Let me start by giving you the full meaning of IJMB as "Interim Joint and Matriculation Board Examination". JAMB is " Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination".
JAMB is for 100Level admission while IJMB is for 200Level admission. IJMB is 8-9 Months in 2 Semesters, after which Direct Entry(DE) form will be obtained. Each candidate will choose the university and course they want to study in the Direct Entry form. The fantastic aspect of it is that, IJMB students will join their colleagues in 200Level which means they are indirectly in 100Level during the period of the programme .

IJMB vs REMEDIAL/PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME

Admission to REMEDIAL programme is not automatic. You still have to wait for REMEDIAL list like waiting for regular admission while admission to IJMB programme is automatic.

REMEDIAL can only be used in the institution where you did the REMEDIAL.
IJMB results can be used in any institution of your chioce in Nigeria and abroad

REMEDIAL is used for admission into 100Level.
iJMB is used for admission into 200Level

REMEDIAL results are just valid for the current year after which it becomes useless in case admission is not secured in the current year.
IJMB results is permanent, no expiry date.

REMEDIAL cost implications is either the same or more than that of IJMB

REMEDIAL student must still write and pass JAMB before they can gain admission into the university.
IJMB student don't need to write JAMB anymore, they will just apply and wait for admission.
