Since the time slots for 2026 dates show, your calendar seems okay. Probably someone already picked the date when you clicked the 2025 dates, hence the no time slots.

However, to completely book an appointment, you need to click on a date, choose a time slot and then book. To be on the safe side, you may want to try this out with a 2026 date if you have enough reschedule options to see if your calendar is fully functional.

Hello Ify. Yes you can use your date. You just have to fill in a new ds 160 to match your lagos appointment, then update your barcode on your avits portal because filling in a new ds would generate a new barcode for you. Its simple.

You need to join a date search group. Dates have been released sometime since February

Mine resolved on its own 24 to 48 hours after payment

Where are you posting the request? Are you using the create emergency request option or you are posting it as a ticket?

I saw a date in Abuja october '25, when i was switching locations every second to find dates, but it went quickly in like two seconds. Unfortunately checking that often will get your acct limited, as it happened to me. not sure what the best approach is to get dates but there are dates

The barcode on both my DS 160 and confirmation letter are the same thing. They are both carrying the same number.

oh thanks i was using a tab. let me try on a laptop.. please do also know how i can update the new ds120 confirmation code on my avits to be able to print out a new appointment letter letter that matches?

Raise a ticket with Avits and attach the new DS-160 confirmation page. They will change it for you within 2 business days.

If your refusal wasn't within the last year (12 months from your current appointment) according to the instruction on the portal, I think you should be good. Then if not Chikzy, I think you should just speak to your school at this point, if deferrement would be an option.

If you are using a laptop for the upload, change file type option to all files. Otherwise, you can’t upload pdf files

Hi, allow me to share my experience maybe it will help you prepare ahead.

My last UV visa expired Mar 2024. In Sept 2024 I put in an application for renewal which was due to be via IW. The earliest date I was able to see at that time was May 30 2025. On that day I dropped off my passport at OIS. Three weeks later I received an email (221g) informing me I was no longer eligible for IW and told to log into AVITS and book an appointment for a physical interview.

The explanation given to me by OIS was that since Dec 2024, to be eligible for IW the previous visa expiry should not be more than 12 months, prior to renewal. March 2024 (when my previous visa expired) to May 2025 (when I submitted my passed) exceeds this so therefore a physical interview is now required.

This explanation makes sense to me; but whether it will apply to everyone or not I don't know. Hopefully it gives you a bit on insight. All the best in your application.

@Lekan has given the best possible outcome. In support, you cannot change from IW to physical appearance by yourself without an invitation from the embassy.

If you feel like going to see how the new interior of the U.S embassy buildings now looks like then you will pay another visa fee and opt for in-person appointment. 🖐

Your eligibility means you’re allowed to apply for interview waiver till July 24. As far as you have applied and you have printed out your drop off appointment letter which shows August 10, you have nothing to worry about. Just carry your passport to iOS on August 10.

You also have the option of opting for an in person interview but it means you will wait for 1 year plus to get a date like everybody else

Hello everyone. My interview waiver eligibility will expire by July 24. But I got a drop off date for August 10. Is it possible to change to in person appointment without losing the date? Since it is after my eligibility expires
