Unfortunately cowrywise isn't what it used to be in terms of being able to decide for yourself what fund manager to choose. I'm not sure there's much guiding to do with the new update, they basically just choose for you by averaging the offers on their platform.

Brilliant suggestion but the only hole i see in this is MMF investment will lose compounding effect power if she does this over time essentially turning MMF to basic savings account when she keeps moving the returns into equity (eventhough she isn't sure of the long term outlook of the stock market), we all speculating here.

In that ten years, MPR might be hiked again, people will move funds from Stocks back to MMF and ASI might dip due to that, will you now suggest she move the money back into MMF (of course that a loss after the dip).

Key point to consider is — Equity is suppose to grow money and MMF is meant to compound money so you will always lose when you rob Peter to pay Paul.

Anything involving "NAV" will always come with red. Red is good, as it makes the market interesting and more bullish. No matter how high the daily interest rate and amount invested in MMF, it can never beat one bullish month of equity fund. Finally, balanced funds, fixed income funds, and equity are all for the long term, like 1-5 years.

Oh ok thank you. So looked like we weren't favorably disposed to balanced funds initially, i remember you and Beeron even advised against them in the early days of the thread. Can i ask what changed?

I get the feeling this is aimed at satisfying the other providers with little or no subscription on their platform. people have just decided to go for the higher rates so they probably had to do something to bring patronage toward those ones too...maybe a condition to allow listing on their platform( this is purely speculation). I hope this does not backfire on them

Not the way it looks like presently except you go invest directly with Trustbanc

Who is seeing this update that Cowrywise just introduced? or is it just me? you cannot select individual funds to invest in again, it now comes as a basket of different funds.

Now, I'm unsure what's happening because, after I was finally able to log in successfully, the issue is that the money I transferred to them isn't yet reflecting in my account. Please, is this normal or do I need to wait for them for it to reflect? Please, enlighten.

Thank you, I eventually did complete the registration, unfortunately there's no end to the errors. This is while trying to subscribe to the Fixed income fund

If the registration is this tedious, i wonder what the redemption process will look like... what's with the we are offline thingy? Are they never online?

Both are available in the store. Trustbanc is called Prime pro and First ally is Myinvestar

We really need to know how things work especially on this side of the divide. What you just referred to is the maximum cap applicable and payable to customers of licensed MDBs by the NDIC if for whatever reason they go under. NDIC has no business with asset managers so I'm not sure where the said sum would come from.

A lot of people often just put them in the same bag ,(banking and Asset management) probably because the notable ones here have banking divisions or are some offshoot of a bank, so you see people erroneously just lump them together

Legally, maybe... illegally, definitely not. There are loads of people who are illegally richer than dangote in Nigeria.

I think the cowry investment portfolio is not classified as mmf or equity. It is probably just their own investment package, reason it is not on the SEC list.

Yeah could be, but then this is basically a list of all investment schemes by fund managers as regulated by the SEC so me thinks it should fall under a section, any section even if not MMF

Cowrywise is like a platform via which u can access a pool of assets managers. But what I don't know is if something should happen to cowrywise platform, how can one access his funds since one didn't register with the asset managers directly? & It seems trustbanc is only accessible through cowrywise, because I don't understand the trustbanc app.

Yes but then they have their own funds too, the Cowry Investment Portfolio. different from the 3rd party funds aggregated on their platform

Yes, I will try Halo after doing my verification about them from the SEC website. They are on par with the CSOF. You can give them a try as well. Check the price of all the fund managers, and you will see who is doing well. Attached is the Excel file. Check under equity.

So going by this list from SEC, does it mean Cowry's Investment portfolio does not fall into the MMF category seeing as it is not included in the list of funds in that category

I think he is referring to the daily accrued interest, which is not shown in the blunest app.

oh okay, i think the best that i have seen as regards an accurate record of the daily accrued interest for MMF is the Cowry platform...others are riddled with discrepancies

I just want to confirm from people who use stanbic mmf, I initiated withdraw from my account on 15 /01/26 until now response or whatever why there is a delay.

Have sent mail to them twice now still no mean fully reply before they are very reliable but this days they are just doing anyhow if this continue I plan to move all my cash from them.

Put a call across to them
