90% were eliminated

Can you solve this simple mathematics? Let see who will give us the best answer
If I was handed the script as it is in the picture as my question paper, I would write 6.3 as my final answer.

With the context that the heading is 90 percent were eliminated, is also part of the question.

"An interviewer won't write 90 percent were eliminated to refer to disqualified candidates.
What have I got to do with that kind of information".

If you got 63 you are close... My thoughts anyway.

Modified
6.3 would be rounded to the nearest whole number, which is 6.0
6.3 =6

Unwanted Advances in the Bank: Seeking Advice

Hello fellow Naijans,

I'm reaching out for some advice on how to navigate a tricky situation at work. I'm a bank staff, and I've found myself in a bit of a pickle. Some of my married female superiors and colleagues(all married )have been making advances towards me, and I'm not sure how to handle it.

The workplace dynamics are already complex, and I don't want to rock the boat. However, I also don't want to compromise my values or feel pressured into anything I'm not comfortable with.

They make me feel bad; like I don't want to date them when I am just being considerate of how their husbands would feel and how I would feel if it were me ( I am not even looking at it from any religious view)

Note: Some of them resulted to hostile interactions when they see that I jokingly but firmly won't give in.(Telling the superiors is not an option because they are cliques with the others and also make their moves at me too).

Has anyone else experienced something similar? How did you handle it? I'd appreciate any advice or insights on how to maintain professional boundaries while also keeping my job.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Kobojunkie:
Your premise is not taken from the book because nowhere in the compendium of books is it stated that your Bible( or the selected books contained) is in fact the Word of God. Also, the religion of Christianity which serves as the source of your claims is not mentioned as being a part of that contained in any of the books. undecided
I no go quote scripture to prove you wrong or prove me right!
It is not my bible.
I was done with the conversation ✌️

Kobojunkie:
First and foremost, where in the Compendium of books referred to as your bible do you have the claim that those books all make up the word of this God you speak of?

2. The problem here does not concern the books but the source of your premise, which does not seem to be the book or anything presented in it. A better question would be, "Should the source of your premises be trusted?" undecided
Kobo guy,i am talking about the Christian context which refers to the bible(scripture)as the word of God that we know was hand written by men.

I was asking if the same bible says we should not trust any man are should we trust the books of the bible written by man.
My premise is from the bible that says the scripture which is the bible is the word of God.
Mind you i was talking in Christianity context.
Or was your comment a rhetoric?🤔

Well let me poke the bubble:
Anyone you found in politics today are not Christians but disguised agents of Satan. smiley

True Christians don't go into gospel music neither do we listen to gospel music.

It's the keyboard issue i meant to say "Bible God"

I have answered you several times.

YES is the answer because they never wrote their own ideas but that of God.

To help you see reasons with the Bible think of the time Moses (the writer of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy and Job) walked the earth people regarded as intellectuals and enlightened thought the earth can't be without something supporting it but see to what Moses wrote at that same time:

He (God) stretches out the northern sky over empty space, Suspending the earth upon nothing. Job 26:7

Again when intelligent people back then keep wondering where the waters are stored in the sky anticipating a time when water may finish in the sky and no more rains Moses wrote this:

He (God) draws up the drops of water; They condense into rain from his mist; Then the clouds pour it down; They shower down upon mankind. Job 36:27-28

And when people were scared about traveling thinking they could get to the edge of the earth and fall to where they don't know Isaiah wrote this:

(God) dwells above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers. He is stretching out the heavens like a fine gauze, And he spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. Isaiah 40:22

Please how did Moses know that the earth hangs upon nothing?
Who taught Moses about the water circle we now learn in school?
How did Isaiah know that the earth is spherical (round) and that it's inhabitants are glued to it like insects?

Well the answer is simple my friend: these men aren't writing their own ideas rather God is directing them on what to pen down! 2Timothy 3:16

Aha, I finally understand your view 🤔. It's more from a legal perspective. That's why you have to test it first. Test every word, make your testing complete!—why do you think scientists scrutinize the bible greatly? scientifically, mathematically, historically and factually!

You can use pre-existing methods or develop your own! I will leave you to choose. Once you have verified for yourself 🙃 then you can guarantee others!

You can't remove a mole in another when you have a beam in yours!
God forbid.
Na you bring testing anology come now you say na me .go read the post from beginning.I am posting this without checking twice if i started using the word testing first.

I am asking a question which you didn't answer well citing reasons.

Oboy I no get that time to develop any foolish method not to talk of verifying it and then guaranteeing others.

Do you think you have removed all the mole in your eyes?🤔

Well, you will keep going in circles. You must trust the truth that man wrote on behalf of God, knowing fully well that God cannot contradict himself 🤨. Using that as a form of truth, you can work forwards on the bible. Also we are limiting the methods of testing to scientific principles constrained to scrutinize the bible! if you will to use your life as a form of proof no problem but you have some assumptions to make!
The bible says trust no man which includes (everything a man writes).
Hope you are not trying to make us ignorant of the fact that what they wrote involve principles and if you want people to trust what they wrote, you are standing as a guarantor that if they don't get results you will take accountability for their losses?

Why would i use my life as proof for what i don't trust?

POLITICS!
That's the only problem leading humans to killing their fellow humans even though they're calling on the same God.

So God promised to solve that problem in the midst of His own worshipers:

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. ‭Isaiah 2:2-4 NIV‬

This prophecy is undergoing fulfillment today in the gathering of true Christians globally as they are using what they found in the Bible to resolve their disparities peacefully among themselves divert their resources into production of food and information materials stop producing buying selling and using of weapons and vow never to raise weapons against anyone again!

Throughout the world today a group is moving swiftly as if a spirit is directing them to search for friends of peace in every home {Luke 10:6} and they have used what they learned from the Bible to uproot hatred to the extent that none of them throughout the world is into politics or military services.

So when next you hear of WARS happening in one place or another know today that the true worshipers of the Bible are no part of such killings because their leader (Jesus) taught them to love their neighbours as themselves {Mark 12:31} love and pray for their enemies {Luke 6:27-28} and have deep love for their fellow believers! John 13:34-35

No group or organization despite all the efforts of intellectuals throughout the centuries have been able to stop people killing people. In fact members of all the organizations the world have founded just to unite the world have failed woefully and the killings have continued until now {Revelations 6:3-4} but among God's own worshipers it has been squashed due to the power of God's word found in the Bible! Hebrews 4:12 smiley

That's why I asked you to form an axiom of truth and from this create or use methods to determine the Truth in order for you to trust it.
Should it have been written by wind?

If i am to start experimenting anything i can't start experimenting something from what i don't trust.
Trust no man that is what the bible says (that includes his books he wrote with his hands, etc)

What would i use to test the axiom of truth formed,is it not my life?
If it is your life, don't you, think it is safe to test what you have been told not to trust who wrote it being very careful?
Like you said, what if what you have tried the truth you tested and it worked but fails or develops a fault who would bear the consequences?🤔

My bad, I must have conflated your question with that of antichristian's question on reliability.

We should trust God not man! We are advised to test all scriptures by doing so we came to a conclusion that the bible authors wrote this without ulterior motives in heart!

So, yes! You can trust that they disseminated the word to the best of their understanding!
If i should trust the books of the bible written by man would it not counter the same bible that says trust no man(his motives, ability to disseminate things etc ?🤔

My use of flesh there was a connotation!

Even Jesus suggested you use fruits to justify the substance within a man!
It's very hard to decipher the intentions of man unless you have references to his works, behaviors and actions!

Let us use what they have written and test for truthiness! That's the method employed by scientists 🧐, Using this they came to a conclusion that the bible had an high degree of reliability! Even if you doubt then you can formulate your own method of evaluation!

First, formulate your own axioms then develop your own methods. Finally, apply your methods and come to the conclusion you desire!
I think if I get you right you have deviated from the topic.
It is a simple question that asks "should we trust the books of the bible written by man?"
Your answer should be yes or no 🎯giving reasons🙏.

Of course i wasn't with any of the writers but there is always a way to verify what you are told.
For instance we learn that two plus two equals to four no one can say exactly who discovered it but ever since we've been making use of this it works perfectly if applied exactly as we are told.
The same applies to God's word.
Do you know God promised something that will help us to be sure that the Bible is from Him? smiley

Gabrielshow24:
Coherence matters!
Unlike the Quran, the bible has an high degree of internal coherence 🤔.

The bible authors tend to progress towards a certain theme! If truly Peter wrote in flesh it will be obvious just like the Quran is today as a plagiarized copy of something!

The main theme of the bible leads to the context of messiah! —Salvation of mankind. Whether you believe Jesus as a messiah or not is a different matter.

You don't have to believe peter, Paul etc wrote under the influence of God but you can indeed test what they wrote if indeed it can be construed as divine inspiration!

The same way a teacher doesn't know whether or not it's the actual student that indeed wrote the paper but she can compare in cases based on some yardstick he/she can formulate!—Hence there must be an axiom that other methods are built, the axiom ultimately will be truth(coherence) etc!
What?If Peter wrote in flesh?
Don't make me laugh.
Was it is shadow fingers or spirit fingers he used in writing the books he wrote?
Trust no man means don't trust even the shadow of a man (the spirit and soul of a man is also part of a man) a man can sell his soul for money or use his spirit to serve something else and tell you he is getting inspiration from God (fact) the people who wrote the book of the bible are no exception .
We have been told not to trust any man(body, soul, spirit)

Are you comparing the Quran with the bible? 🤔
I don't have that time.

If i am to test what i don't trust?I won't ,unless it is the last meal in the world and when i want to test it,i should be be very careful with it, don't you think so?
How would you test what you don't trust be sincere using investments etc as example?
Should we trust the books of the bible written by man?

MaxInDHouse:
@ Psalms 146:3 we read:

"Do not put your trust in princes Nor in a son of man, who cannot bring salvation"

The import of these verse is that we are not to trust politicians promising us lots of things they can't fulfill because they can't determine whether they will be alive in the next 10 seconds.

Note the first line
"Do not put your trust in princes"
This means those ruling the earth.
Then it goes on to say:
"Nor in the son of man"
Why? Because they can't SAVE you.

The next verse goes this way:

His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish. Psalms 146:4

At death the source of his energy (spirit) goes out like power outage and he is buried that's the end of all his promises.

This totally differs from inspiration from God because it's like a boss sending you a message through his secretary the words aren't the ideas of the secretary!
Where you with John, Jeremiah or Jonah even Job to confirm that they received inspiration from God before writing their books?

Since we are told not to trust a man would it be wise to trust the words of a secretary he said he was told by his boss to say.

Remember the servant of Elisha who deceived the man that was healed by saying what his master didn't say.

We are told not to trust men,if Peter could lie thrice, why should i trust his book?

A man only claims inspiration from God, Where you with Peter,Paul or even Moses to stand as a guarantor for them that truly all they said is the truth? and are you trying to say we can trust a man?
Doesn't trust no man means you are not to trust what he says his master said, trust what he says for himself promising you that it can save youetc. Apply capha!
Read between the lines. Don't trust a man,was Peter, Paul, Job,John etc not man(men)

Should we trust the books of the bible written by men when we have been told to trust no man?
Christianity EtcRe: Should The Books Of The Bible Be Trusted? by IblivinProgress(op): 8:46am On Apr 13, 2025
MaxInDHouse:
Good and thought provoking question!

First of all let's do some Bible study.

Jesus was a man who lived some 2,000 years ago he said:

I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me. John 5:30

Jesus is called the WORD of God {John 1:1; Revelations 19:13} because unlike all other humans Jesus follows God's thoughts so whenever he speaks we can fully trust in his words.

But when talking about other humans we are sinners that has fallen short of the glory of God {Romans 3:23} so unless God decides to use us as spokesman we can't get things right that is why Paul said:

All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness. 2Timothy 3:16

And Peter seconded him saying:

For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit. 2Peter 1:21

So you can trust the Bible completely as God's word not man's because the books were written under inspiration from God just as you will trust a mail from your boss even though it was typed by his secretary.

God bless you and may you have peacesmiley
The words of Jesus was reported by man(fact).
Jesus never wrote any book(s)
Should we trust the report of a man not forgetting the fact that the same bible says trust no man?
Christianity EtcRe: Should The Books Of The Bible Be Trusted? by IblivinProgress(op): 8:38am On Apr 13, 2025
I didn't start the thread to be a religious bashing thread.

I want to no if my doubt can be cleared beyond reasonable doubt.

The facts are obvious.
You can say if you trust the books of the bible and why. You should be able to counter the fact that the bible says trust no man and every word of God is true.

If you don't trust the books of the bible you can also state your reasons.

So i still ask the question, should the books of the bible be trusted?
Christianity EtcShould The Books Of The Bible Be Trusted? by IblivinProgress(op): 5:48am On Apr 13, 2025
I am asking this question to see if my doubt can be cleared beyond every reasonable doubt.

The bible (word of God) was written by men which is a fact.

The bible (word of God) says "trust no man"

The bible (word of God) says"every word of God is true"

If every word of God (Bible) is true that means we are to trust no man,i.e if a man said God said he should write something or do something he should not be trusted.

Now the question is should the books of the bible be trusted since we can't dispute the fact that men wrote it with their hands whether they say they were inspired by God or not we were not there with them to confirm.
