I got home and freshen up.
I lay on my bed to have a
nap. it was a friday, that
means no lectures the
next day and the day after. I
had planned for the following
week. the following week was
our department week, which
means there won't be much
lectures for that week because
of the various activities that
would be taking place.

I didn't plan to go to school for
that week because I didn't
want Sandra to see me for the
whole of that week. it was part
of my plan.

Based on my personal
research, I had come to realize
that most ladies don't realize
how much they love having a
particular guy around them
until that guy takes a break
from hanging around with
them. As far as they keep
seeing the guy, they won't
realize this. so I planned to
take a break from hanging
around with Sandra to know if
she love having me around
her.


The new week came and I
stayed at home all through. I
switched off my phone to
avoid her call. I used the whole
of that week playing video
game and revising all what we
had learnt for that semester.


The following week came too
quick but I was ready for
lectures. I walked into the
school compound and heard
her screaming my name from
behind. I turned to see Sandra
hastening her step to catch up
with me.

"hi" I said when she finally got
to me.

"Jerry what happened? where
have you been? you didn't
even attend classes through
out last week. not even for
once. what really happened? I
tried your number for almost a
thousand times but it was
always switched off." she
poured out all the questions to
me and without waiting for
response, she continued.
"Did you travel? was there an
emergency? did you lose your
phone? what really happened?
she asked waiting curiously
for an answer.

"I just decided to stay at home
and play video game, since last
week was our department
week and we were not
supposed to have much
lectures." I answered.

Her mood suddenly changed
and I could see anger visibly
on her face.

"what" she exclaimed
"you were at home playing
video game all through the
week while I was here
worrying about you. And you
didn't bother to call" she
barked.

She glared at me and walked
out on me before I could say
anything.
I stood there surprised at the
drama Sandra just displayed.
she just proved to me that she
didn't just like having me
around but also cares about
me. I made up my mind that
very moment that I would step
up my game and do the right
thing.


All through lectures for that
day, I didn't pay attention. I
stole glances at Sandra from
time to time and noticed that
she was not paying attention
too.

After class that day, I waited
for her to be alone before
approaching her. I met her
sitting alone in one of the
empty classes and walked up
to her. I squatted beside her
and held her hands. We stared
silently at each other for a
while before I finally broke the
silence.

"Sandra I lied when I said I
was just playing video game all
through last week"

"what do you mean?" she
asked staring intensely at me.

"I only said that to cover up
what I actually wanted to say"

"Jerry I don't get you, you are
confusing me" she said with
her eyes still fixed on mine.

"Sandra there is something I
want to tell you for a very long
time but don't know how to
say it"

"please say it. you are getting
me nervous." she pleaded

I could see the look of
curiosity in her eyes.

"please promise me you won't
get mad at me if I say it"

"I won't get mad. please say it.
my heartbeat has increased
already"

I looked directly into her eyes
and see stared intensely back
at me waiting curiously for
what I have to say.
I closed my eyes and took a
deep breathe. I open my eyes
to see her still staring
intensely at me.

"I ......" I paused

"please say it" she said
tightening her grip on my
hand

I looked down, heaved a sigh
and fixed my gaze back on her
with boldness.

"I love you Sandra. I love you
very much. I want you to be
my girlfriend" I let it out.

she stared at me in shock. she
tried to speak but words could
not come out from her mouth.
After staring awkwardly at
each other for a while, she
drew closer to me and placed a
kiss on my lips. it was my turn
now to be shocked. I stared at
her open-mouthed. she
wrapped her hand around my
neck and stared into my eyes.

"I love you too Jerry, and I will
be your girlfriend"

My joy knew no bounds when
she said that to me. I wrapped
her in warm embrace and we
stayed that way for almost an
hour.


My long time crush had finally
become my woman.

I left the school to prepare
for the movie. I got home
and quickly freshen up. I
and Sandra had earlier
agreed to meet at a particular
park and from there, we would
head straight to the cinema. I
left home immediately I was
set and headed to the park in
order not to keep Sandra
waiting. I was relieved that I
got there before her. I sat
down on a seat and waited
patiently for her. After few
minutes of sitting, I raised my
head and behold the beauty
approaching me. my lips
parted ways in amazement.
Her beauty cannot be decribed
with words alone. she was
truly an epitome of beauty. I
tried my best not to show how
surprised I was by her beauty,
but couldn't do much because
I was still staring at her open-
mouthed as she approached
me. The smile on her face can
wipe off the anger in a man's
heart. she got to me and stood
opposite me.

"I hope I didn't keep you
waiting?" she asked.

"no no. not at all" I answered
briefly.

I lost control of myself. I was
just staring at her, wondering
why just one person would
accumulate such beauty. After
staring at her without saying
anything, she decided to
speak.

"shall we?" she asked.

"yes sure" I answered.

I stood up immediately and led
her out of the park. we took a
cab and headed straight to the
cinema.


We got to the cinema just
when the movie was about to
start. we sat down at the front
and I placed the bowl of
popcorn which I had bought
on the small table between us.
The movie started just
immediately we settled down.
we watched silently, chewing
from the bowl of popcorn
beside us.

Ten minutes into the movie, I
stole a glance at Sandra and
saw her smiling broadly while
her gaze were still fixed on the
big screen. The movie was
quite an interesting one, but
watching Sandra smile was
more interesting.

I felt her hand on mine and
that was when I realized I had
kept my hand in the bowl for
long without taking any
popcorn. she looked down
immediately when she felt my
hand In the bowl. I quickly
scooped some popcorn from
the bowl and removed my
hand.

"sorry" she apologized and
fixed her gaze back on the
movie.

The movie continued and we
watched silently. The smile on
her face was still visible. it was
when the movie was
approaching the end part that
her mood changed. it was a
tragic end. The smile on her
face disappeared when the
movie ended and was replaced
by sadness.

I requested that we had lunch
in a near by restuarant before
going home. Even as we ate in
the restuarant, I knew she still
felt sad. The male lead
character in the movie, which
I believed was her favourite
character, committed suicide
just because the lady he loved
did not return his love.

"why are you sad?" I asked
when I was not comfortable
with her mood.
"is it because Jay died" I said
referring to the male lead
character.

"why would he resolve to
committing suicide?" she
exclaimed letting out the anger
in her heart.
"he just succeeded in putting
Kate into unnecessary
torture." she said referring to
the female lead character.
"Jay should have waited. Kate
love him too and was about to
tell him that. why would he
have to commit suicide same
day that Kate wanted to
confess her love for him too"
she said it sad tone.

"I don't really support Jay's
action. I'm totally against the
act of committing suicide no
matter the situation. I refer to
such people as coward. only a
coward would think of suicide
as the only option. so i'm
totally against what Jay did.
but we shouldn't put all the
blame on him. Kate has a part
in it. if she had accepted Jay's
proposal, all these wouldn't
have happened. she was so
sure that she also love Jay but
decided to treat him like trash
by saying hurtful words to
him. That's the problem we
have with most ladies this
days. They won't realise how
much they value someone
until they lose him. There
might be quite number of guys
who would be asking for a date
from a particular lady. but the
lady might not want to give
any of them the chance just
because her relationship with
a particular guy didn't work.
she would shut out every
other guy, just because of one
guy who doesn't deserve her.
she would tag all guys as the
same. it is until she had lost
that guy that is so caring and
ready to do anything for her,
that she would realise how
important the guy is to her.
The was the case of Kate in the
movie and also the case of
many ladies out there." I
poured out my mind to Sandra
while she listened with keen
interest.

This time, I was speaking from
my heart and not from
memorized lines.

Sandra stared intensely at me
with so much emotion when I
finished my speech. Her gaze
was so intense that I started
feeling uncomfortable. I
decided to speak when she
wouldn't stop staring at me.

"it's getting late. I think we
should start going home."

she carried her handbag which
was on the table and we left
the restuarant. I walked her
home and stopped few
distances away for her house.

"I Will be heading to my house
now" I said

"okay" she responded smiling.
"thanks for the threat. I'm
very grateful."

"you are welcome. see you in
school on Monday." I said.

"okay. see you too" she
responded.

we turned and walked our
different ways. After walking
few step, I stopped and looked
back. she looked back just
immediately also and our gaze
locked. I waved at her and she
waved back. we turned and
continued walking our
different ways home. After
walking some steps, I turned
again and saw her already
looking back. we smiled at
each other and continued
walking our different ways. I
looked back again after a while
but was disappointed, because
she didn't look back this time.
I turned and walked straight
home.

I and Sandra left the school
to prepare for the movie.
on my way home, I met
my coursemates Gofwane,
ikbnice and pu7pl3 at the
school gate. They were
grinning from ear to ear when
they saw me, which showed
that something was on their
minds. but I just can't place it.

"Jerry, I saw you and Sandra
some minutes ago. are you
dating her?" Gofwane asked.

"how did you do it?" ikbnice
chipped in.

Gofwane, ikbnice and pu7pi3
were part of the guys in class
who had at one point in time
tried to woo Sandra, but their
effort didn't yield any result.
They had gotten similar
response from Sandra, which
was to focus more on boosting
their cgpa.

"I'm not dating her" I
answered their question.

"then why did I see you both
alone at the lab" pu7pl3 asked.

"we were just discussing" I
answered.

"we are saying the same thing"
ikbnice cut in
"I want to know how you did
it. I want to know why Sandra
of all people could sit with you
alone in an empty class for
close to 30 minutes."

"what did you give her to eat?
which native doctor did you go
to? your charm must be very
powerful for it to have effect
on Sandra. Do you still have
some portion left, because I
will like to use it on this new
girl I saw today in school."
Gofwane said.

I could only laugh at their silly
questions and comments.
I looked round to see grayjonz
approaching us from behind.
the look on his face was not
funny at all. he shook hands
with Gofwane, ikbnice and
pu7pl3 when he got to us, but
only shot me an angry glance.
the look on his face sent
shivers down my spine.

"so you are dating Sandra
now" he said to me.

so that was it. I thought. that
was why he was giving me
that look. he thought I was
dating Sandra. well I don't
blame him, since he had also
tried to date Sandra but wasn't
successful. infact, he had the
worst encounter with Sandra.
it was an embarrassing
moment for him.

mustack had lied to him that
he overheard Sandra telling
her friend, rebirthforgoody
that she had a huge crush on
grayjonz. grayjonz could not
control his joy when mustack
told him this. he was so
anxious to profess his love for
Sandra.

That same day in class, just
immediately Dr. jostico, our
cost accounting lecturer left
the class, grayjonz walked to
generalbush our class rep and
whisper some words into his
ear. generalbush walked to
stand it front of the class and
asked to have everyone
attention. everyone paid
attention to listen to the
information generalbush had
for the class.

"our coursemate grayjonz, has
an important announcement to
make. I will encourage you all
to give him a listening ear
while he passes his
information" generalbush said.

grayjonz stood up immediately
and walked to the front. he
faced the whole class and
cleared his throat.

"I actually want to make a
public declaration just like
generalbush said" he began.
"I know you all would have
noticed how some guys in this
department had been trying to
ask Sandra for a date without
yielding any result. I'm not
saying that they are not
capable of dating Sandra. all I
am saying is that, once your
heart is made for someone,
there is nothing anybody can
do to change that. I am not
saying that I am better than
anyone for coming out here to
declare my intention. I want to
make a public declaration
about my feelings for Sandra."
he paused and looked straight
into Sandra's eyes.
"Sandra I love you and I want
to date you" he said smiling.

there was total silence in the
class. grayjonz did not notice
the glare that Sandra shot at
him.
Sandra stood up and walked to
the front of the class. all eyes
in class followed her direction,
waiting curiously for her
reply. she walked to meet
grayjonz and stood opposite
him.

"grayjonz" she called softly.

"yes dear" grayjonz responded,
with smile still visible on his
face.

Sandra turned to face the class.

"grayjonz has publicly declared
his love for me" she began.
"and I must say that I am
thankful to know that he
thinks highly of me. I also
commend his courage for
coming out publicly to declare
his love for me. not everyone
would be able to do that for
someone they love. i have to
make something clear right
now."

she turned and stared into
grayjonz's eyes.

"I am sorry grayjonz. I feel
nothing for you. it's just a
one-sided attraction. I'm
publicly turning you down. go
look for someone that Will
love you just the way you love
her and get your mind off me.
I don't love you and will never
do. I'm sorry."

Sandra shot him one last
glance and walked out of the
class. the whole class roar with
laughter immediately Sandra
left.grayjonz stood still staring
at the door Sandra just walked
out from.
the noise and laughter in the
class was so loud that it
attracted students from other
classes. All generalbush effort
to call the class to order was
fruitless. grayjonz stared at
mustack with a questioning
look, probably asking him to
explain what just happened.
but all mustack could do, was
to wink and show grayjonz his
two index fingers, which could
be interpreted as an even
score. Meaning, grayjonz
might have done same to him
and he is only getting even
with grayjonz.
grayjonz tried his possible best
not to blink, to prevent the
tears which had already
formed in his eyes from
dropping.


A tap on my shoulder brought
me back to reality. that was
when I realise I was still
standing at the school entrance
with my coursemates.

"you have not answered my
question" ikbnice said.
"when did you and Sandra
become that close that you can
discuss with her alone in an
empty class."

I could only smile at his
question.
my coursemates might be very
good with words when it comes
to wooing ladies. but what they
don't understand was that
ladies are different with their
different personalities. what
worked for ladyA might not
work for ladyB.

Though, it is true that you can
work your way into a lady's
heart with the right use of
words. infact, some ladies
unconsciously yearned to hear
those sweet words from guys.
but this don't work for all
ladies. sweet words alone won't
work for ladies like Sandra.
ladies as pretty as Sandra have
heard those sweet words you
have to say a thousand times
already. saying it to them
would make little or no effect.

if you go to their Facebook or
IG page, you will be shock at
the number of sweet comments
you would see for just a picture
they uploaded. you would even
see comment like "did you fall
from heaven". so adding yours
to it, is just like adding a drop
of water to an ocean.

The only time such words will
have effect on them is, when is
was coming from someone they
already love. someone that they
already have a place for in
their heart. so the first thing
you should do before using,
those words on them, is to try
having a place in their heart.
and some of the ways to do
that, is to try doing or saying
things you believe no one has
done or said to them, changing
their moods when you are with
them. if you can make a lady
happy this moment, the next
moment she is angry with you,
after a while she is worried,
and later she is happy again.
then I must say that you are
gradually working your way
into her heart.

if you are the type that think
you are winning a lady's heart
and you still can't make her
happy or get her angry, she
always has this blank
expression on her face
whenever she is with you. even
if you go to the extent of
kissing her bestfriend in her
presence, she would still not get
angry. Then you still have a
long way to go.


I was brought back to reality by
a tap from Gofwane.

"your mind seems to be
elsewhere. what's wrong?" he
asked.

"nothing bro. I have to leave
now" I said

"okay no problem" Gofwane
said.

I shook hands with them and
left the school to prepare for
the movie.

A fter class the next day, I
waited to be such that
Sandra would have
gone to the restuarant
for lunch before I went to the
restuarant for lunch also. And
just as I expected, I saw her
already having lunch. I went
straight to the counter to order
for food. After receiving my
food, I walked straight to
Sandra's table and placed my
food on it. I sat next to her
and started consuming my
food without looking at her.
After eating for a while, I stole
a glance at her and noticed
that she was already boring a
hole on my body with her
eyes, probably waiting for me
to explain why I just sat next
to her without even saying
"hi".

I ignored her and continued
consuming my food. When I
was done eating, I looked up
from my table and smiled,
then I did what every
gentleman would have done
since.

"hi" I finally said.

She hissed and ignored my
greeting. After a while of
deafening silence, she finally
spoke.

"so you just noticed that you
are sitting beside someone"

I heaved a sigh of relief.

"Sandra I'm really sorry for
not greeting you earlier. I was
famished. I just had to eat
something before I collapse. I
left home today without
having breakfast" I apologized.

"oh, i see" she sighed.
"with the way you consumed
your food, one can tell that
you are really hungry. why
didn't you have breakfast
before leaving home?"

"I woke up very late and by
the time I got prepared, I was
already late for lecture so I
just left home without having
breakfast"

"so you are telling me now
that you can't go on a fast" she
joked.

"no I can't, I don't joke with
my food" I replied.

And that was how our
conversation started. we talked
about things we were
interested in. we also talked
about other things and I made
joke for time to time which
made her laughed out loud.
When we were done, we
walked out of the restuarant
together. we exchanged phone
numbers and parted ways to
our different homes.


The next day in class, I tried
as much as possible to avoid
Sandra for reasons best known
to me. I went home without
seeing her. I knew she would
have been expecting to see me
at the restuarant, but I just
had to disappoint her again.
I dialed her number that night
from home and she picked at
the first beep.

"what's up Jerry" she said into
the phone.

"I'm cool and you?"

"I'm cool too"

"that's good to hear" I said

"I didn't see you in class
today. what happened?" she
asked.

My face curved in a smile
when I heard that. so she was
expecting to see me. That
means I was heading
somewhere.

"nothing, I just had to leave
early to take care of some
things" I answered.

"okay, so what's up?' she
asked.

I cleared my throat.

"Sandra I really need your
help"

"what's it" she asked

"I have been trying to solve
the assignment that was given
to us today but I can't seem to
find the right formula to apply,
and you know we are to
submit it before 8am
tomorrow. so I was thinking if
I should come over to your
place for you to explain it to
me" I said making my voice
sound desperate.

she sighed before responding.

"okay you can come over"

"thank you very much. you
are the best" I rejoiced

i could hear her chuckled at
the other end.

"okay, i'm waiting" she replied

"i will be there in 30 minute" i
said

"okay then she responded.

i ended the call and lay down
on my bed. i didn't plan of
going to her place. i just
wanted her to believe i was
coming and be expecting me. i
did the assignment before
coming home, so i had no
problem with that. i switched
off my phone to prevent her
call. i slept with smile on my
face at the way my plan was
going.


The next day, i saw Sandra
sitting alone in one of the
empty classes. i walked up to
her and stood beside her. she
was too engrossed in her
phone to notice my presence.

"hi" i said smiling.

she looked up from her phone
and continued with what she
was doing.
I could see the look of
disappointment when she
looked at me.

"Sandra" i called

she raised her head to face me.

"why didn't you come
yesterday?" she asked

"i later solved the question
after applying different
methods" i answered

"and you didn't bother to call.
i even prepared something for
you to eat and waited all night,
yet you didn't show up" she
said in disappointed tone.

wow! she prepared something
for me to eat. i thought.
that means she wanted me to
feel comfortable when i visit
her. i was happy to hear that
but didn't allow it to show on
my face.

"i am sorry" i apologized
masking my joy with a
remourseful look.
"i should have called you but
my phone was down"

"i tried your number all night
but it was switched off" she
said

i went closer and sat beside
her.

"i am sorry" i apologized once
more.

"it's okay"

I brought out two movie
tickets and showed to her.

"I won these tickets to see a
movie at the cinema. I didn't
want to go but based on the
fact that wouldn't want the
tickets to go to waste, I have
decided to go see the movie.
Since I have two tickets with
me, I was thinking if we could
go see the movie together "

Actually, I didn't win the
tickets just like I said. I
actually bought the ticket for
the two of us to go see a
movie. I just had to present it
that way for her not to turn
down my request. I knew it
would be very difficult for her
to turn down my request.

After contemplating on it, she
finally agreed.

"okay, we can go see the movie
together"

"thanks for accepting." i said

We talked for some time
before leaving the school to
prepare for the movie.

I went online to search for
articles on how to make a
lady fall in love with you.
After surfing the internet
for 3hours, I finally got what I
was looking for. I wrote down
all I needed and memorized it.
I smiled to myself when I was
sure I was good to go.
My plan was to walk up to

I recited my memorized line to
myself and when I was sure I
was good to go, I stood up and
walked towards her. I stood
beside her table and stared
silently at her. she was too
engrossed in her meal to
notice my presence. while I
was still contemplating on
whether to distract her, she
looked up from her table and
our gaze locked.
A sudden fear gripped me and
my mind suddenly went blank.
I forgot all I had memorized.
she stared intensely at me,
waiting for me to state my
reasons for distracting her
from having her meal. I tried
to say "hi" but my voice only
sounded like a whisper even to
my own ears. I tried to speak,
but my voice failed me.
After staring at her without
having anything to say, i
finally stretched my notebook
which i was holding to her.
she collected the notebook still
staring at me. she flipped
through pages and turned back
to me.

"what should i do with this?"
she asked.

"erm... .. erm..." i stammered.
"i want you to explain
something to me. i still don't
understand the topic that was
treated today by Dr. Grey"

"which part don't you
understand?" she asked.

I pointed the part i wanted her
to explain on the notebook.
"okay, i will explain it to you
when i am done with my
meal"

I sat next to her and waited for
her to finish her food. when
she was done eating, she
explained the topic to me. i
tried to pay for her meal when
we were done, but she politely
declined.

I went home that day happy,
not because i achieved my
aim, but because i finally
talked to Sandra. Now that i
had finally talked to Sandra, i
could now plot my other plans,
which was to make her fall in
love with me. i also needed to
be careful not to allow her
friendzoned me, because i
knew that ladies like Sandra
could easily friendzone a guy
without having second
thought.

I used the whole of my
bedtime planning my next
move on how to make her fall
in love with me and not to
friendzone me. When i was
satisfied with the method i
came up with, i smiled to
myself. At the same time, i
needed to tread carefully in
order for my plan not to
backfire.


I walked into the school
restuarant the next day and
found Sandra already having
lunch. I walked up to her and
sat next to her.

"hi Sandra"

"hi" she responded.

"i really want to thank you for
helping me out yesterday. I'm
really greatful."

"it's nothing"

"i found it difficult to
comprehend what the lecturer
thought in class, but after you
explained it to me, it just look
as easy as ever" i said.

"sometimes we just need a
little helping hand from our
coursemate to help us
understand better what was
thaught in class. so it's
nothing" she responded.

I placed a hand on my
stomach.

"i'm really hungry. i need to
order for food now" i said.

"okay" she responded.

"thanks once more"

"you are welcome" she
responded


I stood up and went to the
counter to place my order.
After receiving my order, i
carried my food, walked pass
her and placed my food on a
different table. i sat down and
started consuming my lunch.
I knew she was expecting me
to place my food on her table
and sit beside her, but i just
had to disappoint her. From
my personal research, i had
come to realise that most
ladies fall easily for guys that
they can't easily predict thier
moves. so i had to make sure
that she does'nt predict my
every move.

I walked up to her when i was
done eating and informed her
that i was leaving. i left the
restuarant without waitng for
her response. I kept smiling at
my new found courage as i
walked back home.

M y name is Jerry. I am
an Accounting student
of one of the
reputable University
in the country. I happened to
have a huge crush on a lady in
my department. Her name is
Sandra. She is tall, light skin,

The next day, i and Fred

and smiled.

"this is the opportunity i have
been waiting for" he said
licking his lower lip.
"i can't allow this opportunity
pass me by"

"yeah, it your opportunity. Go
for it" i said faking a smile but
deep down, i was really
disappointed at myself for not
being able to muster up
courage to profess my love for
Sandra when i had the
opportunity. But all the same, i
had to let go.

Fred patted my back and
smiled.

"let me go and do what i know
how to do best"

"okay bro, i wil just wait for
you here" i responded.


Fred turned and walked
towards Sandra while i walked
to sit on a seat closer to them,
where i could easily eavesdrop
on their conversation.
Fred sat on the only available
seat opposite Sandra and
stared at her with his face
curved in a smile.

"hi" Fred greeted still smiling.

Sandra looked up from her table and
focused her attention back on
the food she was eating
without responding him.

"hey Sandra, i just said hi"

Sandra wiped off the particle of
food on her lip with the
serviette on the table and
turned to face Fred.

"as you can see, i am having
my meal and i am not suppose
to talk while eating" she
responded

"hey sandra, that is not a
polite way to respond to
someone who just dropped by
to say hi"

"okay, i am sorry. so what can
i do for you?"

"atleast you should reply my
greeting first before throwing
question at me"

Sandra sipped from the juice
on her table and focused her
attention back on Fred.

"okay, i am fine"

Fred's face curved in a smile
once more as she replied his
greeting.

"are you okay now?" Sandra
sked.

"yeah, i am okay now"

"so, how may i help you?"

Fred cleared his throat and sat
comfortably on his seat.

"actually Sandra, i know this
might not be the right time to
say this, but it is eating me up.
i can't help it anymore. i can't
think properly anymore. it is
clouding my thought. i feel
like my heart is going to
explode if i continue keeping
it to myself. that's why i have
decided to let it out". He
paused and looked at her to
know if he still had her
attention. When he confirmed
that he still had her atention,
he continued with his eyes
fixed on hers.

"i love you Sandra. i love you
very much and i want us to
start dating"

Sandra stared at him with
expressionless look on her
face. After staring at each
other for some minutes, Fred
decided to break the silence.

"Sandra,please say something.
Don't just stare at me" he
pleaded.

Sandra sighed and stare at him
eyeball to eyeball.

"what's your current cgpa?"
she asked

Fred was thrown off balance
by her question for a while
before he finally spoke.

"does that really matter? that's
not even the issue here.
Anyway, if you wish to know,
I Will tell you"

He paused and looked at her
face as if he was searching for
her reason for asking.

"I am currently on 2.73 cgpa"
he finally answered.

"Fred" she called
"yes Sandra"

"I think you should focus
more on boosting your gp,
instead of allowing the thought
of a lady to cloud your mind.
Go work on your gp and look
for a way of improving your
cgpa. When you have done that
and your cgpa stands on 4.5,
then you can come ask me for
a date "

She stood up, carried her
handbag which is on the table
and tried to leave the
restuarant. She stopped
halfway and turned back to
Fred.

"one more thing, don't even
bother of trying to work on
your cgpa just to prove
anything to me, because it will
just be a wasted effort. I don't
date guys in the same
department with me. So don't
just bother." And with that,
she walked out of the
restuarant.

Fred sat still staring at the
door she just walked out from.
I could not even go to meet
Fred because I was lost in my
own thought. With what she
just said to Fred, I had to
agree with what my
coursemate were saying about
her, that she is rude, proud
and a snub. I also thanked God
that I had not told her about
my feelings, because I
wouldn't have been able to
stand all she said to Fred.
I made up my mind that I
would erase all thought of her
from my mind. I and Fred left
the restuarant that day
without saying anything to
each other.


Days went by and my feelings
for Sandra became stronger as
against my decision to erase
her from my mind. I tried my
possible best to erase her from
my mind but the feeling kept
growing stronger, even to the
extend that I was no more
concentrating on my study.
Seeing how the whole thing
was affecting me, I made up
my mind that I would
approach her and tell her how
I felt about her. The worst she
can do is to insult me which
would help me forget about
her, but I must go prepared in
order to withstand the
outcome.
