After Rick Ross performance on Friday 17th August at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Nigerian music stars also performed and didn’t disappoint, Flavour thrilled all with his singles “Nwa Baby”, “Adama” and his part in the track “Bottom Belle”, Trybe Records’ Eva got everyone excited with her track “High” while University of Lagos Philosophy Graduate Vector Tha Viper performed some of his famous tracks including “Angeli” and “We Made O”.

Other artistes who also gave stellar performances include Terry G, Dammy Krane, Flowssick and South Africa’s Liquideep. Apart from the performances, Annie Macaulay-Idibia also got everyone talking, the Nollywood star who was rumored to be pregnant proved she wasn’t after all, she showed up at the Summer Jam Fest show in figure hugging jeans and a black top. Her Mr, 2 Face Idibia was the center of attraction as he walked into the venue, hounded by screaming fans, 2 Baba was escorted into the venue by security guards.

Also in attendance at the show were some of the biggest names in the Nigerian entertainment industry including D’Prince, Lynxxx, Yvonne Vixen Ekwere, Sound Sultan, Karen Igho, Zaina, Iyanya, KCee, Toolz, DJ Caise, Dr Sid, Efe Tommy, Susan Peters, Elohor Aisien and Dayo Ephraim, who came to support and witness Rick Ross Live. The event was organised by St.Eve Magazine and Trace Urban.

Nigerian Films nominated for the 2012 GIAMA include ‘Unge’s War, I’ll take my Chances, Two Brides and A Baby.

According to the GIAMA Awards committee, surfing through the enormous amount of movies that were submitted, most especially those that were produced in the Diaspora was quite challenging to watch. However, there were a few movies that stood out and are worthy of being applauded and rewarded. Some of these movies include Bianca, Secret Past, The Mechanic (Who is the Man), Paparazzi, Black Money, and a few others. This is a clear indication that movies produced in the Diaspora, especially in the United States, continue to improve over time.

Being the inaugural award ceremony for GIAMA, only films that were produced and/or released between January 2011 and June 2012 were considered eligible for review and nomination. The winners will be announced at a sparkling, star-studded ceremony on October 20, 2012, in Houston, TX and will be hosted by Nollywood Untamed Actor Jim Iyke.

Another good movie to look out for! Heroes and Zeros premieres on Friday 31st August 2012 at the Silverbird Galleria.

“Heroes and Zeros” directed by Niji Akanni an award winning Nigerian film writer/director known for some of his famous works including Dangerous Twins, Playing Games and Narrow Path. The movie stars some of the biggest names in the African film industry including Nadia Buari, Olu Jacobs, Norbert Young, Tina Mba, Gabriel Afolayan, Akin Lewis and Bimbo Manuel.

The Official Movie Synopsis
The movie Heroes and Zeros tell the story of the destructive pursuance of Tonia (Nadia Buari) by Amos Fele (Bimbo Manuel). Amos was a wealthy director in the Nigerian film industry, now he lives in a dilapidated flat, doing occasional low paying TV commercials for nameless products. He’s a daily comic relief on the local soccer practice pitch – because he is 45 years old – and he nurses a new, insane dream of making it into the dollar-soaked world of international soccer. His unhappy marriage to Tinuke (Tina Mba), a junior banker, is unfortunately crumbling, especially after the death of their only child.

A boost to his sagging spirit comes when a big budget French-Nigerian film company appoints him as director. Shortly after, he is a celebrated genius by the press and top actors and producers begin to call him up for projects. To his wife’s distress, Amos re-establishes his wane reputation as a womanizer and becomes obsessed with Tonia, a beautiful actress of the Nigerian-French film project. Ignoring repeated warnings by his best friend Nnamdi (Norbert Young), a psychology professor, Amos pursues his obsession with Tonia to his tragic end.
