Nairaland / General / GES Dísgraced As Teacher Kwadwo Releases Evidence Against Them by IMAGD: 3:12pm On Dec 21, 2021
GES Dísgraced As Teacher Kwadwo Releases Evidence Against Them
The Ghana Education Service is in hassle after Teacher Kwadwo got here out to talk about his instantaneous offload from the schooling area.

Teacher Kwadwo in his modern video described as funny the grounds for his dismissal and warned of a long war between himself and the GES.

Teacher Kwadwo on Friday, December 17, 2021, criticized the Ghana Educational Service over what he considers to be negative making plans inside the implementation of the National Standard Test by means of primary four college students.

It appears to have long gone bad for the GES leaders and they are supposed to punish him over a few alleged misconduct he did within the past.

On one element GES is saying that they're aware that it is the Council that has the very last say in phrases of termination of the appointment of instructors...However, even though the Council that could finalize this termination is but to be re-constituted, instructor Kojo should leave the schoolroom until the sort of time the Council will be re-constituted and finalize his termination.

I know GES as an organization would have a resident lawyer advising them on problems, if not their mother Ministry the MoE is likewise nicely equipped with a criminal department.

However, the case perhaps the felony branch of the GES and the MoE has led the organization down in what seems to be a breach of no longer only natural justice however of direction a breach of administrative justice.

I do not see everywhere in the GES letter proof of the application of the rule of natural justice precisely the principle of Audi altered pattern.

Neither do I see evidence of strict adherence to the techniques of termination of the appointment of teachers in keeping with the GES’s personal rules.

What this calls for in essence is a judicial evaluation of the decision of GES so it does now not come to be a precedent, there is no wherein within the World a judicial decision can be allowed to take impact before it gets endorsement from the frame mandated to discharge that decision.

We might therefore encourage teacher Kojo to use the Human Rights Court thru certiorari to set apart GES’s choice, several remedies which include a prohibition can also apply in this regard.

Nairaland / General / Detained Female Soldier, Sofiat Will Be Punished For Having Amorous Affair by IMAGD: 7:45pm On Dec 20, 2021
Detained Female Soldier, Sofia Will Be Punished For Having Amorous Affair With Corps Member—Nigerian Army
The Nigerian Army on Sunday said Private Hannah Sofia A., a female soldier who accepted a marriage proposal from a male corps member at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Kwara State, will be punished for violating military rules and regulations.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, told The PUNCH that the female officer violated military laws by getting involved in a public display of amorous relationship with a paramilitary trainee – a corps member.
Reporters had identified the female soldier as Private Hannah Sofiat A. She was detained after video clips of her being proposed to by a male corps member at the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp in Yikpata, Kwara State, went viral on social media.

Reporters had reported that the female soldier was ordered to be detained by Captain M. M. Abdulahi, Kwara State NYSC Camp Commandant at a military detention facility in Ilorin pending further investigations.

A military source said she was detained for not “due for marriage, romancing on uniform publicly, absent on parade, indiscriminate behavior, doing other things aside from her purpose in NYSC camp, disobedience to the standing order of social media rule and disobedience to ethics and tradition of the Nigerian Army.”

In one of the trending video clips, some corps members were seen discussing a venue believed to be the parade ground of the orientation camp.

The discussion was still on when the yet-to-be-identified corps member, who is seen holding a ring, went down on one knee and popped the question to the soldier with the lady accepting the proposal.

The corps member then went on to put the ring on the finger of the visibly excited Sofiat amid cheers from others at the scene.

She could also be seen relishing the moment as she kissed the ring at intervals with smiles etched on her face. The lovebirds later shared a warm embrace.

In another clip, the corps member was seen wearing Sofiat’s military cap as she stood directly behind him.

However, the Army spokesman said the female soldier violated the Nigerian Army’s rules and regulations guiding the codes of conduct of military personnel when deployed for duty.

Nwachukwu said the female soldier’s action amounted to taking advantage of her trainee, noting that the public would have been outraged and accused the Army of coercion had a male soldier proposed to a female corps member during the NYSC parade.

He said, “The female soldier in question violated the following rules of the NA: fraternization while on official duty at the NYSC camp. That is, indulging in an amorous relationship with a trainee.

“Personnel must have served for three years before he/she can qualify for marriage.

“She disobeyed the Armed Forces of Nigeria's standing guidelines and directives for the use of Social Media. Indulging in romance while in uniform.

“Her conduct was prejudicial to good order and military discipline.

“All the above, if proven are in violation of extant laws with attendant disciplinary and penal implications.

“As personnel, her task was to train the Youth Corps members and not to indulge in an amorous relationship with any of them. These rules were put in place for the purpose of proper administration and discipline in the Army. If I may ask, what if the soldier was a male? How would the public have perceived his action? Definitely, it would have been perceived as taking advantage of a female Corper, a trainee, put in his care for training.”

The Army spokesman, however, declined comments on the likely punishment the female soldier might get but said “the Nigerian Military like all others, has its disciplinary codes, distinct from that of the general society. All personnel has voluntarily undertaken to be bound by this code.”

Meanwhile, human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore has called for Sofiat’s immediate release.

According to the activist in a Facebook post, there is no law that prevents anyone from accepting a marriage proposal in military uniform.

He posted, “#FreeSofiat HQ Nigerian Army is illegally holding Army Private Hannah Sofiat A, her offense was accepting a marriage proposal from her National Youth Corps Service (NYSC) lover at a Mammy Market in Ilorin. There is no law that prevents anyone from accepting a marriage proposal in military uniform but as it is typical of the pre-civilization Nigerian military she was clamped into detention at Sobi Military Cantonment in Ilorin, Kwara state.

“The Nigerian military must release Sofiat asap and apologize to her for illegal detention. #RevolutionNow.”

Nairaland / General / Killings: ACF Slams Buhari, Northern Governors For Lack Of Empathy by IMAGD: 7:22pm On Dec 20, 2021
Killings: ACF slams Buhari, northern governors for lack of empathy
“The president and the northern governors are unwittingly creating the impression that only their lives, those of their immediate family members and their office's matter."
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed concern over the alleged lack of empathy by Northern Governors to communities being attacked and killed by bandits and other criminals in the region.

In a statement issued by the ACF National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, on Monday in Kaduna, the Forum noted that the governors have not been showing enough sympathy to the victims.

It added that the attitude of the governors, including President Muhammadu Buhari, portrayed them as only concerned about their lives and that of members of their families.

“The President and the northern governors are unwittingly creating the impression that only their lives, those of their immediate family members and their offices' matter,” the ACF added.

According to the ACF, apart from Governor Umara Zulum of Borno, neither the president nor the governors have bothered to visit affected communities to show empathy and sympathy for the victims.

“The ACF would like to put on record its total disapproval, frustration, and anger against what appears to be an endless orgy of killings in Northern Nigeria.

“The latest incidence took place in Giwa Local Government of Kaduna State where 38 innocent citizens were hacked to death.

“Nothing stops the President and a State governor from visiting such places.

“We sadly note that he has never felt it necessary to do so. In fact, following his example, not one governor has done so except Governor Zulum of Borno.
“Just a few days ago also in Askira Uba in Borno,10 people were killed and uncountable numbers were taken away.

“The people affected by these savage attacks are thus left to think that their lives don't count,” it stated

ACF’s criticism comes about two weeks after a major Islamic group slammed the Buhari administration for the poor manner it is handling of the security challenges in the country, particularly in the northern party.

Hundreds of people are kidnapped daily while others are killed by bandits operating in some northern states, notably Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna, and Niger.

Mr. Buhari, his wife, and some ministers were in Istanbul attending the Turkey-Africa Partnership when about 38 people were killed in some villages in Kaduna State.
