President Buhari has arrived in Egypt ahead of the ASWAN Forum on Peace and Sustainable Development in Africa.

The Forum which is expected to hold between Wednesday, December 11 and Thursday , December 12.

It's Aim is to address the interconnections between peace and development in Africa while promoting Africa-led Solutions

The Idea is being lunched by the President of Egypt Abdel Farrah El-Sisi in his own capacity as the chairman of the African Union (AU) and also as an advocate of post - conflict reconstruction and development in Africa.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to arrive back to Nigeria on Friday.

An Iyaganku Senior Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Thursday, remanded a 32-year-old Ibrahim Isiaka in Agodi Correctional Centre, for allegedly strangulating his father to death.

The Senior Magistrate, Mrs. T. B. Ogunkanmi, who did not take the plea of the defendant, ordered that he should be remanded in custody pending receipt of legal advice from the state Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Ibrahim of Alagbagba area, Ashi, Ibadan was in court on a one-count charge of murder.

The Prosecutor, Insp Sunday Ojeleye, told the court that Ibrahim on Nov. 8, at about 10.00 am, allegedly caused the death of his 72-year-old father, Busari Isiaka, by strangling him to death.

Ojeleye said: ”The defendant was alleged to have pushed his father to the floor in the process. The incident was said to have occurred at Alagbagba area, Ashi Bodija, Ibadan.”

He said the offence contravened Section 316 and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol.II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Ogunkanmi, thereafter, adjourned the matter till Feb. 13, 2020, for mention.

A mother of six and one of her children have been delared missing in Kano.

According to Facebook user, Maryam Shetty, both were last seen on Monday, December 2, at Sabon Gari Market.

An unnamed tea vendor has stabbed one of his customers to death following a disagreement over N100 bread.

The incident happened at 10pm on Monday November 25, at Juba Alaro Junction off Liasu road in Idimu, a Lagos suburb.

The deceased, Peter Nwala had gone to the tea vendor’s kiosk to buy fried egg, tea and bread when he complained about the bread’s bad taste.

He was said to have explained to the Hausa tea vendor that he would not pay for the stale bread.

His refusal to pay for the bread, according to sources angered the vendor who reported him to a nearby suya seller, who stabbed him with a dagger.

‘’He paid for other food items except the bread. It was when he wanted to leave the place that the tea vendor signalled the nearby suya seller, who brought out a dagger and stabbed Peter to death.’’

The incident was reported to Ikotun Police Division.

Sources said police have launched a manhunt for the culprit.

‘’The police have contacted the leader of the Hausa community in the community and he has promised to produce the culprits.’’

An impeccable police source however said the deceased was stabbed by the vendor in retaliation.

‘’The boy (deceased) was an alleged internet fraudster who had been arrested in the past by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). He went to the tea vendor’s kiosk to buy fried egg and was said to have refused to pay the man.

‘’ He took a stick and hit the tea vendor who insisted he must pay for the food. When the tea vendor could no longer bear the brutality, he motioned to his colleague who took a knife and stabbed the boy(Nwala) in the back leading to his death a few hours later at a hospital.

‘’Friends of the deceased then launched into violent attacks on Hausa traders in the neighbourhood but we quickly deployed our men there and restored normalcy. However, we are still looking for those who killed the boy and the police is engaging the leadership of the Hausa community in the area to ensure that peace reign and apprehend the culprits,’’ he added.

Segun is one of the lawyers called to bar on Tuesday, November 26.

Reactions have continued to trail the shocking bleaching video that recently went viral few days ago.

Kiki, daughter of the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is saddened over the erroneous perception that light skin is better than a dark skin which has pushed many women into the extreme length of bleaching.

Taking to Instagram, the beauty entrepreneur revealed that she has gotten messages from women asking if her company "have things to make them white"

Kiki also said babies are not spared the bleaching madness.

The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; Obi of Onitsha, Alfred Achebe and other notable traditional rulers and professionals are among the expected guests at the Nigerian Reggae Festival (NRF), slated to hold in Awka, the Anambra state capital, between December 28, 29 and 30, 2019.

The State Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artworks, Culture and Tourism, Barr. Mrs Sally Mbanefo, who disclosed this to newsmen in Awka, on Thursday, said the Reggae music festival organised by the ministry in collaboration with Music Africa Awake Foundation, was aimed at promoting peace, unity and culture in diversity.

“Nigerian Reggae festival is an event fashioned to bring peace and unity to the people of Nigeria and eradicate xenophobic attacks in African countries. Reggae promotes peace, builds bridges of love and unity among Nigerians and Africans. This is a homecoming music festival which is in line with governor Willie Obiano’s vision to promote peace at grassroots and bring home our indigenous Reggae music icons in Diaspora,” Mbanefo added.

Contributing, the Founder of African Music Awake Foundation, Prince Emeka Ojukwu, maintained that Reggae has influenced a lot of people, markets, media houses and events, as well as established itself as a brand and platform to enlighten the community.

“This will serve as a platform for cultural exchange between the Caribbean, Jamaica, Nigerians and Africans in Diaspora. Foreign reggae artists will be present. Nigeria Reggae artists and African Reggae artists will have the opportunity to collaborate with them.

Some of the artists to perform at the event are Pacino, B’Clean, Crucial Bankie, Heph B, Jennifer Lou, Ledo, Black Mojah, DJ Silentkilla, Karamel Singer, Big Bob, Ras Udara Most High, Lioness Front, Ras Julian, Black Omolo, Anaetoh Peter, Ital Sounds, Pupayanns,” he noted.

Other speakers, Chief Vincent Omoko, the President of African Music Awake foundation, told Nigerian Tribune that Reggae music was the best platform to reunite Africans, enlighten youths against ethno religious crisis, attacks, robbery, and other vices, while the traditional ruler of Aroh, Idemili North LGA, assured that monarchs were ready to use the platform to reach people at the grassroots.
