Good afternoon. I went for my B1/B2 visa interview this morning in Abuja. My anxiety started when the lady checking passports asked for my expired passport, and I didn't have it. I didn't use it at all, so I didn't think bringing it was necessary. She said that there was no way to ascertain whether or not what I said was true, but they let me in. About 20 or more people were in line in front of me, and as far as I could tell, more than 90% had been denied before i came in. As I watched, person after person was denied, including older people. I remained calm and kept asking the Lord for mercy and favour. One naval officer was the only person to be approved, that i could tell of, from the window where my interview held. VO: Good morning. Passport please. Me: Good morning. I handed her my passport. She was polite but hardly smiled. VO: Where are you traveling to? Me: I told her. VO: Are you married? Me: Yes. VO: How many children do you have? Me: One. VO: What do you do? Me: I'm a writer, self-employed. VO: What is the purpose of the trip? Me: My sister is getting married, and she invited us. VO: Have you been out of the country before? Me: No. VO: Are you going with your family or going alone? Me: I'm not going with them, but I'm going with my mum. She's frail and needs help. All the while, she was typing, but she paused when I said this. Then, she asked: VO: Does your mum already have her visa? Me: Yes. She nodded and continued typing. VO: How long are you going to stay? Me: Two to three weeks. VO: What does your husband do? Me: I told her. She nodded again and kept typing. VO: What is your mum's name? Me: I told her, and she typed and checked her system. Then she asked me to spell my mum's surname, and I did. I could faintly see my mum's picture on her large screen. She had two, and one was slightly facing outward. She nodded and typed for a few seconds before saying: VO: I've approved your visa. We will let you know how to collect your passport. This paper... I don't remember the rest of what she said. But she cracked a quick smile at me at this point, and I left. God is merciful and kind. |
It's for a wedding, actually, and I'm going with my mum, but she already has her visa. I don't have the funds in my account. Apart from the bank statement, is there any other thing I need? Efetobore1980: |
Good evening. Please, what do I need to take with me to the embassy for my visa interview? It is a sponsored trip, so the person I'm visiting will pay for the trip. Apart from my appointment confirmation letter, passport, and a regular passport, what else do I need to present? Do I need my bank statements? @efetobore1980 could you help me with a list? Thank you. |
There are October 2025 dates. I know it's 3-month single-entry visas, but you can still take advantage of the available dates. |
VisaZest:Thank you very much. |
I scheduled an interview appointment for November 17 when I first paid. I downloaded and printed my appointment letter. But after some time, I saw an October date and took it. However, my appointment confirmation letter carries the November date. Do I need to print a new appointment letter to bear the new appointment date and time or does the old one work? Will it matter what date the letter carries since my account on AVITS carries the October date? |
Hi everyone. Please, did anyone who paid their B1/B2 visa fees within April 2025 get an interview date in Abuja for June or July? Is November the earliest date for Abuja at this time or can a person get a much earlier date? |
