The fee has been reduced very very significantly from 0.5% to 0.005% (almost zero percent!) in order not to throw away the baby with the bath water and help FG deliver on the purpose meant for the fund.

0.005% on N100k (one hundred thousand naira) for example is a paltry N5 (five naira) and N50 charge on N1 million naira so it makes absolute sense, low and fair enough in my opinion. Most transactions of the poor range between N1k and N100k so the highest a poor person will pay as cybercrime fee is N5 and lowest is 5 kobo!

There's so much at risk so there must be deliberate effort to sustain the security architecture around this crime.

Germany has shut down one of the country’s largest and oldest mosques and ordered a ban on the nationwide Shia Muslim organisation that runs it for religious extremism.

Dozens of police raided Hamburg’s Blue Mosque on Wednesday morning, as well as 53 other properties across Germany, in one of the most significant crackdowns on political Islamism in the country in years.


The interior ministry said it was formally banning the Islamic Centre of Hamburg and its affiliated organisations for preaching “totalitarian rule, aggressive antisemitism and support for the terror group Hizbollah”.

Three other mosques, in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich, have also been raided and closed.

“The [ICH] propagates an Islamist, totalitarian ideology in Germany,” said interior minister Nancy Faeser. “This Islamist ideology is directed against human dignity, against women’s rights, against an independent judiciary and against our democratic state.

“It is very important to me to make a clear distinction: we are not acting against a religion. We clearly differentiate between Islamists, against whom we take tough action, and the many Muslims who belong to our country and live their faith.”

St Andrews University's rector has been removed from her role on the university court in a row over comments she made on the Israel-Gaza war.
Stella Maris sent an email to all students referring to "genocidal attacks" by the Israeli government, shortly after she was elected in October.
An investigation found she had "breached her responsibilities" to students, but Ms Maris said it set a "dangerous precedent for freedom of speech".
She will no longer sit as president the university court - its highest governing body - but will remain in a pastoral care role for students.
