I know some people will crucify me for no reason, while some will want to know my church but allow me to break it down for you all. Here we go: 1. Christmas is nowhere mentioned in the bible- There's no record of such an event neither in the old testament nor new testament. Some will say it is a day set aside to celebrate His birth...by who? The bible is and forever will be our reference book. 2. Jesus wasn't born on or near December 25- Remember those shepherds who were living out in the field watching over their flock by night(Luke 2: . That is impossible because December period in Bethlehem, Europe, etc is cold, wet and snowy. No one person will be able to stay outside. Again, why will a census be conducted by the highly efficient Roman administrators during such conditions?3.Christmas holiday is largely a recycled pagan celebration- Check it up in any encyclopedia that December 25 came to the Romans from Persia. This day is celebrated as the birthday of Mithra. Rome was famous for its flirtations with strange gods and cults, and a certain emperor Aurelian established the festival of Dies Invicti Solis, the day of the Invicti Sun- December 25. Why join the multitude to do wrong? Narrow is the path... 4. God condemns using pagan customs to worship Him- God gives specific instruction about using pagan practices to worship Him- the exact thing Christmas does. Deuteronomy 12:30-32... Do not inquire after their gods saying, How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise. You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way. Whatever I command you be careful to observe it, you shall not add to it nor take away from it . True believers must worship God in Spirit and in truth(John 4:24)- not revel in recycled pagan customs and symbolism. 5. The bible instructs Christians to commemorate His death rather than His birth- According to Apostle Paul and I quote: 'For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you:that the Lord Jesus on the same nigh in which He was betrayed took bread and when He had given thanks He broke it and said, take, eat this is my body which is broken for you, do this in remembrance of me.'. In the same manner He took the cup which is the new covenant in His blood...This do, as often as you drink in remembrance of me - 1 Corinthians 11:23-28. The point is Jesus expect true followers to commemorate His death- not His birth. Hint- This is not 'Good Friday prior to Easter as many mistakenly believe- that's an issue for another time. Unless a man be born again, he can never enter the kingdom of God. If you have not been baptized by being immersed into the water, you have not yet started. This is not the case of repeating some lines after your Pastor, placing your hands on the radio blah blah... you are deceiving yourself. I encourage you to read the bible with understanding and not practicing Christianity according to your Pastor. Please, do NOT empty the ATMs. Kindly let go of that chicken, goat, etc for there's life after December 25. Happy Sunday! |
It's very sad |
