Hello friends.. I just got back from church Not quite long.. And my day one friend right from secondary school to uni.. Just called me that he's in a big mess at the moment..

According to him, his second girlfriend is 2months pregnant and the girl didn't tell him till last week and his about preparing for his wedding with another girl which is his first girlfriend.. They have dated for 6years now.. And they are actually planning for their wedding which is to kick up by july.. Now the side girlfrnd he's dating is 2months pregnant and just told him last week..

My guy is confused.. He has asked me and I don't even know what to say.. Please I need your candid Idea or advice.. He's really counting on me on this

The Edo State Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Benin on Friday upturned the election of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Yakubu Gowon, as the lawmaker representing Etsako West II Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly.

Gowon had been declared the winner of the April 11 state assembly poll and returned elected to represent the constituency, where Governor Adams Oshiomhole hails from, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

But in the judgement, Justice E. Abuua held that the APC candidate was not duly nominated by his party.

The tribunal explained that the APC’s notice of intention to hold party primaries, which he sent to INEC, was less than the mandatory 21 days.

It said the notice was given on November 13, 2014, while the primaries was conducted on December 1, 2014.

The tribunal, therefore, held that all the votes cast for the APC candidate were wasted and that the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Sylvanus Eriagha, who was the first runner up with 4,001 votes was the rightful person to be declared winner of the poll.

Reacting to the judgement, the State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, described the decision of the tribunal as a ‎”sweet victory” for the party which, he said, would keep “hope alive for the people.”

But the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Godwin Erhahon, said all‎ the candidates of the party were duly nominated.

He, however, added that the party’s legal team would look into the judgement.

Erhahon said, “We will leave the turnout for our legal team‎s. For now we do not have the details.

“All our candidates were duly nominated. So whatever somebody at that level may have adduced ‎is left for our lawyers to look into.

“I cannot comment authoritatively because I do not have the details.”

The Ebonyi House of Assembly on Thursday indicted 12 of the 13 Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen for financial misappropriation.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the immediate past assembly had set up a committee to probe the financial dealings of the chairmen between November 2014 and June 2015 when they all resigned their appointments.

The indictment was contained in the committee’s report submitted to the state assembly and read by its Chairman, Chief Obasi Odefa, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the assembly.

According to the report, the ex-chairmen chairmen embezzled the state’s funds during the period under review.

It noted that some of their expenditures had phony titles such as immunisation costs, breastfeeding expenses, security expenses and solidarity rally for former President Goodluck Jonathan, among others.

“The caretaker chairmen, treasurers, cashiers and Heads of Department of works connived to illegally withdraw money from the councils’ accounts and siphoned them into private accounts.

“The caretaker chairmen withdrew funds from the councils’ stabilization accounts in connivance with the Chairman and Secretary of the Joint Accounts Committee.

“This is in contravention of Section.12 of the Ebonyi Revenue Distribution to Local Government and Development Centres Law 2006,” the report said.

The Speaker of the House, Mr Francis Nwifuru, read the resolutions of the assembly after it had adopted the committee’s report.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the assembly resolved that the former Caretaker Chairman of Izzi LGA, Mr Godwin Nwogbaga, should refund N95m.

Nwogbaga, alongside the Head of Department, Works Department and Treasurer of the council, were also asked to jointly refund N217m.

Similarly, the Chairman of Ohaukwu LGA, Mrs Chinyere Elom, was asked to refund N53m while the council’s HOD for Works should refund seven million.

Nwifuru also announced that the former caretaker Chairman Ezza North LGA, Mr Jeff Ogbu, should refund N97 million while the treasurer of the council would refund N6m and in addition, be dismissed from service.

“The Chairman of Onicha LGA should refund N158m and return the 60KVA generator which she allegedly carted away while the council’s HOD for works should refund N61m.

“The Chairman of Ezza South LGA, Mr Edwin Oke, is to refund N115m being fund he could not explain how it was utilised while the council’s HOD works should be dismissed,” Nwifuru said.

The speaker further announced that the committee did not indict the former Chairman of IVO LGA, Mr Joseph Obasi, of any financial misappropriation but recommended that he be relieved of his duty for not being able to guide his officials accordingly.

“The House clerk should present a memo to the governor, urging him to relieve all those indicted in the report immediately from their duties and prosecute them,” he said.

NAN reports that resolutions concerning other former council caretaker chairmen were also read.

The report also indicted the immediate past commissioner for Local Government and the permanent secretary in the ministry, among other council officials.

Nigeria international Vincent Enyeama has disclosed he never got any letter from the Nigeria Football Federation inviting him to any disciplinary hearing in Abuja.

The 32-year-old who did not show on Tuesday to explain his remark against the NFF’s choice of Ahmadu Stadium, Kaduna for Eagles Afcon qualifier against Chad played on June 13,2015 said he was not notified officially by the NFF insisting he only heard it in the media.

“I was told to apologise for my comments, which I did immediately and they told me that’s fine,” Enyeama told BBC Sport.

“Personally, as it was resolved in-house I thought that was the end of the matter. I only received a letter to cautioning me about it [my comments] and to avoid a repeat of such.

“But I only found out about a disciplinary hearing in the media but I didn’t get any letter to that effect,” he explained.

“As the captain I only raised our concerns about the venue before our game which didn’t go down well with the football authority.

Enyeama could face a lengthy ban for his comments which the NFF feels was against the code of conduct signed by the players as well as his failure to attend Tuesday’s hearing.

The Jigawa Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency said it arrested 92 suspects for allegedly using and dealing in illegal drugs in the state between January and June 2015.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Commandant of the NDLEA, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdul, in Dutse on Friday.

Abdul said the command had seized 151.704 kilogrammes of illicit substance from the suspects within the period under review.

He explained that the major seizure by the agency was that of 22.350kg of cannabis property of one Muhammad Aminu, arrested in Gumel on June 1.

“The major seizure within this time is that of 22.350kgs of cannabis belonging to Muhammad Jazuli and Sani Aminu all arrested in Gumel on the 1st of June 2015,” he said.

He said that 60 drug addicts were counseled and rehabilitated by the agency within the same period.

The commandant said the agency would carry out extensive awareness campaign in the state on the dangers associated with drug abuse.

Abdul explained that the gesture was due to the increase in the number of youths that abuse commonly prescribed drugs like Cough syrups, Tramol and Valium.

He said the major challenge militating against the operation of the agency was lack of adequate vehicles to cover all the nooks and crannies of the state.

Abdul appealed to the state government and the general public to assist the agency.
