Gshems: Another thing is the placement of your panel. Where is it facing? Is there a shade casting on your panel? No, there is not. It is directly facing the sun |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 1:22pm On May 07 |
osayuwamwen: it may be the direction we're the panel is place and ensure no shading It might be sha but I’ll find out more when I install the second panel |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 1:20pm On May 07 |
bassdow: How did you measure this ?
Asking because a lot of times, these charge controllers / hybrid inverter's displays what they are drawing.
Another ensure no Shading, and no DUST as dust sef can shade your solar panels It usually show the amount of watt it is drawing from the panel on the inverter. There is no shade or anything, the panel is directly facing the sun |

Litewriter: What's you daily average generation with this single panel? Thanks 200 to 300 during peak hours |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 8:08pm On May 06 |
Gshems: My two panels, dey give 200w-400w on a cloudy day. But when sun show sometimes I dey hit 1kw Omoh I think there is something probably wrong with my panel but I’ll see what happens when I get the second panel though. Because my single 535 watt should be giving me at around 400 during peak but all I get is within the range of 200 to 300. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 11:42am On May 06 |
adibo: Energymall has 535w panels on their website. You can try asking them. I bought my charge controller and DC breakers from them this week. You can chat their WhatsApp number, very responsive. They seem to be reliable but do your own findings as well
Update Just chatted them, they said they don't have 535w, only 620w Oh okay thanks, I guess I’ll go with the ones Jumia is selling then |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 11:40am On May 06 |
Gshems: I also use a 12v system. 2 535w is fine. My battery gets full everyday. I don't even charge with nepa. Well I think I’ll just go for one more panel then. How many wattage does your panels produce during peak sun? My 1 panel does not give me more than 250 to 300 highest at peak sun. I don’t know if it is the settings or that is just how it is meant to be |

eghos12: If this is your own then you can sell your old 535watss and buy two 630 watt since the PV input is 18a. The hybrid only allows two panel in series. Okay, thanks! |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 8:47pm On May 05 |
eghos12: From the spreadsheet online it has a maximum of 1000w PV input and 20-100v voltage input with naxuo cap at 125v and input current is 14a. Hence your best bet is 500-535w panel with maximum of two in series. I think it is 1500w PV according to what is written on the inverter

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 8:30pm On May 05 |
AyarmBoye: for a 1.5kva inverter,60a Waoh…Thos felicity 1.5 will be putting 20-30a.. It’s obvious majority of the power is going to your freezer and other things(charging and maybe fan). Just approximately 80-90 watts is going to the battery… You will need at least one more 535 watts panel, since you can’t find exact that just for 580watts,,I suggest u get 2 sef as we are approaching rainy season..if your system is 24v the controller should handle it effortlessly Thanks, my system is just 12v but with the little load I am using it to carry, I’m sure one or 2 more panels will solve my problem permanently. Also using grid to charge it while on prepaid is another expense o. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 6:13pm On May 05 |
AyarmBoye: first what’s the maximum of/Amps charging current of the inverter
What’s the capacity of your battery ? And how much dod do you get to before recharge? Angle of the panel too..
Cause normaly 40a cc should fast charge 2.5kwh lifepo4 battery even with that 535watts without many loads during pick sun The Amps charging current is 60a The capacity of the battery is 3.6kwh lifepo4 battery and most of the time, it usually get to 20 percent or 30 before charging it. Today I left it at 65 percent at 9am and I switched on my freezer only (210w). By 4pm this evening, it was only able to give me an extra 10 percent from the panel. But with grid, the battery becomes full in just 3 and half hours. At peak sun, the panel doesn’t produce more than 300 watt at most and the panel is directly facing the sun |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 6:00pm On May 05 |
bassdow: would suggest you try and buy that same Jinko brand though it'swattage must not be exactly 535w. it could be anything between 500w to 535w but ensuure it's hhalfCut so the difference between what you already got and the new one you intends buying isn't wide.
ANother is, rather than going to buy another single one, gather money buy 2 or 3 at a go as cost of transportations + installations quickly adds up HENCE you end up spending more money than you tried not to.
Another is, to me eh, personally, I see it as waste of money buying brand new inveter of less than 3kva When I could always get it far CHEAPer as USEd even if the brand na Bayo.
Hopefully others learn from these. There are solar panels sizes that can be scare. Though of recennt, most major importers are low on stock due to the conflict in middleEast between iRan and iRun Most of the Jinko panels I am seeing is below 500w. Can I go with the one of 450w? Like 2 of it?? Also, this is my first solar setup, I think it is only wise to buy new inverter and batteries than to buy used one when you have little or no knowledge about it. Even the 1.5kva is carrying most of my loads perfectly. The only appliance it cannot carry is my microwave. It carries my freezer, washing machine, Iron, Tv and fans with ease. Though once I’m financially buoyant, I’ll sell the Haisic, add money and get a bigger one. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 3:35pm On May 05 |
fuckboys: haisic 1.5kva can take up to 2000w of pv input. But 1500 is what is written on the side of the inverter or is that just a formality? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 3:31pm On May 05 |
bassdow: You mean you went into the market and bought just a single 535w bi-facial solar panel for an inverter barely 1.5kva ?
Seriously, I no blame you. na Nnairaland's advicers I blame; unfortunately, na you do the spending. Anyway sha, you can buy any other solar panel between 500w to 535w wether it's bi-facial or not. BUT please ensure it's at least halfCut so the 2 of them can match better.
While you're at it, be sure your hybrid inverter or external charge controller can handle the extra solar panel(s)
Goodluck I didn't buy it all at once. I bought the inverter and battery from Valto then ordered for the panel from CDCARE. I was on a tight budget then which is why I went for that panel. I know with time, I will add to it. It was on this forum I learnt that Jinko panel is the best then I saw the 535 watt on Cdcare & ordered for it. Which one do you recommend I get?

Hello guys, I have a 1.5kVA Haisic inverter with one 535W Jinko bifacial panel installed. The single panel is not generating enough power to fully charge the battery during the day, so I still rely heavily on grid power to top it up. I want to add another panel, but I can no longer find the exact 535W Jinko bifacial model I bought. My question is, can I add a different panel (for example, monocrystalline panel) to work together with the existing Jinko bifacial one, or must I use the exact same 535W Jinko bifacial model? |

Litewriter: Boss, any improvement on power generation from the panel? How well does it charge ya battery? Also planning to get single 590w panel, just wanna have the idea of what I should be expecting. Thanks Well it is not really charging my battery very fast. I do compliment it with grid. They said I’ll have to get one more before it can charge fast, meanwhile Grid is charging it in less than 4hrs…Also, it’s been cloudy and raining since I got it so I haven’t seen the full potential of the panel yet. The highest I have seen since I got it is 330w and it fluctuates between 100 & 250 most of the time |

cyif2003: Any reviews about d battery? It was recommended to me in this group, so I think it is okay. I just started using it, so I can’t really comment on the performance for now, but I used it from 100 percent at 9pm on 300 watts and it lasted till 4am with 38 percent charge left. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 8:12pm On Apr 03 |
Darey00: At 60A, your inverter will pull around 700-850w, just 300w shy of what an AC, hotplate, microwave etc will pull on normal operation. You normally don't put those on for long cos of the obvious.
If you must use grid, reduce your charging amperage to like 10-20A (slower) then use your solar panels. Or better still don't use solar at all.
You can also set a priority for solar if available over grid Okay thanks, I think I will just set a priority for solar if available over grid because for now, I have just one 535 watt panel and it’s not charging fast at all. 3 hrs of grid will charge my battery to about 60 percent while under heavy sun, the panel don’t give me more than 30 percent all day |

Quick question guys, I use a prepaid meter and mostly rely on NEPA (grid) power to charge my Haisic 1.5kVA inverter and its 3.6kWh battery. Will this charging process cause my prepaid meter units to drain faster? Cos I’m beginning to think I’m spending more recharging now that I even got solar |

bassdow: Induction cooker from any reliable brand is Okay.
Someone in here already suggested the MAXi brand which is a good brand. Also ensuure it's lowest wattage is within what your small inverter can carry.
That your inverter is rated 1.5kva does not mean the entire 1.5kva is always available for work Oh I think I’ll go for Maxi then. Thanks |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 4:51pm On Apr 03 |
bassdow: So long it's an induction cooker, your inverter should carry it. Worst case, you reduce the cookers power.
As for your microWave not working with your inverter, the energy requirement of an Induction cooker vs a MicroWave ain't same at all Okay thanks , I really under estimated the power of that microwave even though it is 700w. I guess the surge is way more than 1.5kva. Meanwhile can you suggest any induction cooker I can get? Make person no go get the one that won’t work |

I'm looking to get pots and kettle suitable with induction cooker. Thanks Pls is this your kind of inverter? Cos I am looking to get a cooker that can work with my inverter but I’m not even sure that 1.5kva will be able to power any kind. Meanwhile does your inverter carry microwave? I have a 700 watt Hisense microwave and the inverter won’t carry it.

osayuwamwen: cdcare don't sell fake and beside u can confirm the panel serial number on jinko website, but easier way to check the panel efficiency if u are using hybrid inverter just put a load of 1000watt during a very sunny they you see that the yield will be much closer to 535watt may around 400watt plus or u increase the charging current of the inverter There is no way I can confirm the serial no anymore since the panel has already been installed, but I know for sure that cdcare don’t sell fake, been using them for a long time to think otherwise. I think I’ll try that sunny day experiment and increase the charging current of the inverter. |
