ogbevireo:
I really appreciate your replies. I hope you do understand why one is asking these many questions. money is not like rain water. for instance I was recently scammed of some money when I was trying to undertake a set of CISCO training last month in Ibadan.
However my coming to Ibadan for that 'supposed' training brought me in contact with a sight at the motor park, where I saw that cassava stems from IITA were being transported to Benin City. And that rekindled my thinking and desire for agro business.
I will continue to watch the different threads you have put up on this business and will make a decision soon.
Aside: Is HOTMAS911 Debo Thomas?
Addendum question 1: If the 15% equity will be after the success of the venture, are we talking of 15% of the whole - capital + profit made after the venture or 15% of the profit made?
Addendum question 2 : Can we buy the land outright? If after the first year one is satisfied with the whole arrangements can one buy the land outright?
Addendum question 3: Looking through the proposal/investment plan, I see that the lease per annum is way above what you indicated for some of your other deals. Why is this one priced as such?
Hotmas911 is the same as Debo Thomas

The 15% means 15% of whole. In other words for managing the farm, you will yield 15% of total investment to us.

As stated in the proposal, this project is for 3-planting season so outright purchase of the land is not possible. However, we can arrange a flexible plan for you if you desire to acquire farmland.

The 7,500 stated for lease is per hectare. An acre remains 3,000naira..

ogbevireo:
Question one.

Is the 15% equity included in the cost analysis thay you sent? I mean did you build it into the prices which you stated already?

Question two.

Can the agreement be signed jointly by everyone one who eventually comes on board? Rather than have multiple agreements with possibly differing positions. Would there be room for all who show interest to come together and sign one agreement?

Question Three.

What have you handled prior to this in light of the same crop.

Question Four.

Is a 20 ton 18% return on investment really the worst case scenario? Are there any guarantees for these figures?

Question five.

Why is this plan on multiple threads? I noticed you created several threads for just this topic and another for cashew/cassava. What informed that giving the concerns of trust, scams and fraud that could be associated with a business in today's Nigeria?

Question six.

Who are you? I mean Hotmas Global Resources. Who makes up that name? How long have you been into this business? Why do you care about involving others - if itis profitable as you say, why bring in other people?
Thánk you the questions

1-) The 15% management fee inform of equity is not included in the cost. The plan is to take the management after the success of this venture.

2-) Getting different peopl together to sign a joint document may be hard as there are some investors who will not even show face all througj this project. There is no special consideration for anyone.Everyone will have the same agreement.

3-) We are farmers on our own and a reputable farmland seller. Very often intending farmers wishes that we manage their farm for them which is always challenging. That was why we propose a joint venture on a simple crop so as not to discourage a lot of people.

4-) Every available statistics and real life experience points to this. You can also research on the figure given.

5-) Our aim is to make many people see this opportunity and that was why we posted it on several sections( invsetment and business) but the sections' moderators keep pushing them back to agric section. That is why it look like multiple topics.

6-) Hastom is an agricultural real estate company and as stated earlier this project was motivated by many request for farm management. We are big farmers ourselves. You pay us a visit, we would love to host you in Ogbomosho..

Once again thanks for bringing this on.

NB: I originally sent my mail to you via my wife's profile as I was using her phone when I saw your post.
Please go ahead sir.

Now that we are going into managing a joint farming venture, you should expedite your plans of being a farmer in Ogbomosho.

AgricultureCassava Investment For The Busy Enthusiast by hotmas911(op):
A JOINT VENTURE, WHY?

Can you manage the farm for me? Can you
help us get a farm manager? Please advise me
on crops I can go into, do you know where I can
sell my farm harvest? What security measures
can you guarantee on your farmlands? These are
few of the numerous concerns of potential
farmers that approach us daily via calls and
mails and it is not an ordinary concern to us but
also a situation that must be salvage.
We have a reputation of being a credible
farmland seller in Nigeria and not just that, we
are farmers ourselves. However, multiple request
for managing 10 acres, 15acres some even
30acres and more for individuals is becoming
overwhelming considering the fact that we also
have our personal projects. So we felt instead of
discouraging a lot of people because we wish to
concentrate on our own project, we can find a
way of incorporating them into ours. Instead of
going through the rigors of managing many
small farms, we can merge all interests (i.e.
aspirations and resources) together and manage
a bigger joint farming venture.
We are not trying to trade with people’ resources
as we are also fully involved in any project we
propose on this platform.

CASSAVA, WHY?

1. As it stands now, the demand for cassava is
not about to drop because even multinationals
are being forced to source for their raw materials
locally. Check from the local price of the most
common cassava product, garri and also several
cassava derivatives like starch, ethanol etc.

2. With the current economic crisis, the
government is unrepentantly obsessed with
boosting the nations export market.

3. Cassava poses little threat when it come to the
risk factors in crop farming as compare to other
crops

4. It is extremely easy to manage compare to
crops like maize, vegetables etc.

5. Cassava has diverse industrial usage hence,
the demand for it is unimaginable. The industrial
usage include cassava chips widely used in
making animal feeds, extraction of starch,
ethanol, cassava flour which is being encouraged
for bread manufacturers etc,

6. It has a very comfortable range of rate of
returns(ROR) ranging from minimum of 18% to as
high as 100%

THE PROJECT AHEAD

Considering the above reasons and by some
pressing demands from some agric-business
enthusiast, we are offering anyone that have ever
wanted to give up on farming a chance to be part
of our cassava project.

LAND ALLOCATED: 150 HECTARES

PROJECT DURATION:
The project will last forTHREE PLANTING SEASONS (review will done
after then to decide if to continue or not.) Also,
the calendar year will start from the day of
planting and planting period is 12months.
NOTE: Any cost stated is for the first planting
season.

PROJECT MODALITIES:

Interested farmers/investors will buy slots in the
150 hectares available and the minimum
obtainable is 1hectare
Investors who took part from the first year will
also have a chance of increasing their slots if they
desire after the first year.

FINANCIAL PLAN: Is contained in our prepared
investors’ guide (drop your mails to get a copy.)

GROUND BREAKING: We are kicking off the land
preparation on 20th of June 2016, so more
detailed enquiries, registration and making
commitment starts tomorrow, 12th of May and
ends by 15th of July.

ADVANTAGES OF THIS VENTURE
1. Profit margin is guaranteed no matter the initial
set up cost. For instance in the first year, the cost
of buying a slot of 1hectare (2 and half acres) is
169,100 and the minimum yield on a cassava
hectare is 20tons. The average cost of a ton of
cassava is about 15,000(though the present cost
in our area varies between 20,000 and
25,000naira). Therefore a hectare of cassava is
capable of returning minimum of 130,900 as
profit.

2. Cost of investment will drop drastically by up
to 40% while the potential profits stands on the
rising side. This means that after the first year,
initial cost of clearing and buying stems would
have been eliminated. For instance, 169,100 for a
hectare will drop to about 101,100 naira while the
profit still soar high

3. Stress of management is taken away. This is
because we are taking care of that.

4. Every budget level is accommodated (1
hectares above).

5. Reliable management and security guaranteed.
