yarimo:The people also need to help the army, protect yourself |
Once upon a time and not too long ago, very few Nigerians featured for top clubs playing in the champs league, and the ones that did either chopped bench or played only cameo roles. Today we have players not only starting for some of the top clubs across Europe in the CL,but they're also the key players for these clubs... Ademola- key player for Atalanta Boniface- Now a key player for Bayer Leverkusen Onyedika- key player/maestro for Club Brugge Adeyemi- eligible for Nigeria and doing the business for Borussia Dortmund Victor Olatunji- another player to watch out for George Ilenikhena- rising profile Nigerian football is slowly regaining it's glory back, na just bad administration and useless coaching dey worry us |

That Rwandan GK (what's his name?) He needs to be knighted by Paul Kagame and giving the option of any beautiful woman in Kigali if he has none...what a rock he was! Omo we wasted too many chances, solid performance.. you can definitely see what Eguaveon is doing tactically, NFF should keep Eguaveon and support him with everything he will need. We have another round of AFCON qualifiers coming next month, just a perfect litmus test for Eguaveon to further tune up his team. |
Rwanda aren't playing around |
SamueItem337:It's crazy VicMoses is still 33, he still got few more years of football in him. I'm glad he's back in England, hopefully Luton gain promotion back to the PL. |
I really want Eguaveon to be kept with this consortium of assistants he assembled to see what they are all about- I feel Eguaveon deserves a final redemption arc with on-field coaching rather than the desk job he has been doing as technical director. Also the local coaches; Daniel and Fidelis also look like interesting coaching prospects. Add Siasia to the mix and we might be on to something. |
I have some Aro blood and I agree to some extent...only reason why Aros didn't leverage on their might to expand into an empire like many of their African counterparts was simply because we were more focused on slave trade and consolidating our economic might and influence in the Igbo hinterland and across the coastal areas in the Niger Delta and beyond. That's why the foothold and imprints of Aro influence can be seen in places large enough to have made it an empire if we pursued that cause. There's also a reason why Aros hired mercenaries from warrior clans in Abriba, Ohafia, and Cross River areas to conquer our neighbors and make them slaves if they refused to grant us trading routes in their territories. |
Bannedlargejr:No foreign journeyman coach will guarantee you the World Cup qualifying ticket, so it's a case of going with the devil you at least know than the Angel you don't know enough to risk your chances on...except NFF pull some magic and hire a Pep Guardiola type of coach then we are better off going with Eguavoen and giving him all the support he will need to squeeze us through. |
The midfield won us this game, see how fluid we looked when Onyedika and Dele-Bashiru came in, it became an overload of chances and better ball progression. We've been stuck with the flat and lethargic Ndidi/Aribo midfield for too long that it's time to start phasing out those generation of players...the future of our midfield should be built around Onyedika- Dele-Bashiru-Yusuf- Onyeka and potentially Hamzat Ojediran from Lens and Chrisantus Uche. Iwobi will of course provide the leadership as a veteran |
humility33:Stupid me to forget the great Amodu, I'll place him right after Keshi...he comes in second for me |
Eguavoen has sealed his legacy as one of the best managers to ever come from Nigeria, he has been in the game for long and has never cowered when called up to steady the ship. The man has been vilified so much because he's the quiet and modest type but his coaching records are actually very impressive based on winning ratio. My ranking of Nigeria's best coaches will be: Keshi Eguavoen Samson Siasia. |
Kidnappers kill daughter, release mother after N10m ransom in Ekitihttps://punchng.com/kidnappers-kill-daughter-release-mother-after-n10m-ransom-in-ekiti/

Bannedlargejr:Walahi, it will be a travesty if this generation of players (arguably the most talented we've had since the 94 set) fail to qualify for two consecutive world cups, majority of our players are already in their prime 20's...NFF might as well be disbanded. But the next generation are looking exciting: Chrisantus Uche Onyedika Fisayo Hamzat Ojediran Victor Orakpo Gift Orban Vince Osuji Akinsanmiro Boniface etc Iwobi, Ademola, Ola Aina, Osimhen, Ndidi, Simon Moses and Onyeka are already in their prime and need a world cup tournament. |
Ademola's path to the African player of the year award looks sure now with that nomination. Two Nigerians winning it back to back is wonderful news for Nigerian football image. If only our useless NFF weren't the cog in the wheel of our progress... imagine having a superb generation of players yet world cup isn't looking certain! Smh. |
OfoIgbo:Because a bunch of jittery idiots are hell-bent on pushing unverified propaganda and lies just to truncate the rising Igbo nationalism within the South South region and you're naively falling for their all too familiar gimmicks? Are you living under a rock or haven't you seen the passion and inextinguishable enthusiasm with which Ndi Anioma are massively uniting to assert our Igbo identity? Just because some jobless riff-raffs with a fake blog posts some trash DOESN'T means Anioma have delineated from their quest for an Anioma state to be added to the SE. Bros, focus and don't let the enemies of Ndigbo derail the mission. The Anioma awareness summit Ned Nwoko hosted was well attended by distinguished sons and daughter from all over Anioma, the heavyweights and traditional rulers were present there; and they all consummated their quest and demands in the clarion call for an Anioma state along the SE geopolitical line. The Dein of Agbor never said any of the junk reports and quotes attributed to him (you sef check the yeye source). Go on X and see the massive algorithms of verified Anioma media persons pushing for Anioma state to be reunited with the SE- a dream the great Dennis Osadebay pushed for with Zik, which birthed the famous Igbo state union. Don't be deceived by the few loud minorities voices in the Ika/Ukwuani axis who are mostly Benin expansionists who are pushing against Anioma state, who all know why they are doing it, but it's an exercise in futility for them. Anioma state has come to stay and there's to going back. I'm a proud son of Anioma myself so I speak as a major stakeholder in my own rights. |
Osimehn has dominated all the media headlines that we've forgotten other players exist. E no easy to be starboy sha |
LMFAOOO look at the souce of your garbage report sef, of course only unintelligent Agbado morons will believe this trash. Dein of Agbor that I saw and heard speak live at the Anioma reunification event didn't say anything remotely close to the gibberish this jobless blogger just posted.Apparently the concept of an Anioma state along the Igbo socio-political interest really terrifies some people, the same Igbo-phobic clowns are all over X pushing different funny agendas with fake accounts. I'm proudly Anioma and unapologetically Igbo. |
Ukpaka:2 officers were killed not "many" Mr sensationalist |
TheLoneCitizen:Maybe not the best scenario to use considering the quality of the opposition, but we saw Osimhen thrive in a front 2 during the demolition of Sao Tome in the last Afcon qualifiers...so he will do fine with Icardi upfront. |
TheLoneCitizen:If the coach plays a 352 formation |
oloriooko:Finidi again? I really don't understand the mindset of Nigerians anymore. |
Joezinho:Finally someone that says the truth as it is...Nigerians are so hypocritical and blindly patriotic that we are contributing to the career demise of Osimhen...you need to see how his Twitter juggernaut friends are shamelessly doing "yes men" and hypemen jobs for bad display of judgement on the part of Osimhen (maybe because of the club hangouts and cash giveaways they hope to benefit from Osimhen). These guys are gawking parasites who don't mean well for Osimhen...they are the ones fueling his ego and hype that he's on the level of Drogba and other legends when in truth Osimhen is only a one season wonder who has yet to prove himself at a higherlevel. They are only around him for the media validation and champagne bottle popping charades with a mega star"...Osimhen would have probably made better career choices if he stayed around the right crowd. |
kellycute:So you're enabling the pampering of big egos because of popularity over merit? this is what you want to pass across as a virtue to the next generation? Wow... |
AwonPalaba:He should be dropped from the national team till further notice, no sentiments! we want fairness for all so other strikers in form (Dessers, Gift Orban, Arokodare etc) should be given a shot. |
chuks404:I'm not happy at another man's difficult moment much more my own countryman; I'm just truthful enough to admit that Osimhen contributed in no small part to all the bullshit happening to him...surrounding yourself with media hypemen who fail to tell you the truth will always have one outcome. Osimhen will be fine, he just needs to reshuffle his cards, sack his agents and court better friends. |
Lukaku even scored It gets even worse for Osimhen LMFAOOO |
This Osimhen matter is honestly tiring, he should go to Saudi if that's what he wants so we can hear word about this exhausting transfer saga already...but it will be on record that a supposed APOY at age 25 chose money over building a legacy just because of a wage cut offer at a far better league/club. Tbh Osimhen is probably the most controversial top player we produced in a while, I won't kiss anyone's arse cause the truth has to be said...if the new coach can't handle his drama then he should be dropped for good, Nigeria will always have decent strikers anyway. Nigerian football is bigger than any persons ego or issues. |
So many idiots on this thread, the link to the said video clearly stated the killings happened in Benue state even though the idiot who posted the tweet mischievously failed to point that out. I wonder how Enugu entered the conversation? APC e-rats are just so daft honestly. |
Where's Tella? Iheanacho should be retired from this team, I'm watching hin now and he just ain't got it anymore, he's just another unnecessary cook that spoils the broth. Solanke and Madueke should be approached and courted if NFF had some brains left in them. Lesley Ugochukwu, Christiantus Uche and Akinsanmiro should be in the frame of a call up...even Carney Chukwuemeka should be approached, these guys won't wait on England forever so why not try? Ndidi just like Iheanacho is yesterday's news, time to move on. Lastly the Ekong and Ajayi generation is getting old, the new kids coming up like Vince Osuji, Frederick's, the kid who just got signed by Villarreal etc should be prepping up. Otherwise an overall decent list with some few eyebrow raising selections. |
