RomanceIt Is Normal And Expected For 20 Something Year old Men To Be Broke by Ibrahim1985(op): 5:09am On Apr 20
Many modern women in their twenties see young men in their 20s as broke. They miss out on serious potential husband because they cant date a broke guy. What do one expect? Even a well earned respected cardiologist was a student when he was in his twenties. Most male students generally are not rich expect he is a successful yahoo guy. Many men in their twenties are still looking for work or at the very beginning of their career. So yes , he is expected not to have money and be broke. The only set of men who are rich in their 20s are professional footballer, famous musicians or actors or a rich man whose is from a wealthy family or someone who is into smuggling hard illegal drugs.

Do not confuse broke as lazy or irresponsible, please know the differences. Just because he is broke, does not mean his condition is permanent.

PoliticsJust Because Naija Work For You Just Not Mean It Work For Everyone by Ibrahim1985(op):
Some people are doing very well in Naija and have this general assumption that Naija is good for everyone. If petrol is N2000 or more, they will not feel it at all because it is still cheap for them. Naija is sweet for them because once you have money- Naija is paradise.
Late legendary Fela used to call such behaviour Ikoyi Blindness. The well to do not see anything wrong with Nigeria as long they are fine, have drivers to drive them around with security or police escort, housemaids to attend them ,gateman to open their gates, people to hail them and ask for money. They love when elder men or women even greet them first. Any criticism of a current Naija is being ridiculed. In fact they hate when people protest. They lack and fail to understand that many Nigerians are going through inflation or fail to have empathy. Na weitin Fela dey call Ikoyi Blindness
Foreign AffairsJapa To Other Countries Is Not A Crime, Haters Will Always Hate Nigerians by Ibrahim1985(op): 5:29pm On Apr 08
With all xenophobic or racist attacks on Nigerians, many of these people forget their ancestors too were once immigrants who endured and suffered from their own countries due to war, famine, religion presecution and so on. Their ancestors japa in millions because their home country was very bad. So Japa is not new and not a crime.
To the Nigerians who are doing criminal activities in south Africa, Europe, America and Asia, you dey f up big time, you don spoil naija images and even well meaning Nigerians are having it hard to travel.
To the South Africans who believe all Nigerians are criminal and cannot differentiate between the bad ones and good ones, you can continue to hate. Nigerians are not going anyway until South African government do a visa ban. Till then noise makers continues to make noise.
The funny thing is Nigeria is home to many foreigners and we do not disturb them like they disturb Nigerians in their home country

CareerDear Nigerian Banks, Stop Paying Your Fellow Nigeria Workers Very Little by Ibrahim1985(op): 12:55pm On Mar 29
Nigeria Banks owners have been very disappointing to say the least. It is no secret that the owner of these banks on are banking in cash no matter the economy. But you pay your low level employees or even higher employee so little that it is embarassing. These employee work so hard and get paid very small compared to what these banks are making. While the ceo or bank owner earn in millions of dollars or pound, they pay their employee thousand in naira or minimum wage. To the bank owners , step up and pay your employee a reasonable wages in this economy. That is why some foreigners come here to Nigeria and pay Nigerians insulting salary because if Nigerians are doing this to Nigerians. Then why should a foreigner get blamed. Sometimes it is not the government, but the heartless bank owner/Chairman who only care about his or her pocket. Why would bad employees steal money from people account when they work tirelessly , and get paid very small.
How I wish these banks can get sued by respectable lawyer in a class action suit by Nigerians and are order by the Court to pay those Nigeria who money got stolen by bad bank employee.

Foreign AffairsEurope And Arab Countries May Forcefully Open Iran Strait Of Hormuz Blockage by Ibrahim1985(op):
Whether one disagree or support America, Iran or Isreal, one thing is this war is getting affecting more countries because this current war is very bad for business. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait cannot sell their oil to Europe, America , Canada and many customers, Europe cannot recieve oil needed for transportation and other activities. The longer the strait of Hormuz remains blocked, the higher the price of oil per gallon. Now it is over $200 per barrell, and might go higher. Right now , many countries are waiting for things to calm down , let the tension fizzle out and diplomacy take over.
Europe and other Arabs countries may force to take military action against Iran if Iran keeps attacking Saudi Oil field , blocking Strait of Hormuz and attacking oil ship.
Nigeria has an opportunities to show the world oil if we have more functioning refineries.
Foreign AffairsRe: World’s Fourth-largest Refinery Shut Down In UAE After Drone Attack by Ibrahim1985: 11:10pm On Mar 10
Still do not understand why people on nairaland are rejoicing this war. Do you like trekking Why Iran is attacking the Arabs countries is still a concern? If the Arabs attack Iran back, that when we are singing Pray for Iran, Iran Life matters.
Foreign AffairsThis American ,isreal And Iran Matter Is Serious by Ibrahim1985(op): 6:29pm On Mar 10
Oil price is up and some people dey celebrate which country has killed more people or which country has long range missile or nuclear war. If the war continues, oil price can even get higher, today is above 1000 naira , maybe next week it will above 1500 naira, everyone dey feel am globally. If not for Dangote Refinery, the price wiill probaby be above 2000 naira
Iran and Isreal has been enemies since day 1 so war was meant to happen. It just a matter of time which country was going to atrack first . But Why Iran is attacking their Arab neighbors is still a question? Why is Iran attacking UAE and Saudi Arabia is a very big question? These proxy war will end soon or later, no one knows. Anyway they no born Iran well to send missile to Russia or China or USA.

Brownlumi:
I do not agree with that saying; we being a produ t of our environment. Yes, our environment can be a factor but truth is what the environment does is to present you with a choice. My dad was a complete alcoholic. When I mean alcoholic, I mean a confirmation confirmento one. The area I was born and gree up in back then in oke-ona, ifako, agege had beer parlours in them, in short, the face2face we were living in had a shop that was actually a beer parlour (I can still remember what the owner looks like) but you know what, I'm 32 years old and I've Never for once tasted alcohol. In short, the smell irks me and this is not even a Jesus's factor. So, if na environment mesef for don dey drink up and down and messing myself up for the whole street and neighbours to see. It's all about choices bro. So, even if your parents are "wayward" you still have a choice to decide which way you want to go. That choice could be passive or active. You can choose for yourself or allow others/life choose for you. One love bro!
Happy for you, alcoholism is very bad. I totally agree.

You are not here to change your parents or make them better people. You are simply to focus on being better than those whom you meet. You just have to accept them as they are. 🥱🥱
You made a very good point but at the same time, some kids are negative affected. What if they were neglient parents or was just a very bad influence e.g dad was not around due to gambling so kids flaunt schools or did not attend school because school fees was not paid. I know a person particularly whose parents were on drugs and lack of parental guidance almost made him a hooligan. After all , there is saying we are products of our environment

FamilyRe: Has Your Childhood Best Friend Ever Abandoned You When He/she Became Successful? by Ibrahim1985: 2:13am On Feb 22
Oracleee:
Peter comes to mind.

Early 2000s. We were kids close childhood friends. Our mums worked at the same place. We spent alternating weekends in each other’s houses. Him and his brothers would stay with us, we’d stay with them. We attended the same primary school. It was that kind of bond family-level closeness.
Then his mum got the opportunity to relocate to greater London. This was even before the whole japa wave became a thing. While she was sorting herself out, they stayed with us. Eventually she came back for her husband and kids, and off to London they went.
We lost contact for about a year.
One day, my mum said, “You people want to speak with the Babatopes?” We were excited me and my siblings. Childhood friends reconnecting after relocation? Sweet moment, right?
Wrong.
Peter and his siblings denied knowing us.
Flat out.
Asking “Who is this?” When I tried explaining, he acted like he had no idea who I was. My mum was shocked. I was a boy almost entering my teenage years, and my supposed best friend more like a brother that I already used to brag to my friends around erased me like I never existed.

That day stayed with me.
Fast forward about 15 years later. He wanted to come to Nigeria for something and needed help with security and accommodation. He reached out through my mum.
At that time, I was in the UK on course at Sandhurst.
I took my pound of flesh.
I feigned complete ignorance. Said I wasn’t even in the country. His mum called, acting surprised that I didn’t “know” them. The irony was loud.
Eventually I returned to Nigeria after my program. He was still around and tried reaching out to meet up. But that childhood hurt stuck with me. I cut ties completely.
Maybe people change. Maybe kids do silly things. But one thing I know is this if he had met me in a place where I wasn’t doing well, I doubt he would’ve wanted to reconnect.
Some people remember you only when you’re useful or successful.
I don’t hate him. I just believe in energy matching energy.
Bad move , not a good one at all. 15 years is too long to match energy.
RomanceWhy Are Many 30 & 40 Something Year-Olds Unmarried These Days? by Ibrahim1985(op): 3:01pm On Feb 21
Some say it is the economy that is preventing them to even settle down. Somebody wey never get his place cannot think of getting marry in the first place except he has a family compound. Some cannot marry Igbo or Hausa or Yoruba woman due to personal perference. Some say i cannot marry a Christian or Muslim. Some say he is AS and I am AS so i cannot marry him or her because I do not want to have SS as children. Some say too many girl are into hookup. Some say men only want sex or women only want money. Some are used to be single and do not see marriage as a big deal anymore. Some do not want to be 2nd wife, 3rd wife or wife number 7 to Alhaji. Some have seen their parents divorce and vowed to never get marriage ever. Some have seen their dad or mum have an affair and vowed to just become babymama or babydaddy.

Whatever the case is, marriage is not for everyone. Live your life, those want to marry must be willing to be open and give love a chance.

PoliticsMany Countries Has Tamed Corruption, Nigeria Has Not Yet by Ibrahim1985(op): 1:35pm On Feb 05
Nigeria corruption is so wild that needs to be tamed at all cost. It is impossible to stop corruption but it is possible to tame. Every countries has corruption in one way or shape or form. Many countries has learnt to deal with corruption China is dealing with corruption today by executing corrupt officals caught with stolen money in the millions of dollar. In some countries , the higher and much money a politican steal, the longer the Prison sentence. No matter who has been in power in Nigeria, it does not matter if it is Military regime or Pdp or Apc or which political party, a politican is always living beyond their salary. It is so common that it is even expected.
EFCC is trying but they are weak in chasing big fish and only go after small fishes by chasing small boys with laptop or yahoo boys. Some even says Efcc is corrupt self. Corruption is already destroying many lives, and it is only going to get worse until Nigerians get serious about corruption. It is so bad that There appear to be a competiton with Nigeria politicans in getting private jets today. Any politican with a private jet is offically a big man in politics
Let Nigeria learn from other countries and tame corruptions
PoliticsThe Lavish Bold Lifestyle Of Nigeria Top Politicans by Ibrahim1985(op):
Who has a private jet in Nigeria is officially a top politican in Nigeria. Gone are the days who drive a gwagon or Ferrari, Mayback, Ferrari Bentley are for small politicans. The cost of fueling jet is worth in the millions , talkless of maintenance of jet. Whether Adam Oshiomole denies the video with his woman and say it is AI. One thing i know , if you are a politican and you do not have a private jet registered in your name at MM airport, you are still small boy in the politics
The more luxury your jet , the more higher rank you are. Private jet enough to Rival that of Cristiano Ronaldo'jet Gulfstream .

PoliticsDisappointed At Fellow Africans Who Ridicule Nigeria Shortcomings. by Ibrahim1985(op): 2:41am On Feb 03
The online twitter war Nigeria vs Rwanda is disappointing at the most. Nigeria is not perfect and even if a fellow Nigerian asked an ignorant question , it should not lead to a bashing of Nigeria as a whole. Every country has gone through a dark phase that can last a few years to a century. No condition is permanent , no country is perfect. A friendly reminder that Nigeria had always step up as big brother in Africa and helped many African countries at their lowest point. When they needed help, Nigeria did not make jest of such countries or made crude jokes of such countries at their lowest. Nigerian allowed many nationals to stay and do businesses and still do till today.

Some went back to their Africa countries and rebuild. To fellow Africans , a successful Africa country is a success to Africa as whole.
Politics4 Major Things That FG Need To Tackle If Nigeria Is To Go Forward. by Ibrahim1985(op): 1:08am On Feb 03
1. Fixing insecurity by paying local policemen and soldiers a decent salary. If the average olopa is well paid and given every tool to help combat lawlessness. Things go improve because bribing a policeman will be an insult to them. Paying the Judges, law enforcer well so that they will be feel insulted if someone try to bribe them.
2. Building more prisons for lawbreakers, sometimes Nigerians react only to force because of stubborness. Pay the judge well, pay the prison warden well and see how the law become enforced.
3. Fixing the electric grid that collapse too frequent instead of building paved road or embarking on another coastal road project.Let the FG focus on this first before embarking on building coastal road. A nuclear power plant might be alternate in providing electricity.
4. Let Efcc be independent and go after politicans looting money
