever week and viewers were eager for the same thing... for Max to reach his waterloo and Antionio and Rachel to have their happy ending at last.
But how many viewers know this... that NO ONE BUT YOU had not one remake, but THREE
Those who are really familiar with the story will know that SORTILEGIO (2009), which aired in Galaxy TV is one of them. The other 2 were:

-Acapulco Bay

-Acapulco Cuerpo y Alma (Acapulco Body and Soul)... both released in 1995.

I remember back then, whilst growing up in the days when we had limited television channels to watch, that we had to make do with whats available. I think it was Just NTA 10, NTA 2 channel 5, NTA 7, LTV8 and OGTV all of which were Government owned that used to operate on our airwaves. No DSTV and the only Satellite provider available was ABG.

These stations made us love watching TV with primetime programmes especially with foreign soap operas that took the airwaves. Some of these soaps/Telenovelas are the best ever and one can only reminiscence these soaps. The old folks would remember some, whilst some new folks would remember some of the new ones that have recently been aired .

Santa Barbara ended a long time ago, the final scene was Julia telling Mason she was expected their second child. One thing about that soap was its good selection of soundtracks. But I gave up on soaps ages ago, you are happy one minute, next you end up disappointed! At least with telenovelas, the main couple have their happy ending!
My favorite telenovela is NO ONE BUT YOU, the second telenovela to air in Nigeria. I loved Antonio and Raquel very much and HATED Max for everything he tried to do to them.

the guy's name is Christopher Lillicrap; British television presenter, writer and composer. I too raise a glass to the 3 Rent-a-Ghost actors, to Anthony Valentine who played the Baron in Robin of Sherwood and also to the actor who played Gisbourne (Robin's nemesis); Robert Addie- he died in 2003 from cancer. He was 43

Yes, they are all gone now The guy who played Mr. Davenport died first and the guy who played Mr Mumford refused to continue the show without him. So the actor who played Mr. Claypole continued with new characters
I remember that show, it's called "We'll Tell You A Story" I don't remember the guy's surname, but I know his first name is Christopher. Talented chap.

Clannad won a BAFTA award for those soundtracks in ROBIN HOOD OF SHERWOOD and they more than deserved it. All the songs are in their album, LEGEND- good name for it

Speaking of which, the actor who played that scary baron; the one who wanted to sacrifice Marion but Robin killed him- died on Tuesday of Parkinson's Disease. He was 76.

Yes, his village got burned down by that evil Sheriff of Nottingham. His father, Ailric was the Chieftain of the village and Guardian of Herne's silver arrow. The Sheriff burned down Loxley village and killed Robin's father later because he refused to hand over the arrow. Robin met his 'Merry Men' in prison and they all escaped, on the same day he met the beautiful lady that later became his wife.
Yeah, strongly paganistic; but it was keeping in time with the ways back then; most people were disillusioned by the church at the time because majority of the abbots (the Sheriff's brother was used as an example in the series) were greedy hypocrites, preferring to own as much lands as possible than be spiritual advisers. 'Herne the hunter' the man with antlers on his head is a character in English folklore; a spirit of the forest.

The tracks 'Robin Hood theme' and Strange Land' is from Clannad- an Irish band who are into traditional Irish folk music. A past member of this band is Eithne Brennan; whom the world knows as ENYA, who left to go solo. Three of the current members are her siblings, the other two her uncles.

Where is lola fani kayode?If she can be forgotten by Nigerians I dont want to serve this country . If the greatest female film producer of our time who gave to us people like joke silva and a host of others that we keep celebrating today can be forgotten that reveals to us that this is an evil land . Mind Bending - a series of 4 short films directed by Lola Fani-Kayode(last days,one edge,scars within,wake to the night). It explored the impact of drug use on the life of Nigerians.

Our NTA networks did not make any of these contents available to the public. This is a content that can help millions of young Nigerians with drug problems. We see contents on some of her works like mirror in the sun but none on Mind bending. Please let us together look for lola fani kayode and her great work Mind bending

It's ridiculous how great NTA shows are shown and just shelved like that, how many people still remember MIND BENDING? I certainly can't; it was the show where I first heard the word 'Cocaine' and how harmful it is. And where IS Lola Fani Kayode anyway and why can't MIND BENDING be shown to present day viewers? In fact most of the past T.V shows should be shown again, don't they know the meaning of RE-RUNS!

CRIMINAL MINDS; my favorite character is Agent David Rossi, played by Joe Mantegna (The Godfather III, Baby's Day Out, The Last Don). After seeing him as a gangster years back, it's refreshing seeing him play an FBI agent

Oh I REMEMBER!!! lol; I had a huge crush on the actor who played Robin Hood, Michael Praed, he and the lady who played Marion (Judi Trott) were so cute together. Praed left after the second series to be in the Prime Time soap DYNASTY, he was replaced by Sean Connery's son Jason; who was introduced as Robert Huntingdon. The programme was the second Robin Hood version I watched, the first one was an old movie 'The Adventures of Robin Hood' starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Haviland. I liked this series better.
