In Airport Operations and Management, there is the roles and responsibilities of the Airport Operator. This includes but is not limited to provision of Air stairs ( also known as Mobile Stairs or Flight Stairs), marshalling, ramp management, parking gate assignment, etc. In the case of Bauchi Airport, we must let the public know that even though FAAN is just a national airport authority, there are not the sole Airport Operator and Manager of Bauchi Airport, the Bauchi State Government is the one filling this role.

So, what you have seen happened with the Aero Contractor Flight using a ladder to disembark pax is no function or fault of the Airline (Aero) or FAAN as it is none of their responsibilities but that of the Bauchi State Government's Airport Management.

Therefore the incident on Saturday only underscores and emphasize what we as experts in the field of Aviation as long been agitating that Government has no business running airports.
