Health / 6 Easy Ways Tou Make Your Boobs Sag Quickly!!! by innovate3751: 6:00pm On Jan 22, 2017
Following my article, 7 facts about your breasts you must know (click link to read: http://doctorshub.com.ng/2017/01/04/7-facts-about-your-breasts-you-must-know/), I was bombarded with a flurry of questions about the why and how of sagging boobs, especially in young ladies who are yet to give birth or nurse a baby. Surprisingly, men were also among those calling and texting me for explanations on why young ladies, some of them in their teenage years, have overly sagged boobs. With all the calls and messages, this article became necessary and expedient.

While researching on the causes of sagging boobs in young, nonpregnant ladies, I came across a lot of information. But some of the info are basically for academic pursuits, as researches are still underway to establish their usefulness and applicability in everyday life. In any case, i was able to pick out six very common, everyday causes of sagging breasts, and they include:

#1. Sleeping face down: almost every lady out there is guilty of this. Now, while we may want to occasionally let go our reservations and indulge our favorite sleeping positions, sleeping face down comes with a price: drooping boobs. When you sleep face down, your boobs get plastered to the bed or couch you are sleeping on. With the whole of your chest and back bearing down weight on your boobs, they get stretched significantly. Do this just once and you may not notice anything. But continue at it for awhile and before you scream Ewoh, you would have yourself a pair of overly sagged boobs to contend with. And by the way, sleeping face down also affects your face: it makes it have wrinkles!

#2. Cigarette smoking: are you one of those badass girls who can puff several packets of White London or Benson on the regular like it's nothing? Well, if at all lung cancer doesn't do you in, dropping boobs will take a small bash at your ego. The nicotine in ciga has been known to cause several, damaging side effects. It is believed that its vasoconstrictor effect on blood vessels is responsible for the sagging of boobs either by breaking down collagen or reducing blood flow to the boobs, thereby preventing normal breast tissue growth.

#3, Using the wrong size of bra: this one is both ways- if you wear an overly tight bra just so that you boobs stand at attention like sentries, you are doomed. Similarly, if you wear an oversized bra that gives room for your boobs to swing and dangle like a pendulum each time you move, you are equally doomed! The answer? Wear your exact bra size. Stop borrowing, sister.

#4. Over-exposure of the breasts to sunlight: so in your mind you just want to flash a bit of cleavege and get the boys excited, right? Well, I got news you won't like: except you want to be flashing cleavage or boobs at night or very early in the morning, your boobs stand a risk of sagging very quickly when over-exposed to sunlight. And it is not just the boobs- the rest of your skin sags and ages as well. UV light has a damaging effect on the skin.

#5. Rapid weightloss or weight gain: if you lose weight drastically over short period of time, you stand the risk of having sagged boobs. Similarly, you also develop sagging boobs when you gain significant weight over a short while. If you are hell bent on losing some pounds and maintaining a trim, sexy figure, that's very okay. But do it reasonably and take it one step at a time. Give your breasts some time to adjust to the change in weight.

#6. Excess sugar intake: have you got a sweet tooth? Hear this: excessive intake of refined sugars cause your blood insulin level to rise, leading to inflammation which exerts stress on the skin and damages it...over time. Also, when sugars accumulate in the blood, they undergo Glycation: that is, they bind to collagen (the protein that gives the skin and muscles firmness and elasticity) and make it very rigid, hence, making the skin to sag quickly. Just to be clear: you can occasionally indulge yourself with that bowl of ice cream or greedily munch down one or two chocolate bars....it is allowed. However, don't make it an everyday thing or an addictive routine unless you goal is to have overly sagged boobs before you clock 30.

Health / 7 Common Signs Of Kidney Disease You Must Never Ignore!!! by innovate3751: 12:43pm On Jan 21, 2017
7 COMMON SGNS OF KIDNEY DISEASE YOU MUST NEVER IGNORE!

Deaths from kidney-related disease is at an all time high. According to WHO, 35 million of out of the 58 million deaths that occurred in 2005 were directly and indirectly caused by chronic diseases with kidney disease contributing a large share to the macabre list! Take a minute to ponder on it awhile. And why you are still busy contemplating the futility of life, here, another fact about kidney disease to knock the air off your lungs: kidney diseases kill almost as many peopple as does AIDS! Especially in developing countries where the lack of a robust healthcare delivery system impairs the management of kidney disease patients.

In Nigeria today, the spate of deaths due to kidney failure has never been so worrying as it is presently. From musicians to actors to students to both the yound and the old, no one is left out. Go through newspapers and you will be stunned as to the sheer number of people requesting financial donations for either dialysis or kidney transplantaion.

Anyways, just so that we are not caught unawares, here are 7 common signs/symptoms of kidney disease that must never be ignored:

#1.. Painful urination: also known medically as dysuria, this may be indicative of a urinary tract infection, and as such must be treated promptly and properly. This is because of the fact that the urinary tract infection, if left untreated or when not treated early, can spread to the kidneys (ascending infection) and damage them. Occasionally, the so-called dysuria is felt as a peppery or burning sensation. Regardless of the form it chooses to express itself, never ignore this sign/symptom.

#2. Blood in the urine (hematuria): this one is an alarm sign i.e it is a sign that should alarm anyone who witnesses it. Although, there are certain drugs that can cause your urine to appear bloody, still you must never take it lightly. At least first talk to your doctor and let him be the one to decide whether the urine is nothing to worry about.

3. Foamy urine: this is yet another sign of concern. When urinating, does your urine foam? If yes, then talk to a doctor asap. Usually, the foaminess is caused by the leakage of proteins from the body into the urine, a phenomenon called proteinuria, and it is a very important sign of kidney disease.

#3. Swollen legs or face: also known as pedal oedema (for the legs) and facial oedema or facial puffiness (for the face), this sign is one of the I-MUST-TELL-MY-DOCTOR-ABOUT-IT sign. The swelling is usually worse in the morning and improves as the day goes by. It also forms an indentation when pressed.
Now, suffice it to state, very quickly, that not all cases of leg swelling are a cause for alarm. For example, pregnant women do experience a mild to moderate swelling of the legs- this is normal is normal finding in pregnant woman. However, when the face gets involved, even though it is in pregnancy, report it to your doctor asap.

NB: leg swelling is also a sign of heart failure. That's why your doctor will ensure that your heart is also checked when you complain about this.

#4. Itchy skin (skin rashes): there are hundreds of causes of itchy skin. However, when your skin starts itching in the presence of the other signs or symptoms above, then be alarmed. Usually, the kidneys primarily excrete waste products. One of the wastes excreted is urea (from uric acid- a very toxic compound). But when the kidney is diseased, this function is impaired and urea accumulates in the blood (uraemia), thereby causing severe itching of the skin.

#5. Flank pain: flank pain, either left-sided or right-sided, often indicates kidney injury and as such must be taken very seriously. Occasionally, this the n can radiate to and be felt at the back.

#6. Nausea and vomiting: yes, it is not only malaria and typhoid fever that cause you to feel nauseous
or to vomit. In fact, when kidney disease is suspected, doctors often ask to know whether you have been experiencing this symptom. It is caused by the build up of waste products in the body due to the kidney's inability to perform its excretory function.

#7. Feelings of coldness all the time: this is coldness felt even when other people are complaining of heat. In the absence of some of the symptoms above, this may be be a symptom of hypothyroidism or something else. However, when it occurs with some of the signs or symptoms listed above, then kidney disease is likely. The coldness is often due to the severe anemia (shortage of blood) that characterizes kidney diseases. In pyelonephritis, the person may even complain of chills and fever.

NB: if you have any of the above signs or symptoms and you are not sure whether it is kidney disease or something else, please get a doctor's opinion as quick as you can. Of course, you always can talk to any of the doctors on our site site....247! Simply click on the link at the end of the article.

Health / 6 Facts About Ovulation Every Woman Must Know!!! by innovate3751: 6:16am On Jan 20, 2017
Source: www.DoctorsHub.com

Ovulation and menstruation are two very MUST-KNOW topics that should interest any woman of reproductive age (15 - 45 years). This is due to the fact that the sheer amount of influence they have on the quality of life that women get to live is overwhelming. Talk about that married woman who's been trying, unsuccessfully, to conceive for 7 years now or that 18 year-old girl who got herself knocked up while in her first year in the university? The list is endless. But shockingly, many women out there, at their own peril, display a discouraging nonchalance towards these topics. Sad.

In any case, for as many of you who want to learn about these topics, here are a summary of the 7 key facts about ovulation every woman must know:

#1. Ovulation is not the same as menstruation: menstruation is the monthly shedding of the uterine endometrium as evidenced by the passage of blood usually lasting 3-5 days every month. Ovulation, on the other hand, is the monthly release of eggs from the ovaries for fertilization. For most women with 28 days cycles, their ovulation happens on day 14 (counted from the first day of period) and it is the day of the month they are most fertile. This is why day 14 is often described as "No man's land"...except you intentionally want to get pregnant. So now that you know, don't go using the two as the same. They are completely different entities. And just for kicks, I often roll my eyes in shock and amazement when I hear an enlightened lady using the two synonymously!

#2. Pregnancy only occurs during ovulation: this may sound outrageous, but there are some women out there who don't know when they ovulate! No joke. And they (these women) come to us, crying, because they think they are infertile...and it may be because one old woman in their village has tied their wombs with black magic or their mothers-in-law are planning and plotting against their wombs. Ignorance is powerful something, walahi! Similarly, there are those who don't desire pregnancy, yet they have unprotected intercourse without knowing their day of ovulation. You are playing with sperm, sister! That said, it is important you know that majority of women with 28 days cycles ovulate on day 14, and the eggs released remain viable for about 24-48 hours before they dissolve. And again, the sperm can last up to 3 days in the female genital tract before it dies. That's why we advise women to count 3 days backwards and 3 days forward from day 14, to abstain from unprotected sex if they don't desire pregnancy, and vice versa.

NB: if you period is irregular, your ovulation day can be difficult to ascertain. Feel free to contact any of our doctors (http://doctorshub.com.ng/our%20doctors/) for help on how to figure out yours .

#4. Ovulation can occur in the absence of menstruation: usually, menstruation happens after ovulation when pregnancy fails to occur. For most women, they ovulate on day 14 and menstruate 2 weeks after. With the expectation of menstruation after ovulation, it is easy to think that the absence of menstruation would automatically mean the absence of ovulation. This is not so. There are certain conditions (such as asherman's syndrome, imperforate hymen, Mayer–Rokitansky–Küster–Hauser syndrome, or vaginal agenesis, etc) which can make a woman not see her period even though she is ovulating. For such a woman, she will feel the usual signs of ovulation such as fullness of breast, heightened sex drive, mild vaginal discharge, etc when ovulating, but 14 days after when her flow should naturally start, she sees nothing.

#5. You can have cramps while ovulating: some women have been known to experience cramps similar to those of menstruation when ovulating. This phenomenon is medically known as mittelschmerz. The lower-abdominal pain is usually one-sided and felt on day 14 in women with 28 days cycles. Unless the pain becomes too severe, it is usually ignored. When too severe, your doctor can prescribe you contraceptive pills that prevent ovulation from occuring in your subsequent cycles.

#6. You can bleed every month without ovulating: this condition is known as oestrogen-related breakthrough bleed, and this type of cycle is described as an anoulatory cycle (menstrual cycle without ovulation). It is not a normal occurence and is totally different from normal period flow. It occurs as a result of oestrogne imbalance in the body, and except a woman carefully plots her menstrual cycle, she may easily confuse this for her normal period flow.
