interesting, can you share shots of what those mails look like? I think they're fakes because I don't think PTDF portal shows shortlisted on the interface if you get it

the question is how did they even get applicants emails and application numbers / profiles?

Yes, there was a particular year the list was released towards the end of September. Awardees were asked to report at Abuja for induction, those with admissions and passports were asked to submit them for UK visa and they were flown to the UK after the induction. The rest were asked to wait till January.

So PTDF takes care of visa process?

as far as i know we dont need to secure admission first, but its our responsibility to get admission. did u check the deadline of the uni?

I don't think certification of foreign degree by foreign ministry will be possible. The email just come in yesterday and the are closing the portal tomorrow. So how is that possible. Also from all indications the interview will start next week, so it will still be very difficult for those that are not in Abuja to certify there foreign degree. Hope that criteria is not seriously taken by ptdf

I noticed they mentioned they want translated copies certified. so maybe the foreign certificates that are in English dont need to be certified?

Hello guys! I'm by name Hamza Hussaini. I'm a UK PhD scholar of PTDF. I was lucky to be among the successful applicants of last year. I went through all your posts and want to contribute on some few issues as;
✓ I want to make it clear that PTDF scholarship is merit based, even though it is highly competitive. Don't allow anyone to deceive you that the scholarship is for people with connections. I got the scholarship without knowing even the councillor of my ward. Try your best and pray hard.
✓ I have seen some applicants worrying themselves on the issues of publications and membership certifications at the moment, that they are on the process of acquiring such documents but couldn't make it before the deadline for the application. Please don't worry yourselves so long you can get them before the time for interview. They will allow those shortlisted full access to their portal so that they can update their portal about two weeks to interview time. PTDF interview panel members always grade applicants base on what they presented during interview not what was uploaded during application.
✓ The issue of change of course after been successful is not always possible. I was a victim of this. Have changed my course and PTDF denied me proof of funding for that. I had to go back and reapply for admission in different school. I wasted more than four months on this issue.
✓ The most important documents for the interview include:
* Research proposal/statement of purpose
* Class of degree/masters
* O'level
* Membership certificate
* Publications (even though this was not considered during last year's interview).
The last but most important thing is prayers.
Finally, my advice for you people is to keep on updating your research proposal/SoP before interview and make it part of you. Wish you good luck.

thank you sm for your insight! regarding changing your course, did you change to a completely different field and thats why you had those issues? is it okay to change to a course/program thats different from the choices in my application (but in the same field)?

Application for students visa is through the Portugal embassy. I learnt they will be opening at the Embassy shortly as everything is now in place for that purpose.

hello, im trying to get the LGA identification letter. I was told that i wouldn't be able to get it before the deadline but i can get the state of origin letter, will that suffice if it has my LGA information? thanks

Once you get the scholarship you can change the course, getting the scholarship is the most important part
