It was not the "turn of the South" in 2007 after 8 years of Obasanjo but Ojukwu contested the presidency under APGA. No Northerner cried about it. Zoning is purely a party affair. Anyone saying otherwise is being clever by half. With regards Atiku’s chances, despite the Southeast/Southsouth giving Obi 95% of their votes in 2023, Atiku came second with 6.9m votes in an election where Northerners carried Tinubu on their heads and gave him 5.6m votes. You can do the maths or continue to bury your head in the sand. The choice is yours.

Atiku, apart from being broke and can't rubbostly finace a presidential election campaign like he used to do, has no path to victory, that's why his pre-campaign activities have been relatively quiet. Tinubu will "defeat" with wider margin in 2027, nothing will happen.
