ksmiles: 4. Street Jamz

You must have realized that most developed countries are noise free, sometimes; you can feel a pin drop because making a noise is regarded as an offence. Come to Nigeria and experience something that will blow your mind, the jamz that comes from different shops can be exciting because it is one avenue where you can know the hottest tracks in the music industry without surfing the internet.

Lies!!!

In NYC, car stereo can blow you off. NOISE!

In Manhattan, car honk, surging sun heat and hold up will always remind you of Idumota.

Joenice: Congrats man. You're so lucky. If it's meant to be, then it's meant to be. Again, anyone going to the embassy with California State University, should not hesitate to take his or her transcripts please. May God bless you all!

Why CSU case is different? Who ever going for F1 interview needs his transcript and certificate as usual.

Many thanks for your response, the problem here is that I still need to balance this present school, by that way they wouldnt send my transcript if their money no complete, and na September i plan giving them their money..That is, I wont be getting the other sch i-20 until i clear their bills oveer here, which i also dont wanna spend extra semester in this school.. Is staying in the United between now and there legal I dont know if i am making sense.

If you stay in the US without doing nothing for more than the 60 days grace period, you will fall out of status.

Fall to Spring is 4 months, if not 5.

Zee....I opened with Bank of America. I think they are pretty good. Got my acct number, Debit Card, online banking and transactions within 15minutes. There customer service is awesome. If ur on assistantship and u will be expecting direct deposit, you gona need a checking account. But you can still have a checking acct but there are charges that accrues if you dont maintain a minimum balance of $1500 or your above 23yrs or have a direct deposits of $250 monthly.
I asked for a credit card but I was told am not qualified yet. I understand shaa.

If you guys want to start a credit history, start by applying for Citibank platinum or Capitalone (platinum or Quicksilver) after you've established some months of residence in your state. These two cards can be approved with ease. Don't apply for banks credit cards now, your application will be rejected and you will attract hard inquires, which will later reflect on your credit history. Too many hard inquires kill credit score.

After getting a credit card, register on creditkarma.com to start monitoring your credit score.

Wellsfargo is the easiest for immigrants. It's abundant in the south. Forget about Chase, it's one of the biggest in the US. Their requirements will chase you like their name says. They will ask for your SSN and some kind of documents new comers might find hard to get. And they will ask that you must maintain a minimum balance of $500 in your savings and checking account every month.

MsNas:
I'd advise you to get StraightTalk, SimpleMobile or MetroPCS. They're the cheapest oo. AT&T is also cheap. But sometimes they get crazy. You can subscribe for StraightTalk or SimpleMobile every month with as low as $30.

Stay away from SPRINT!!! Its not prepaid but postpaid. They will even allow you to call international, but when the bill comes at the end of the month, you will nearly pee your pants. If you're like me who keeps my phone inside the back pockets of my pants and allows the phone to butt-dial sometimes, you're in soup. cheesy Verizon and T-Mobile ain't no better. I wanted to downgrade my monthly payment with T-Mobile because I rarely use my data, wifi is in abundance everywhere, these yeye people no gree. Okay o, lemme downgrade into another thing, no luck. And their 4GLTE will be sucking my 4G allowance anyhow sef.

StraightTalk rides on AT&T network; but its cheaper than AT&T (an AT&T has one of the best coverage in America). SimpleMobile and MetroPCS rides on T-Mobile Network, but they're cheaper than T-Mobile. It even allows you to text international for free. T-Mobile no dey gree me text international.

For International calling cards, don't go near Rebtel. They're thieves. Use Boss Revolution. Its cheaper. Don't blame me, I'm a broke college girl cheesy

The guy in NY can get Black011 calling card for his international calls. It's cheap so far.

Idazbawz: at the bold: not all schools.... my school's dorm accommodates students even during summer holiday
I'm living a full residence life cheesy

It's true for most schools/dorms. When the school closes, dorms and cafeterias closed except for some expensive dorms, which allow year round tenancy and personal cooking. This expensive dorms mostly house the grad students (MS and PhD) or couples.

Sometimes, cheap dorms open for a price, which is different from what you paid at the beginning of the semester. They usually use break periods for the maintenance of the dorms such as fumigation, painting, renovation, replacement of broken bed etc. However, .

AmeCanafrica Congrats! This is long overdue. I remember all the slipping and falling.

As usual for visa success

For stumbling and getting up

Elebiju: Any large snake that "constricts" its prey, if applied loosely, could be called anaconda.Anaconda.ITK.

Just STFU.

So why did Wikipedia put that phrase "if applied loosely" when explaining the term Anaconda? Colloquial representation I guess.
