Yeah good advice, PTDF will not get admissions for nobody cause they told us the same thing last year, only for them to tell us to go seek for admissions after the list came out in June, which was too late for some schools, especially German/France scholars (but one can still defer to next year). So if you think the school you want have an admission deadline, I think its best to apply on time in order to meet up, but stop expecting PTDF to do things for you especially in term of gaining admissions.

I got the same message too, what does it mean? Is it everyone that applied to daad that got the message or few people? If it's not everyone, are you thinking what I'm thinking?

I'll also advice to apply to the German Universities and get admission and upload it. Let's see where this leads too.

No that is not true (for my last year at least), I am from Adamawa and I did my interview in Zaria. I'm sure if that was the case it will be stated/adviced by ptdf.

Thanks so much for this. Someone dropped a post here sometime back that it's better to go for the interview at the state within your geopolitical zone of origin for instance I'm from the south east, that I should select to attend the interview at Enugu, that this gives an edge instead of competing with those from a different geopolitical zone that differ from mine. How true is it, was your case any different? Thanks.

Yeah sure, I remembered some scholars had the same concerns last year. But I think this year will be different considering the fact that the shortlist will come earlier than it does last, so successful scholars will plenty time to seek for admissions.
Again its your choice guys, there is no harm in having an admission before hand

while this is good advise, for MSc there maybe some programs with early deadlines, people looking to study in one of those programs e.g Imperial College London or IFP school should look towards securing admissions, especially if they are particular about attending that school/program

Hello guys, I am one of the successful candidates for uk phd last year and I will be here from time to time to answer you Qs.
For those wondering if PTDF will secure admission for you, NO they won't, you will be responsible for securing admissions yourselves for all the overseas scholars.
Secondly, I will advice for you guys to chill and get the award 1st then worry about getting admissions later, cause I assure you, admissions won't be a problem once you have sponsorship (I got mine in 4 weeks and its a phd in univ of Manchester).
Lastly, once you have the award, you are free to change university of choice so far as the university is among the ptdf approved ones (it doesn't have to be the one applied for while submitting ptdf application), for uk scholars at least, don't know of other countries.
