This actually happen based on any of these factors:

1. Using an architect as a Building Engineer
2. My brother have building experience and he can build it with my budget
3. Cutting corners and compromising quality
4. Prefer cheap bidder

Now it is penny wise pound foolish, the blame will now be on the innocent old people you brandish as witches.

You know, not everyone is open to the truth and your contribution is just like doing more damage to people who read your 1st & 2nd preferred opinion. Even if you're trying to promote your brother. You need not talk bad about the profession of Architecture or Architects who are the main designer and backbone of all Designs basically.
And yeah, Architect design but client sometimes choose to do things their way saying they've got relative or someone who has little or no knowledge concerning construction, material wise, and years after you see the same thing attached in the op post happen.
So please let a profession be when you don't know their mainstay or core values in the community.
If things were adhered strictly to in this lawless country as it done in every countries. I don't think your brother will be opportune to work on a single building except he's licensed. Same as Architects too.
