Igbenidion University is the second most expensive school in Nigeria yet there is no water supply, security, and infrastructure.

Just this morning robbers attacked the hostel for nursing students and robbed every room. There was little or no resistance from the universities security personnel who could never match the fire power of armed robbers that wielded AK47's stealing laptops, cell phones and other valuables from helpless students.

Here's the catch:

This last Friday, the same set of robbers attacked a certain block in the Boys hostel and robbed every room. Some final year students (its mostly the engineering students that occupy that block) who were supposed to do their project defense this week lost many months of hardwork saved on their laptops.

These robbers aren't afraid to shoot and as a student, I can only hope no one gets killed.

Igbinedion University is a school full of prospects. Its built on over 1,000 hectares of land which makes it difficult to fence the school all round.

Another issue is that of leadership and management. Nothing that requires finance from the school's account can be done without approval from Chief Igbinedion (Esama of Benin Kingdom.) This is why lecturers are still being owed their July salary after it was discovered that they allowed students who owed fees to write their 2nd semester examinations.
