Romance / Meet The Sex Robots Designed To Replace Girlfriends by infolife: 12:28pm On Aug 15, 2017
She never cries. She never nags. She never gets hungry or jealous. She doesn't need your commitment and she’ll never have to meet your parents, nor would you probably want her to. But most importantly, she never says no. She's always raring to go. The one hitch – or should we say glitch – is that she's not real. "She", the woman of your wildest dreams, is in fact an "it": a sex robot.

This might sound like a niche market or a farfetched fantasy, but sex robots are part of the lucrative sex technology industry, which has an estimated worth of around £23 billion. This includes online dating, virtual reality porn and "smart" intimacy gadgets that can be connected to a laptop, tablet or phone through Wi-Fi.

Diego Costa has been fined two weeks wages (approx £300,000) for failing to return for Chelsea’s pre-season preparations, according to Sky Sports. The Spanish international was an integral part of Chelsea’s title winning squad last season, plundering 20 goals over the campaign. Manager, Antonio Conte, has deemed the player surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge this season however. Sports / Diego Costa Exclusive Interview by infolife: 11:49pm On Aug 13, 2017
After helping Chelsea to the Premier League title by scoring 20 goals in manager Antonio Conte's first season at the club, Costa finds himself 5,000 miles from Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend of the new campaign.

Costa's summer began with a text message from Conte, informing him his Chelsea career was over. Costa has not been at Chelsea since the FA Cup final in May and, during a half-hour conversation, the striker delivers a blistering retort.

He accuses Chelsea of treating him 'like a criminal' and refuses to rule out legal action. He says he will always keep Conte's text message on his phone and claims the Chelsea manager 'lacks charisma'. Costa also accuses Conte of blocking his contract negotiations in January.

Costa says he has been fined several weeks' wages but is defying demands to return to train with the reserves. The Spain international insists he wants a transfer to Atletico Madrid resolved this month and that, meanwhile, he is ready to see out his Chelsea contract unpaid and train alone near his home in Brazil.

Wayne Rooney hailed his match-winning return to Everton as a “special moment” after the England striker bagged the decisive goal in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Stoke.

Romance / A Fifth Of American Women Use Apps To Learn About Sex by infolife: 10:28pm On Aug 10, 2017
A global survey of apps users revealed that there is more to mobile technology software than dating and sexting.

Period-tracking app Clue teamed up with Indiana University’s Kinsey Institute to poll more than 140,000 of its app users, 96 percent of whom identified as women. The users were all 18 years of age or older and lived across 198 different countries in June.

The results were published on Thursday and showed a broad picture of the respondents’ habits when it comes to apps and sex life, health and education at a time when online dating is gaining popularity as a way to meet a sexual or romantic partner.

Among the American respondents, nearly one in five reported using an app to learn about sex, slightly higher than the overall response (18 percent), regardless of the level of sexual experience.

Granted, the percentage of those who turn to apps for sex education is lower than the percentage of those who use apps to find partners (34 percent), track their sexual....

Science/Technology / Malicious Code Written Into DNA Infects The Computer That Reads It by infolife: 9:28pm On Aug 10, 2017
In a mind-boggling world first, a team of biologists and security researchers have successfully infected a computer with a malicious program coded into a strand of DNA.

It sounds like science fiction, but I assure you it’s quite real — although you probably don’t have to worry about this particular threat vector any time soon. That said, the possibilities suggested by this project are equally fascinating and terrifying to contemplate.

The multidisciplinary team at the University of Washington isn’t out to make outlandish headlines, although it’s certainly done that. They were concerned that the security infrastructure around DNA transcription and analysis was inadequate, having found elementary vulnerabilities in open-source software used in labs around the world. Given the nature of the data usually being handled, this could be a serious problem going forward.

Sure, they could demonstrate the weakness of the systems with the usual malware and remote access tools. That’s how any competent attacker would come at such a system. But the discriminating security professional prefers to stay ahead of the game.

Science/Technology / Google Maps Update Should Be Able To Answer All Of Your Questions by infolife: 6:44pm On Aug 10, 2017
GOOGLE MAPS has pushed-out a new update to its hugely-successful navigation app that lets users ask questions to local businesses and attractions.

Google Maps has rolled-out an update to its mobile app that takes advantage of local knowledge.

The latest Google Maps beta includes a new Q&A section that lets users pose queries about local attractions, restaurants or bars to the owner – or the “broader community”.

According to Google, questions will be answered by “the owner and broader community” as well as local guides and experts.

When you tap on a venue in the updated Google Maps, the Q&A section will appear between the address and photos.

It looks very similar in appearance to the Q&A section included with items on Amazon.

Health / Loneliness And Social Isolation Could Be Deadlier Than Obesity by infolife: 5:09pm On Aug 10, 2017
Although we’re more connected than ever in some ways, many parts of the world are facing what’s being called a “loneliness epidemic”, with over 42 million adults over age 45 in the US suffering from chronic loneliness.

New research says that this widespread social isolation is a major threat to public health, perhaps even deadlier than obesity. The issue is only set to get worse too because of a decreasing number of children per household, declines in marriage, and an aging population.

“Being connected to others socially is widely considered a fundamental human need — crucial to both well-being and survival. Extreme examples show infants in custodial care who lack human contact fail to thrive and often die, and indeed, social isolation or solitary confinement has been used as a form of punishment,” Julianne Holt-Lunstad, professor of psychology at Brigham Young University, said in a statement.

“Yet an increasing portion of the U.S. population now experiences isolation regularly.”

The study, the largest ever of its kind, was recently presented at.....

Sports / Danny Rose: What He Said And What It Means For The England Star And Tottenham by infolife: 3:50pm On Aug 10, 2017
From new star signings to wage demands and poor squad depth, Tottenham's Danny Rose covered a lot of ground in his pre-season interview.

Tottenham's apparently serene preparations for the new Premier League season were shaken on Thursday after England left-back Danny Rose gave an explosive interview to The Sun newspaper.

Spurs have not moved in the transfer market during the off-season and Rose demanded top-class new signings, while declaring he would be willing to leave the club if that was the best way to win honours and improve his wages.

The north-London side's impressive progress under Mauricio Pochettino over the past two seasons has been rightly lauded but, following Kyle Walker's £50million departure to Manchester City, Rose's outpouring throws a harsh light on Spurs' prospects of sustained success.

Pochettino's men travel to newly promoted Newcastle United on Sunday before taking up residence at their temporary home of Wembley to face defending champions Chelsea. Here, we look at how Rose's observations might linger over this period and some possible......

Sports / Any Way Back At Chelsea For Diego Costa? Antonio Conte Reveals His Latest Stance by infolife: 1:06pm On Aug 09, 2017
Antonio Conte remains insistent there is no way back for Diego Costa at Chelsea.

The Blues manager told the combative striker earlier in the summer that he no longer featured in his plans.

However despite being told he can leave, the Spain international is yet to find a new club.

He’s understood to want a return to Atletico Madrid, but the La Liga side are unable to register new players until January which complicates that particular option.

In the meantime there have been growing concerns about the size of Chelsea’s squad.

The Blues have signed Alvaro Morata to replace Costa, but there is an acceptance that the young striker may need time to adapt to the Premier League.

But despite an obvious case for bringing Costa back into the fold, Conte remains......

Properties / These Ultra-luxurious Underwater Homes Are Being Built In Dubai by infolife: 1:43pm On Aug 08, 2017
The giant fleet of so-called 'Floating Seahorses' have been rolling out in phases over the last year.

In the clear-blue waters off the coast of Dubai lies a chain of islands known as The Heart of Europe. They're manmade reconstructions of actual European nations, just on a smaller scale — part of an even larger chain of islands known as “The World.”

Richard Branson, fittingly, owns the island representing Great Britain.

The Heart of Europe rolled out its first $2.8 million floating home, the aptly named “Floating Seahorse,” in early 2016. Since then, development firm Kleindienst has been rolling out even larger homes that will cost roughly $3.3 million.

The $2.8 million Floating Seahorse is the product of more than 5,000 hours of research and 13,000 hours of design and engineering, according to design firm Kleindienst Group.

The first models went on sale in 2015, before any Seahorses were even completed. Kleindienst told Business Insider it sold approximately 60 Seahorses in 2015.

Sports / UEFA Super Cup: Jose Mourinho Faces Defensive Woes Ahead Of Real Madrid Clash by infolife: 8:38am On Aug 06, 2017
Manchester United's trusted center-back Eric Bailly has received a three-match ban from European tournaments. Phil Jones has been handed a two UEFA match ban for abusing a doping official at Europa League final clash against Ajax.

“Has he (Victor Lindelof) made some mistakes? Yes, he has. The one against Real Madrid, if I am real, it’s the one that would concern me… Lindelof did not realise that he was so late on the challenge to gave the penalty away and carried forward with it. That would concern me,” former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol said in a recent interview.

It was nasty challenge on Real Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez by the newly-bought Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof that saw his side giving away a penalty in a friendly fixture between the two sides at Levi’s Stadium in California. From the standards of a friendly fixture, it was a challenge, well, too extreme (after all it was a game in which both the sides were literally escorted on the field by Ronald McDonald).

The disastrous performances in the pre-season have left critics wondering if Manchester United has made a mistake by signing the 23-year old Swede from Benfica. Known as “The Iceman” because of his cool and calm nature, Lindelof before his arrival was compared with United’s former Defensive maestro Nemanja Vidic. But after a horrid pre-season, fans are having to use Vidic comparison to defend his performances (Vidic too saw a tough start to his United campaign).

Amid all the doubts, Jose Mourinho’s side are gearing up for a tough opponent in Real Madrid on Tuesday for.....

Health / SEX - A Gynecologist Expert Answers The 7 Most Common Questions From People by infolife: 5:59pm On Aug 05, 2017
It may be a fountain of pleasure.

But for many women, sex can also come with painful and frustrating pitfalls.

The balance of vaginal bacteria is so delicate that, even if women do everything to stay clean and use protection, it can be difficult to avoid infections, dryness, or bad smells.

On the other hand, many women want to be spontaneous or adventurous - having sex in a pool, or having sex despite getting an unexpected period.

And some want to know: can a penis be too big?

According to leading gynecologist Dr Alyssa Dweck, author of The Complete A to Z for your V, these are some of the questions she fields every day from patients.

The vast majority of women who pass through her office in upstate New York ask her for advice on how to have an active sex life without the side effects, she says.

The questions concern all manner of scenarios, from day-to-day health to one-off situations.

Here, she outlines the most common issues, and what to do.

Health / The Truth About Using Antibiotics – Do You Really Need Continue Taking? by infolife: 12:22pm On Aug 02, 2017
There is evidence that in many situations stopping antibiotics sooner is a safe and effective way to reduce antibiotic overuse – British Medical Journal report.

James Sutton battled doctors for six weeks to get a 10-day course of amoxicillin for his severe bronchitic chest infection. When he got the antibiotics, they didn’t really work and, what’s more, he had a major allergic reaction, which caused an outbreak of hives all over his torso, adding to his misery.

“No one seems to know anymore what’s the right thing to do,” says Sutton, a 43-year-old fit and healthy publisher who cycles 18 miles to and from his office every day.

“For the past 50 years or more, doctors have been giving us antibiotics and telling us we must make sure we complete the course; then they started rationing them because of antibiotic resistance in the bacteria. Now we’re being told that doctors don’t really know how to use them either because there hasn’t been enough research, and that taking them for too long might be fuelling the rise of infection-resistant superbugs.”

Sports / Barkley & Drinkwater Pursuits, Insult To Chelsea Youngsters by infolife: 8:56am On Aug 02, 2017
It may have been a simple slip of the tongue. After all, Antonio Conte’s English isn’t flawless. But if it was meant as said then Chelsea’s youngsters should be concerned.

“We have a lot of young players,” Conte acknowledged when discussing his squad this week. “If necessary we have to try to put in these players.”

And there it is. The Chelsea boss will play the club’s young players, if necessary. As a last resort. Young Blues players must find that lack of faith disturbing.

Try, for a second, to put yourself in the shoes of Chelsea’s Lewis Baker. He has been at the club since the age of nine and has made his way through the Blues’ youth ranks.
