SHOOPSYN:
I saw a Tiktok video of a guy that was fined at 3:50am on that MBA road, same thing he said, will he be moving slow at midnight. But I still believe the fines is extortion because no road sign whatsoever, atimes you forget speed limit when you are in hurry. Imagine, Omoapena was fined at 65km/phr. Moreso, 80km/hr on 3MB is not fair for such highway.
Na because our country lack system and working judiciary, when speed limit sign is not visible for road users, it’s illegal to ticket the users.. in a sane cline, the agency in charge will be petitioned or sued ..

Europe , South Africa, and some North African countries, even some part of Ghana, speed limit signage is always at the beginning of the road, middle and almost at the end of such road. in some areas, speed limit number is painted into the road as a reminder, while in some you will find speed limit reader informing you when you are about to go beyond the required limit
Lagos of all places should have this, but then for their pocket and selfish reason, they rather prioritise making money over safety warning.

I don’t think flood can damage a EVs, except the car completely submerge, and stayed for a long time, it will affect the safety protective units.

Abeg follow put mouth o. Are EVs used as Taxi in the UK?
Abi fuel is cheaper than Electricity??
Most Cab uses EV and hybrid vehicles here, the situation might not be comparable to what we have in Nigeria

Uber and all those ehailing app have a serious competition with local cab services, as each local government ( council area) have their ehailing platform, so drivers prefer to register with them and drive under their platform.

Car finance is also easy over here, you can walk into the dealership and pick a 2025 car for ehailing on pcp, pay the monthly fee and return the car, if you don’t pass the agreed mileage, and if you want to buy the car off, you can finance it off.

Better road and access to car manufacturers maintenance and repairs.

I bought a 2010 Toyota avensis manual, in Feb 2024, 4th owner, mileage 89,000, due to the nature of my work , I drive almost every day and the only repair I have done since then was change the bulb and one new tyre, for my MOT Test.

The Nigeria market in my opinion might not be ready for such type of car for the business, but when the opportunity cost is analysed using the operating cost and earning cost in the ehailing market, the EV car will have a positive figure in the long run, all things been equal, but the disadvantage at this current time, is the fact that if you need to buy any part for the car, you will be buying it in $ and you are earning in naira.

Anyone that says you should sit at the front in order to feel the AC obviously knows that his AC is not working well. A good working AC should circulate no matter how hot the weather is.

I prefer the rider sits at the back if I'm using AC because I dislike that hand touching that occurs when I want to take my right hand off the steering and relax it somewhere else.

The standard abroad is sitting at the back and I don't like the fact that some riders see sitting at the front as an attempt to identify with the driver as though drivers are less privileged people. While in reality, I do wind my window down for a while just to receive fresh air when the smell in the car changes with the rider in.
Weather can affect the performance of AC, inside Car or inside the house…

Uber drivers, Una good morning.

Do you prefer your customer (when alone) sitting at the back or the front?

I've had two occasions where one driver was like, Assuming I was sitting in front the AC would be touching me, I knew he was sending a message.

And also when I tried to sit in front with another driver, He was looking at me suspiciously as if I was a suspect. Lol

So, what's the standard or which do you prefer? Thanks
From your explanation.. you have your answer already I guess.. the answer is subjective and based on individual preferences.. but then the key decision lies with you .. sit where you feel more comfortable and safe..

My brothers, the addiction to sports betting has destroyed me beyond imagination. I am completely lost as it has ruined my relationship with family and friends. I am reaching out for you guys to please come to my rescue and help me. I genuinely and desperately need your help as I have no one to run to. I cannot even string my words together. I am also deeply battling suicidal thoughts.

I have chosen to come out just so I can get help. I have only 5hours of time at a cyber cafe to my name. Please help me, please

The worse kind of disease that can ever befall a man is a disease of the mind.
Step 1: identifying the problem

Step 2: tackling it
- first reach out to the bet company and ask them to close your betting account.
- you must have a friend who u confide in and doesn’t play the bet, you should always open up to him or her when the urge comes
- get busy, very busy
- disable every payment method u use to load into the bet account
- don’t ask for money from people to settle any debt you incurred, work to pay it, if people bail you out, there is high chances you will relapse and get comfortable and return back to your old ways.
- pray about it as well.

I understand Nigeria is a mess when it comes to law and enforcing it due to selective application.. but then all what is listed is normal thing every road users must observe.. it’s easy to get a Nigerian drivers license hence the reason for unlawful driving.. I knew what I passed through before I was able to pass my practical driving test. Most of those things listed can cause one his UK drivers license if you flaunt it. As long as they won’t be selective application, I think it’s the right way to go

Good Morning House, Pls I need your Opinion on this.

Will Bolt and Uber Accept this 1997 - 2001 Honda CRV.

I want to get a Car but I have a very low budget.
I have held on for a while if I could get more money somehow.
But I just keep spending what I have.

I see a very clean 2001 CRV that fits my budget.

Please I need your advice. The vehicle is good condition.

I just need to know if one can somehow use it on Bolt and Uber.

Thanks.
This was the car I used for the hustle back then, very strong, ensure it’s very clean, most riders wey no sabi car self think say na one big jeep like that, parts are relatively cheap (I used it before Tpain era), very smooth

Advice if you will be settling for it
1. Don’t buy new ball joint , go for the Tokunbo ones that have not been remade, always have extra
2. Don’t joke with the transmission oil at all, always check it
3. Limit going to very bad roads, protect your ball joint
4. Car has a very strong engine and transmission as long as you use the right oil
5. Ball joint, ball joint, ball joint.. always have extra and change it whether good or bad, every 6 month, if the one you remove is good, keep it and u can put back at the next change interval.
6. The market for its part is in oyingbo, I don forget the exact market name

We bought the car 950 in 2013 and sold it for 1.1m in 2023.

Thanks to everyone for they advice, The IB guy with v6 , I think I will just go ahead. I know I cannot become Elumelu or Dangote driving Uber… But if it can guarantee 20-25k savings daily with 7-8hrs work shift, it’s ok for me and I can have money to keep up and also keep up with what I’ve been doing. It’s crazy this days that ordinary 5k fit make eyes red…

Only way is forward, I guess… And at my age, it’s okay to fail, learn and grow. I also need the outside energy so I will just do my thing. Thanks everyone and I hope to meet and make good friends around here as I journey towards the goal…
When you are about to start.. kindly mention me.. I owe you half tank of fuel .. I wish you all the best in your endeavours.. try and join Cheerfulgiver WhatsApp group.. I am sure that will help you navigate the hustle as well.

Obviously the honorable behavior, I don't even understand how people gets comfortable to invite someone into their compound when they can go out and receive their package, that honorable will be regretting his actions rn coz people are coming out to condemn him.

Imagine even saying he will make the guy dissappear from Nigeria, who knows how many people he has made to dissappear, VDM will soon call him out.
Their is nothing honourable about that idiot politician, in a sane environment, he will be facing the time and he will pay a lot of charges and recalled, but in our country Nigeria anything goes… he will settle it the way we all know he would..

Cho Cho Cho, leave the job ! It doesn’t pay ! It waste of time!, but if them give you CV to employ one of them, and pay that money that you think will make them comfortable, Job you no get to offer, connection you no get to offer.

If them message you now make you borrow them money to take care of their family after taking your pointless advice to leave the job and wait for a better venture : money you no get to offer.

How can a sensible person just sit behind phone conjuring senseless and meaningless grammar, offering unsolicited jargons up and down, in the name of find a new job or the work is enslaving, I wish they can create a thread of those people u see wearing shirt and trousers up and down, let them tell you their tale, you will know , you don’t just judge people, situation or circumstances that you are not part of.

You are telling people to stop something that is taking care of their immediate need without suggesting or posting that thing, you think is better than what they have.

If you are doing better, why not tell us what job or business you are doing, and tell us how u can offer us same job, or give us the link to that same business you are doing, if you are not doing this , then carry your jargons cook and eat it alone.

See, either offline or online, if anything goes south, you're a suspect to whatever it is, online won't save you from the mess cox bolt will never show up to save you from whatever mess you find yourself...

Online isn't guaranteed for safety, the prayer is not to jam problem...

This makes me remember my friend that was arrested in igando some years back, he carried some guys, they were 4 in numbers, in the afternoon and police stopped him to search his car, while he stopped for searching, those guys just ran away, they were able to catch 2 of them and they found gun on them, my friend was arrested despite showing them its an online trip, to cut the story short, my friend involved lawyer and they took him to ikeja, he spent about 3 weeks in police custody before they later let him go with a payment of 450k.

So, whether it's an online or offline, it doesn't guarantee any safety, both for driver and rider, if you want to argue it, what's the difference between indrive trip and offline trip.

The only thing online trip can do is to be able to track your last ride, but whatever that will happen to you, either the driver or the rider would have happened.
I understand your POV and my response is not to say it’s irrelevant.

.but if that ride was offline.. he might end up in jail with them and won’t be able pay that amount that was illegally collected from him.. he paid the price for a very corrupt policing system, if it was offline, it might be difficult to prove his innocence.

It's not a case of doing the right thing
Nobody like to convert a trip to offline but the situation has forced our hands

Imagine someone here (can't remember the moniker) did a trip from a whole addo to airport 18500(that a whole lot of money) takes like 2hrs, his running cost (fuel and commission) is already like14-15k but his profit on that trip is not up to 4k.

These days I don't buy full tank cos to make that money back with profit may seem difficult

Like pearl rightly said: We are just collecting big big money but our profit no increase.
My brother I understand.. probably from my experience.. I rather just cherry pick, cos the trauma is always their in my case..

It’s just sad that it’s getting worse day by day.. the story of ehailing is quiet different here.. I have the opportunity of speaking to two or three of them.. same positive story, they make like 3k pounds monthly after paying commission, (average : 9-5 work) still have Health discount from Uber, discounted cards for Amazon and other.

Oga u re very wrong on this one.
When did doing the right thing become wrong.. coupled with high rate of insecurity in the nation.. so many things can go wrong on an offline trip, and it might not even be of your own doing….

I picked up a lady from a guy house one day like that, not knowing the idiot boyfriend already used abortion pill for the lady, the lady was bleeding in my car and fainted at the back, when I got to the destination, (I am not the chatty type of driver) so I didn’t know what was going on at the back till I got to destination), Me: I will be ending the trip now ? No response.

To cut the story short, I had to drive the girls brother back to the guy House,( they pounced on me with emotion at first, my app saved me ) he was arrested, proceed to police station for reports, before I was allowed to leave.. imagine it the other way round.
