Crime / Re: How Much Did You Pay For Your Affidavit? (fantastically Corrupt) by IMVP: 10:22am On Nov 13, 2023

We want more people like the author.

People who would stand up to any form of bullying by these corrupt civil servants.

A similar episode almost happened at Ikeja High Court.

After paying the statutory N500 for an affidavit, the guy man issuing the receipt and stamp almost insisted that I add another N500 or more.

I shouted on him in annoyance, that made him recoil, and he quickly referred me to the lady stamping the affidavit without further ado.

They don’t even have the courtesy to ask politely, they always want to intimidate people.

On a second occasion I went to my nearest police station to make a police report.

The police lady asked for N5,000 and I politely asked if that was the cost because the officer that sent me said it’s free but I can offer them N1,000.

She raised her voice immediately she heard the N1k, attempting to railroad me to paying without hesitation.

Right there I put a call through to the AC’s office and put our conversation on speaker, once she heard who I was conversing with she quickly backtracked and tried to explain how the N5,000 will be appropriated.

I insisted I ain’t bothered with their internal issues and eventually gave her N2,000 collected my police report and zapped.

Me, I will not accept being bullied

Awon ole.
Ok
