*WHY 10% TITHING IS NOT COMPULSORY*
1. Tithe is based on agricultural produce and livestock - not money/salary. (Lev. 27:30,32. Deut. 14:12). Money existed back then but it was not required for tithing.
2. Since tithe was based on produced food from land and animals, other professions did not tithe - like carpenters, fishermen, tentmakers, tax collectors, etc. Jesus did not tithe.
3. Num. 18:21:says only Levites should collect tithes. They too will pay 10% of what they received to the priest. Are today's pastors from the Levites? If yes, which priest do they pay the 10% to?
4. In Malachi 3, God addressed the ancient nation of Israel (descendants of Jacob). This is because they were not keeping to the terms of the covenant which He had with them. God was not speaking to modern day Christians.
5. The Storehouse was a physical part of the temple where the tithes (provisions) were stored and not the accounts of modern pastors.
6. Abraham and Jacob tithed. It was one-off. God did not instruct them. They did it from their own volition. If practices of Abraham must be followed, how about circumcision? Gal. 5:2-6 states that it is not necessary to undergo physical circumcision.
7. Matthew 23:23 - Jesus insinuated that tithing was of a lesser importance. He spoke to Jewish religious leaders living under the Mosaic system which was about to end.
8. Heb. 7 reiterated that tithes are for the Levites. And when the priesthood is changed, the law covering it changes also. Jesus is now our High Priest. It was a change from the Levitical system to the priesthood of Jesus. 1 Peter 2:9 describes all believers as a royal priesthood. It means everyone of us should collect tithes.😂
9. The Apostles in Acts 15 did not mention tithing when they discussed the requirements from the Mosaic law that should be placed on the Gentiles - what they should observe.
10. The Real New Testament Standard: Grace-Based giving. 2 Cor. 9:7 says give what you decide in your heart. It should not be under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver.
11. CONCLUSION - Today's pastors are not Levi yet they bypass the rule on tithing. It means descendants of Judah, Simeon, Benjamin, etc can collect tithes too - something meant for the Levites.🤣 How ironic! Also, since we are now a royal priesthood, it means everyone of us can collect tithes also.👍 Will you go to hell if you don't give 10% tithes? Are you cursed if you don't give? The answer is No! Can a Christian give voluntarily? YES!

Well, my intention for stating this was not to encourage drug dealings. I had innocent Nigerians who live in South Africa in mind. Right now, many innocent ones are being killed over there...not to mention those who have been deprived of their livelihood. It is well.
