The elderly man was about 85 years old. I met him in my récent visit to Ivory Coast. Odd, he was from Anambra State, Odd again, he was a retired surgeon with WHO. Odd again he had been staying in that country for more than 50 years though he went to a Nigerian University for his undergraduate. No I’m very junior to him. Commenting on how I was enjoying the country, I told him how things were relatively better than that of Nigeria. Then I asked him: wasn’t there time when Nigeria was far better than Côte d’Ivoire in terms of everything. He said no! Never. The country had always been good other the time when there was war in that country. Please don’t get me wrong, I’m a die hard Nationalist. My love for Nigeria is unconditional but truth be told our system is very bad |

Our people self, they don’t know the difference between a full lesbian and a bisexual. That woman is bisexual. Most women if you ask me are into the acts. Go to our universities. The major problem is that most Bisexual women often like their female counterparts than the men that they married. That often result into various sexual denial excuses against the man. Watch out for most besties |

udemzyudex: Rubbish post everything is not about being manipulative, kids have brains too, the mum was the one coming while they stayed with their father, so what's your point here?
Oga zukwanike jare. If you are a male, you will soon understand the manipulative power of women about their husbands. Especially when you have your own kids. Don’t underestimate how most women make it look as if the father is not doing anything. I’m not saying there are no bad men! There are so many! But even then a good women will bring out the best in a man. You don’t even know whether the man is made to doubt if you are really his son by your mum! There are so many factors that bring out the bad sides of dads in marriage. No matter what, find it in your heart of heart to really forgive your dad and move on in life without shunning your responsibility to him as a father |

RingRoadCartel: Is this man insane? Okay, so since it didn't happen, who sai? Is Nigeria better off? Are Nigerians enjoying the fruits of Democracy? Is there really any difference BTW what we call democracy in this country and an actual military dictatorship?
As far as we know, this one is worse because in the military things are done fast and decisively, whereas what we have here is a situation whereby other arms of government still worship the executive, but still there's a lot of bureaucracy which makes policy making tideous and much more expensive.
Don't even get me started on how the so-called democratic government doesn't listen to the judiciary. They detain innocent people for as long as they like regardless of how many times the courts have freed them. Tell me, what is really different? This one is even worse because it is more expensive to run! You are either too young or to naive to know the implications of what you just wrote. |

FalseProphet1: That was during the days of PDP when there wasn't anything like tribalism in Nigeria. You can work with anyone and they'll support you with everything they have.
APC ruined all that with their divide and rule politics. Today before anyone thinks of helping you, he'll first look at your name to see if you share the same ethnicity.
I see those who destroyed this country dying before the first quarter of next year.
This I have seen. Keep on deluding yourself as if we were not in this country in that bad old days of PDP. I even use the party to contest twice. What was in PDP for anyone to remember. If they were sill in power the country would have finished totally. Jonathan knew what most of his supporters didn’t know that the country was heading to ground zero and that was why he left it for Buhari. And as for Buhari, the heavy responsibilities of governing the country that defied rational solutions, he gladly accepted without being circumspect about why Jonathan willingly accepted defeat. The rest is history. It wasn’t actually the the PDP faults that the country was as it was under them, it was cumulative of structural historical deficiencies. APC is battling to clear up the mess. Whether or not they would succeed is another thing. In short don’t blame any party. |

War is bad. Very bad. No winner. But foolish Nairaland people will be supporting one side or the other. Are there no Israelis who are Muslims? Infact, the last time I check, there were about 13% Muslims of the total population to 5% of the the Christians total population. And don’t you know there are a lot of Christians population in Palestinian about 6% as of 2023. Are they immune from the impact of the war? No. Political considerations take precedent in the Israelis/Palestinian confrontation. All are affected. That’s why we say no winner in a war. The only thing is for the world to intervene fast and bring to the end the senseless killings here and there. At the end of the day, they have to come to the negotiating table. |

I am not against subsidy removal. I feel it was rushed. All in an attempt to appear presidential on Inauguration Day & may be deliver on an election promise I guess.
I believe a good leader is proactive rather than reactive. Measures should have been put in place to cushion the effect(s) of the removal. Whatever solution he has should have been in place at least to a certain level(while Nigerians await full implementation) before the announcement of the removal by end of June as planned for by the outgone administration. I believe government is a continuum much more one that is of course he same party. I am a full supporter of TINUBU but I totally concurcur with your post. I wonder what informed that hasty announcement. Could it be because of some other reasons we don’t know. Or the fear on his part that if he didn’t say it immediately there won’t be opportunities to say it again? |
