Meta-owned WhatsApp has announced a major leadership change as Will Cathcart, who has headed the messaging platform for nearly seven years, steps down from his position.

Cathcart, who played a key role in growing WhatsApp to over 3 billion users worldwide and championed privacy features on the platform, will remain at Meta and transition into a new role focused on building future products.

To replace him, Meta has appointed Kunal Shah, founder of Indian fintech company CRED, as the new head of WhatsApp.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg praised Cathcart for his contributions over the years and expressed confidence that Kunal Shah's experience and global perspective will help shape the next phase of WhatsApp's growth.

Once in a while they used to advertise cheaper data bundle. For instance, you may be browsing the next thing they will send a message asking you to buy like 32g worth of data for 5k or 12g worth of data for 3k.

My Observation
For years, many Nigerians loved Glo because of the large volume of data they offered. The major complaint was usually network speed and consistency.

Now it appears Glo is trying to tackle both issues at the same time:

✅ Network upgrades in several locations
✅ Night data bonuses on many plans
✅ Better value compared to some competing offers

If the speed improvements continue nationwide, Glo may become one of the most attractive options for heavy data users, streamers, remote workers, students and small businesses.

Yea. They rebranded and changed their name to T2 mobile. Very horrible service. I cannot subscribe to a data plan for over 1 year.
The only reason why I still retain the sim is because my banks and personal information are tied to that number

WhatsApp Drops Support for Older iOS Versions in November 2026
WhatsApp has announced a major update that will affect some iPhone users later this year. According to reports, beginning November 30, 2026, WhatsApp will only support devices running iOS 15.5 or later.

This means that users with iPhones operating on versions older than iOS 15.5 will no longer be able to use both WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business unless they update their devices.
What does this mean for users?
From November 30, 2026, iOS 15.5 becomes the minimum requirement for WhatsApp.

For years, many subscribers have complained that their mobile data seems to disappear faster than expected. In what appears to be an interesting response to those concerns, MTN Nigeria has announced a special event titled "Data on Trial", where data usage and consumption will be examined in a courtroom-style session before a jury.
According to the invitation, attendees will have the opportunity to witness discussions and explanations on what may be responsible for data consumption on mobile devices.

I can manage 70GM for 3 months and I sleep to podcasts playing at the background.

I've never heard of that plan before. I used their regular data plan for some time and they did not zap data. In fact, I had to download plenty videos on YouTube before I could exhaust my accumulated data when I switched network.
