Phones / 5 Things To Avoid When Using Your Mobile Data For Hotspot by howtong: 4:28pm On May 08, 2017 |
1. STREAM OR DOWNLOAD HD VIDEOS Who doesn’t prefer high definition movie or tv series over standard definition. HD video may look leaps and bounds better, but it consumes so much bandwidth that if you’re not careful you can blow through a monthly data plan after watching a single movie or two. You can usually change from HD to SD directly on a YouTube or Vimeo video page or embed, and you can choose to watch lower quality video through apps like iTunes too. 2. ENABLE AUTOPLAY OF VIDEOS ON FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM OR TWITTER Autoplay of video is a sweet feature available in all the major social media platform. So if your friends share a lot of videos, and you have autoplay on, you will waist a lot of data. If you will like to disable this feature on Facebook, tap More > scroll down to Settings > Videos and Photos > select Auto-play and slide to disable “Smart Auto-play.” Then choose “Use Wifi Only” or “Never Play Videos Automatically.” In Instagram, go to your profile > Settings (top right) > Preload videos > select “Only on Wi-Fi.” 3. USE HOTSPOT OR TETHERING FOR AUTOMATIC WINDOWS UPDATE Another way to waist your data is having automatic windows update on, on your PC while connecting to your mobile data hotspot 4. DOWNLOAD AS MANY TORRENTS AS POSSIBLE After downloading a large file using torrent, and you forget to stop seeding the torrent, your data will run out in a day 5. DISABLE PASSWORD ON HOTSPOT/WIFI God loves a cheerful giver. God also loves a cheerful wifi owner. Don’t tempt your friend with a free wifi if you don’t want your data to finish before you want Source: https://how-to.ng/2017/05/finish-data/ |
