Hello House! I've been following this thread over the past four months and I must confess that you all are doing a fantastic job with the help! I applied for the US visa (B1/B2) on the 4th of Nov and scheduled to be interviewed on Monday, the 5th of Dec. I'm going to the US for a fellowship program for social enterprise management...(no one needs the story)..lol.. Program starts in Jan. Its for two weeks, after which we will come back to our home organization and use the knowledge gained. Anyways, I have the following documents with me for the interview: - A letter from the fellowship organization. - A letter from my organization introducing me. - My Dad's bank statement (he is sponsoring the trip). Do I need to bring any form of ID from him? Other documents include the confirmation page, passport photograph (couldn't upload during registration), international passport What else should I plan to take along with me? And what advice does anyone have for me in general? PS: This is my first time out of the country. Thanks guys!!! |

Hello NL, I'm really happy with the help from everyone on this thread. I applied for the US visa yesterday and got an appointment date for the 5th of December. I am going to California for a fellowship program for professional development. However, its not a fully funded program. Only got a free tuition at the institute and I have to pay for travel and accommodation. I work with a coy here in Lagos and earn 70k monthly (which I included on the DS 160), however, I indicated, in my application that my dad will be sponsoring the trip. He just retired from a government agency. And using his bank statement, a letter and his ID to backup his sponsorship. This is my first time out of the country. I'm 23 years old. Now, to my question, what do you think I should be look out for in terms of questions for the interview and what I should be careful about when being interviewed? Although, I know the main documents to bring with me, what are the other documents, if any? Thanks guys! I will appreciate any response. |
Hello House, I applied online for a visiting visa to Canada and did my bio metric capturing on the 21st of April. I will be traveling to Montreal for a summit where I will be speaking. My flight leaves on the 19th of June. However, I have not received any mail from CIC requesting for my passport. Here comes my question, is there anything one can do to expedite the process? The organizers on the summit have tried all possible means to get VAC to fast-track the process. So, please, what advice do you have for me and the organizers, cos a lot of preparations have gone into this summit? Thanks. |
