3. Write a one-page letter of explanation yourself. Something like: "I am submitting my application within the 60-day ITA deadline. My Nigerian Police Certificate is delayed due to network issues at the issuing authority. Attached is my payment receipt and a letter from the police headquarters confirming the delay. I will submit the certificate as soon as it is issued." Keep it factual, no need to over-explain.

4. Upload the letter of explanation, the receipt, and the police delay letter into the country, specific police certificate field on your document checklist, not just any random slot.

One honest warning: this is not a guarantee. An officer still has to look at what you submitted and decide if it counts as genuine effort. If they're not convinced, they can still return the file as incomplete. But this is the correct, IRCC-recognized way to protect your ITA while you wait, don't leave that field blank and hope for the best.

On documents generally, since your wife is the principal applicant, her documents carry the most weight. Roughly:

Both of you need international passports (bio-data page, must be valid) and the marriage certificate.

Police certificates are needed for anywhere either of you lived 6+ months since age 18, use the letter of explanation approach above wherever one is delayed.

From your side: proof of PCC request plus the delay letter, and an ECA report only if it's actually worth it (see below).

From her side as the principal applicant: her nursing license/provincial registration, employment reference letters in IRCC's required format, recent pay stubs, and her T4 or Notice of Assessment. Proof of funds too, unless she's already working in Canada under a valid work permit.

Everyone needs digital photos meeting current IRCC specs (50mm x 70mm), and your step-kids need their birth certificates and passports.

Your IRCC portal will generate your own personalized checklist once you're in that's the final word on what's needed, treat it as the master list.

One thing worth flagging before you spend money: there's a common belief that a spouse's SSCE is worth 10 CRS points. It isn't.

Under the current table, for an accompanying spouse: secondary school completion is 2 points, a one-year post-secondary credential is 6, two-year is 7, a bachelor's or 3-year program is 8, two or more credentials (one being 3+ years) is 9, and master's or PhD level is 10.

So if SSCE is your highest qualification, I'd suggest you don't bother paying for an Educational Credential Assessment, it usually costs $100+ for a 2-point gain, which isn't worth it.

Only get an ECA done if you have something higher than SSCE (OND, HND, bachelor's, etc.) that hasn't already been claimed.

In terms of priority right now:

1. Protect the 60-day deadline above everything else.
2. Get your receipt/proof that the PCC was applied for.
3. Get that delay letter from Anambra Police HQ.
4. Write and upload your letter of explanation with the supporting documents.
5. Finish the rest of the checklist, marriage cert, passports, her employment letters, so the file is otherwise complete and ready.

I wouldn't rush to travel to other states for the PCC yet.

First find out exactly how many days you have left on the 60-day window, and whether the Anambra office is willing to issue that delay letter. Only consider traveling if you're down to a handful of days and the local office is refusing to cooperate.

Two things that would help me narrow this down further: how many days exactly are left on your ITA deadline, and is your PCC delay the only thing standing between you and joining your wife in Canada.

If she has been nominated to apply for Alberta PNP, it makes a lot of sense to follow through that route because life becomes easier (in so many ways) if you arrive Canada as a Landed Immigrant (with your PR). When applying for PR, she will not need POF but she has to show proof of ongoing employment and her work permit. The List of Documents required will depend mainly on what she filled in her Expression of Interest for the PR, which also includes her nomination certificate from Alberta. Documents that will be needed from you are the documents which prove you are the spouse. Your Int'l passport and birth certs will also be require as IDs docs. That is just it. Please also do more research on your own, What I wrote above is just my opinion based on what I have read on IRCC website. I am not a PR yet but doing my Masters and also applying for my family via SOWP. Hence, Everyone's case is unique and different. Note that University Canada West is in Vancouver, BC. After Toronto, Vancouver is the second most expensive city in Canada. There is also tough Provincial Immigration Pathways in BC. University of Niagara Falls is a Private University. It will limit your chances of getting PR via OINP. Hence, I will suggest you look into Trent University which is in Peter-borough, also in Ontario but a smaller city, less expensive and a Public University. My suggestion is from the point of view of PR. However, from the point of view of Employ-ability, Vancouver is No. 1 out of the 3 cities where you can find Tech Jobs.

It is only enough to meet income requirement,you will still need to provide all necessary documents for PR on province nominee class checklist IMM 0199 Form.

You don't need to meet minimum funds requirements with the above,In PNP or federal immigration program.

I looked it up for you and confirmed on Reddit, The general rule is that proof of settlement funds is waived for applicants currently authorised to work in Canada and hold a valid job offer.

When in the final stage of filling the express entry pops up and it asks her to upload proof of funds. A Letter of Explanation attached to a few pay stubs should generally suffice.

I think more knowledgeable people would still provide answers if I'm wrong.

Her current application does not mention she's married. She'll have to first of all update her profile that she re-married before you can be added in the PR application.

She intend to renew her AAIP Nomination certificate soon.so she intend to update her status in the profile and inform IRCC of our marriage during PR application.I believe that's ok.pls reply.

Having 65 points when the minimum requirement is 60 does not automatically mean you should receive an invitation. The 60 points simply make you eligible to enter the SINP pool.

Looking at the screenshot you shared, the more important detail is that your entire score comes from Labour Market Success (65 points), while you have 0 points under Saskatchewan Connection and Adaptability.

That means you currently do not appear to have factors such as:

* Saskatchewan work experience
* Saskatchewan study history
* Close family in Saskatchewan
* Other Saskatchewan adaptability factors

In many immigration programs, candidates with stronger provincial ties can have an advantage over candidates who only qualify through human-capital factors.

Another thing to consider is that SINP invitations are not always based on total points alone. Saskatchewan may conduct targeted draws based on occupation demand, labour shortages, licensing requirements, or other selection criteria. So it is possible for someone with 65 points to remain in the pool while another candidate with a lower score receives an invitation because their occupation or profile better matches the draw criteria.

Since you've been in the pool for 7 months, I think the key questions are:

1. What is your NOC code or occupation?
2. Which SINP stream did you apply under?
3. Is your occupation regulated in Saskatchewan?
4. Do you have any Saskatchewan job offer, work experience, study history, or family connection?

Without that information, nobody can accurately determine why you have not been invited yet.

From the screenshot alone, the biggest clue is not the 65 points. It is the fact that you have 0/30 points under Saskatchewan Connection and Adaptability. Combined with the possibility of occupation-specific selection, that may explain why you are still waiting despite meeting the minimum threshold.

If you didn't claim point for the job, you don't need reference letter for it. Do not remove it. List it again in your personal history and move on.

You must file all your work history in the last 10 years even if you're not claiming point for them (this will look like you are updating work history activity twice).

IMO, seems like in-land spousal PR sponsorship after you land in his warm bosom may be the path to go as he is in Canada already.

Perhaps you or husband can call IRCC for best “choice” in your unique situation. Or send webform.
Kindly note that IRCC has recently been trying to check all the spousal accompanying/unaccompanying loophole. Some people’s applications getting rejected sef.
If na me, I for collect visa land first. Then start inland spousal sponsorship immediately. Hopefully within 6months to 1 year baba sef go get PR. He won’t even notice the time fly as he’ll have your companionship 😃😍

A consultants plays a sort of advisory role based on his/her experience. For instance I paid a popular immigration consultant (kubeir kamar) about USD100 for a 20 minute consultation in 2022 to find out the best option for my then fiancee. Her score was 481 then and the man said no chance that her score was too low. But in March 2023 the scores dropped to 481 (General draw) and she got an ITA. She became a PR 8 months later. Your wife will list them as her dependent children in her work permit and PR application.
Their father is deceased — so your wife has sole custody (she should have a death certificate of her late husband).
IRCC will not ask for consent from a deceased parent once the death certificate is provided.

Step 2: Your Relationship as Stepfather

When she applies for PR and includes you:
You will be listed as her spouse (husband),
The children will be listed as her dependents,

Remember your inclusion as the husband.

When she applies for PR:

She will be the principal applicant.

You and your three children will be listed as dependents.

1. Proof of Funds (PoF) for Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) – Non-Express Entry

For most employer-driven AAIP streams (like the Alberta Opportunity Stream or Rural Renewal Stream), proof of funds is not required if:

The applicant is already working in Alberta, and
Has a valid job offer or is currently employed by an Alberta employer.

So once your wife enters Canada on a valid work permit and starts her job with Alberta Health Services, she won’t need to show separate proof of funds when applying for PR under that stream.

BUT

2. If She Applies Before Entering Canada

If she submits her PR application before arriving and before starting work, IRCC may request proof that she can support herself and any dependents.
But once she’s employed in Alberta, her job income serves as her financial support evidence.

You can apply as soon as possible — it’s always good to be in the Express Entry pool. Just make sure that whatever information you provide to IRCC matches what you used for your student visa

As of now, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is not holding draws because of a reduction in its nomination allocation by the federal government. You will have to explore other options available. (Learn French or check the other skills if you have work experience to match)

A minor nephew doesn’t qualify for SINP points. The supporting relative must be an adult (18+), PR or citizen, and living in Saskatchewan. If his parents are PR/citizens there, you can use them instead.
